Always makes me wonder why people see a raging torrent of water across the road and decide the best course of action is to banzai into it at warp speed then sit there all confused when their engine hydrolocks.
Exactly, slow and steady wins water crossings. Even better if I was to live in that area that flooded a lot, a Hilux with a snorkel kit would be my mode of transportation.
I somewhat doubt they get covered, the place is clearly marked... this would be one of the cases when the insurance company SHOULD tell them to go take a hike
lmfao... all the comments of "how is that still alive?" when the Fiat that started floating reversed itself out baffle me.. I'll tell you how, because she was going slowly.. why did the truck in the clip right after that die? because he wasn't. it's not rocket science people, learn some basic off-roading skills. river crossings aren't difficult, you just need to keep water away from your engine's air intake... how else would that Mini around 4:27 manage to get all the way through, even though it's back end was floating? because it entered the water more slowly than almost everybody else.
Love how people just plow into water at high rates of speed with no regard for who may be stuck in them. Hope that Ranger enjoyed paying for a new front bumper.
@@marciN0o I suppose driving your car into a flooded river in the idiot belief it will be okay is a good metaphor for the epic self harm of brexit! It's almost as dumb as voting for Trump. Stop the planet, I want to get off.
It's simply unbelievable how there are people who are stubborn in thinking they can overcome a flood with low cars and with such an exposed front grille. It's stupid.
Why does that country intentionally flood cars? Is it difficult to judge the situation? If I can't pass that road, will my driver's license be revoked? Are all flooded car sellers evil? I want to know!!

These people are loonies. There is a road near me that often floods. When there is a flood, I stop and wait for a vehicle to drive through. That tells me the depth. If it’s okay, I drive through slowly in first gear along the middle where the road is highest. Going fast is the worst thing you can do. Isn’t this taught in the driving test?
@luisalthaus7249 The exhaust ports in the cylinders only open when the piston is on the exhaust stroke. The exhaust will get water in it, but not enough to cause any problem. It won't get into the engine that way even when reversing. The air intake is where the water gets into the engine.
Impressed with the floating Fiat 500 managing to get out of trouble.
I'm amazed it didn't conk out like all the rest. After all it's air intake is below the front bumper!
@ChuckPlains Hmmm. Maybe some planning. Rerouted air intake and careful insulation.
Perhaps unbelievable good luck?
@@BasilPunton 'tis a slight possibility.

In the case of the country this video was taken , the answer is simple. The creatures living on that island are to primitive to think!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩
I think they’re hoping to splash the spectaculars

Yay! I love to see any Unimog! And this one towed a truck out of troubled water! 👍
Boggles the mind how people do this. I was impressed with the mini though
UK must have horrible drivers, because I’ve never seen so many people so unaware of how to manage water crossings.
Great compilation! Thanks. I sure miss this location ...
Never buy a car within a 10 mile range of that ford ,,,and the local tow company have booked there holidays again 2 months in Barbados
8:28 doing backwards is actually a great idea to aviod sucking water
So long as you keep the engine revs up so water doesn’t go up the exhaust…

You can check on the cars that got flooded, so many no longer on the roads.

The girl at 6.20, standing on the bonnet of a now fucked expensive car, worried about stepping into a foot of water? Waste of space.
Entitled that's what she is. Mummy and daddy will buy her a new car.
The little FIAT that tried but couldn't
Just imagine the pressure on the radiator. All fins bent, etc..
My double air intake is just below the bonnet latch. If I even get a whiff the water is above the door sil, I'm out.

just bending pistons everytime they force start with water in air box😂😂
