This problem just happened to my 2020 Explorer. Of course I’m not happy, but at 77,000 miles this extremely complex vehicle has carried me around the planet three times. Despite these quirks I marvel at the capabilities of our modern computerized devises. In the sixties we changed tires every year and were lucky to get 60-70k miles out of a car.
Big thump man! I had this problem on my ford explorer limited 2018 since i bought it and no body could figure out the reason?? I was doing the same of what you did and I thought i was bluffing!! But it sounds it’s the only answer for what happening!!
Bought my 20/20 explorer with 28,000 on it first issue I had was the auto hold system fault my fix for that was to just make sure I shut Auto hold off before I shut the vehicle off. But now I just got this no start issue after shutting the vehicle off to get gas it wouldn't start again however mine started with remote start. The telluride is looking better and better 😒
Our ST has 10,400 miles on it; back at the dealer AGAIN. Same problem. I took it in...said you're keeping it until it's fixed and giving my wife a rental the entire time. She gets a two year old convertible Mustang with 66,000 miles on it...unreal. The service is just gone from @Ford How the hell can they not have a fix for this widespread issue?????
so I had the manual start required message. I pulled the neg terminal on the battery, didn't fix it. it wasn't my key fob or any sensors. My card was sitting on an incline and I didn't have much gas. It got to a point to where it basically ran out. put some more gas in and then it started right up. I did have to leave the battery terminal disconnected overnight so I guess it reset it as well. I only had like 24 miles left in my car. Just be aware when parking on hills. It will prevent gas from going into the engine.
That seems like that’s a security system malfunction. It thinks it’s being stolen so it kills the ignition system, and when you remove the battery terminal all that he’s doing is resetting the ECM
Having the same issue with my 2020 ford explorer xlt. Only difference is that it will start using the remote/fob starter. Dealer can't figure it out or duplicate the problem either... 🤦♂️
You are absolutely right! My key fob completely died in December where I had to put it in the slot in the center console to start the vehicle. I replaced the battery on it and it has not done it since. Thank you for the feedback.
If there is any other fixes I would love to know we bought ours and we have the same problem changed key fob battery and still does it any thing else I can do please tell me
this happened to me an hour ago I had it on and it turned off thought it was the battery and it is not it cranks but doesn’t full turn on what can I do it’s a 2019 it’s my daughters suv she just got it this year
Thank you Angel! 2020 is currently at the dealer, yesterday had this problem and I took video. Thank God because today they can't duplicate the problem. Curious what the final remedy was.
UPDATE: It continued to do it until one night in December that it finally stopped responding all together. Key fob died and had to use the physical key to open doors and put the key fob in center console slot to start vehicle. Replaced battery on key fob and it hasn’t done it since.
@@angell5799HI peeps... This is happening to me tonight mid traffic and glad I found your vid + the brake release one to move... Hold on.. I need the how to replace key fob vid

The fix for this issue is the key fob battery, well it was for mine atleast.

I'm so glad I decided to order a 2022 Cadillac XT6 rather than buy the Explorer. It looks like I dodged a bullet.
So did you found the problem on your truck ?I have the same same problem and I fixed the same way.
I replaced the key fob battery in December and it has not done it since.
Yeah. It didn't work for me, so it must be the battery itself that needs to be replaced
I have same Model and same problem, let me know if you have any other solution because of dealer no have solution.
