    Wow ....! Very inspiring.
I love to hear where these young men are now. It will be great if there is a follow-up interview as it might encourage others.

Life is not only about passing exams but building character & changing a mind set of am not good enough. Am soo proud of these boys and the amazing man who started this coz this is a phenominal about to happen the different narrative of african american boys just started with this school watch this space in 10yrs.

Look at the reality against the odds and close your mouth action speaks louder than words these young men live in area where kids get killed by other kids and one person on here can have a negative comment. Really.and now they are setting examples of excellence this wasnt supposed to be ,Wow

Not all schools require the ACT. Usually only SAT, we dont know their individual SAT scores.

  • @mrbones2010

Their ACT average was a 16.
A considerable amount of good 4 year schools that these kids boast about getting into usually require scores in the mid-twenties.
    What's wrong with this picture?

Hay Soos this was 8 years ago. How are their doing now.

And besides they may have had awesome SAT scores that cancelled out their bad ACT scores. Since SAT's mostly consist of reading and math, UP curriculum spends more time and resources on those two subjects

In 2010, 2011, and 2012 100% of the students were admitted into 4 year universities. How is meeting your objective failure?

Oxford? That's a load of bull. Not saying the students are terrible, just that abc is embellishing as they always do.

congrats - but the whole school averaged a 16 - you may be doing well for yourself - but the school as a whole is a failure
