Two years ago I commented on how much I love this video. On May 13th of this year (2022) I ran across a baby crow in the middle of the road. Totally helpless and hungry. I did all the things you did. Fed him, taught him to pick up his own food. Then we had him outside while gardening and he would follow us around. He taught himself to fly. No need to teach them. Then one day I patted a tree limb and he hopped up there. Then he started staying outside and coming down for food in the morning. Then it got to where he wasn't so hungry when he came down to visit, which was awesome. Then we'd sometimes see him with other crows, which we so wanted. Then sometimes we wouldn't see him for a day or two. Now, we haven't seen him since July 8th. We miss him terribly, but I'm sure he's off with a band of crows, enjoying his life. Amazing how fast they change. All that in seven weeks. I must say, though, that he took a lot of time to care for, and he ate as much as our cat at the end! We miss you, Jetson!
Well, bird poop is really easy to clean. Naturally, If someone got mad at a bird they nurtured and loved for pooping on their car, they'd be silly in that respect for expecting otherwise. I have had many birds and when you raise them, you couldn't care less if they pooped on your head or furniture, cause they are just so loving and look up to you so much, nitty bitty things don't matter, just them and that relationship.

I raised a baby starling to adulthood when I was a teen. He never learned to fly, though we tried to acclimate him to the outdoors. He never wanted to leave me. He sat on me all day, and actually walked beside me sometimes, or he would sit on my shoulder. He was so lovable. One of the best pets I ever had, and yet I never planned on having him stay with me his whole life. Starlings are very affectionate.
Yep, most people don't realize how incredibly social birds are. They bond just like mammals/humans. They don't see the species divide at all. Very humbling. Little feathered cutypies.

Im watching this as i sit with my baby starling rescue, Lil John, tucked in the nape of my neck sleeping. He had his first few flights of longer than 2 feet today so were very proud. Hes starting to get an attitude with me when trying to move him from off the top of my head or off the keys of my keyboard. He poops everywhere and all the time. You think youre catching on to the signs so you can place a paper towel under neath to catch it but then nope, he throws me a curve ball. I never knew just how much and how quickly i would grow to love and adore him, but just like that, he has my heart. My dogs who i love with all my heart, are feeling the pangs of jealousy and thats hard to see. But, we will all adjust and love one another as if wed always been a family. Ohh, i fed Lil John some icecream and...he loved it!
I saved a house sparrow too! Unfortunately it had a broken foot and I wasn't properly equipped to take care of the injury so I took it to a bird rescue :)
He is a good man and that is an adorable bird, but it’s not a starling. If you look up what a starling looks like you’d see why it’s called a STARling.
I found a little starling just like this in the middle of the sidewalk in my city back in summer 2020. There was no nest anywhere nearby and the little baby was in such a dangerous spot right next to the road. I brought it to the wildlife sanctuary about 15 mins away. I really really hope that little baby had as much success as this bird did.
Mike is a kind man and shares such an amazing bond with this beautiful birdie. I really envy their relationship! An awesome and heartwarming video by Dodo once again.
Fabulous...Thanks for sharing...One of my.lifes biggest regrets is the damage I did to wildlife when I was a snot nosed young schoolboy (with a b.b gun introduced to me by a few older kids in the neighborhood that I should have avoided like the plagued)...It still haunts me to this day... I love to see vidros like this and God bless the man for saving and raising this beautiful little soul...God bless you sir for your kindness and compassion...❤
🥰 What a Dad! Thanks for saving this little guy. I feed backyard birds and last year Daddy Cardinal named LeRoy brought his baby girl to me for food. Mom was standing by.
If that was in the morning, it's called a morning poop. Birds refuse to poop while asleep, so when they wake up, they poop out all the poops they forced to not do. I learned that from Jaiden Animations-
One late spring we raised 3 newborn starlings after a local cat killed their mother. we taught them to fly inside, then when they were strong enough we put them in a mullberry tree in our back yard, which is a great little tree for security and food. Every morning when I would come outside with my morning coffee they would all fly to me and I would give them mulberries, even though they were eating them on their own. They stayed the whole summer in that tree. When we were in our swimming pool they would hang out on the floats with us. One by one they left with small flocks of local starlings. It was a wonderful experience for my wife, me, and my 2 young daughters.
I just got home from work after a long and tiring night shift but after watching this, I felt all the weariness and tiredness just melts away, thanks for sharing, you made my day. God bless you for taking care of such a wonderful creature.

We (mostly my sister an I) liked to volunteer in local animal rescues by helping hand rearing the orphans being mostly native birds, kittens an puppies; with the occasional racoon, possum an coyote. Most are released but where we live starlings are an invasive species an cant be released, so we adopted them. My kids raised them for a few weeks and released them. They used to come back every day for food, werent afraid and used to get inside my home, straight to the kitchen looking for food
they're not aggressive, too? that's nice to hear

I really hope this wonderful man is a rehabilitator. If not, he should be! He has a tender heart and practical head!
I hope his little buddy comes to visit him for many years to come 🥰
I bet he is. Someone brought the bird to him. I'm not a rehabber but I'm an insane bird lover and I get calls about injured/abandoned birds all the time. Could be the same with him.

Yes, that's why everyone should go vegan because that's the least we can do for animals.

Starlings are very affectionate.
i think many animals are, but i might be wrong o.o
Yep, most people don't realize how incredibly social birds are. They bond just like mammals/humans. They don't see the species divide at all. Very humbling. Little feathered cutypies.
@@cord11ful yes! He was lovable. I would have to be super quiet in the morning when I would get up, because as soon as he would hear me and know I was up he would chirp at the top of his lungs, lol! Then I'd get him out and we'd start our day, with him sitting on my shoulder, lol. I loved him. I raised a lot of birds when I was young, finding them after storms, lose from their nests. The bird isn't tamed. He was raised by a human. We live in a society where people believe that raising the young is taming them.
@@firepower7017 True, by that logic we all tame our kids and I have seen for a fact that many kids can be wild.

Lmao! I just noticed that!

Saw that too
If that was in the morning, it's called a morning poop. Birds refuse to poop while asleep, so when they wake up, they poop out all the poops they forced to not do.
I learned that from Jaiden Animations-
I truly believe this is how animals and people were supposed to interact, not at a store, just something like this.
That's why they say kids are like birds, because one day they open their wings and fly away from their parents.

Aww talk about memories. Our family had two starlings as pets for years named Zim an Dib in my family. Miss those fluff balls~ They really were beautiful and so loving, changed my view on them completely.
