I understand how difficult it is to leave a church you've been a part of for many years. But when a church follows the laws of man and not those of God it's time to shake the dust off your feet and move on.

@@johnsmithSongbird I soon will be 66, so we are very close in age. I fall short every day. I find it more than hard to believe with the life God has given me, that my sins will be forgiven, if my thoughts go to throwing stones at others, whose sins are different than mine. Especially when I know other sins that God hates are directed straight at every other human. Preachers very seldom speak of those ones. I guess on purpose. I really wanted to watch this movie, until I read that the church basically got rid of one type of sinner, and yet embraced all the other ones. I don't embrace that lifestyle, but can't pick and choose as I wish. Does grace apply to all, or just who we choose.
My heart is with you. One year ago, my husband and I left the UMC after being members for 45 years. We raised our children in the church, participated fully in Bible and book studies, joined the mens and women's groups, and were even staff members a large portion of the time. Our issues were similar to yours. Additionally, pastors in North America (were we live) no longer preach about or use the word "sin", as it "turns people off" (we were told). I also noticed the gospel message was being replaced by social justice topics. In sermons, there were more quotes from other sources than from scripture. The Holy Spirit made it clear to us that we were not being fed the true Word of God and it was time to leave. There are many lovely, devoted Christians within the UMC and it broke our hearts to leave many long-time friends. We have visited other churches, but have not yet found a new church home. We, too, are hopeful the Global Methodist Church will be the answer and are waiting to see if one of the UMC churches in our area will move in that direction.
So far as I know, none of my ancestors was ever a methodist. Nor have my wife or I ever considered ourselves methodists. Our parents, however, encourage my siblings and me to admire all of the protestant reformers (without idolizing any of them). Our parents considered the Wesley brothers to be protestant reformers. The first time I was asked to help a methodist congregation was in the early 1970s in Pennsylvania where, with the pastor and lay leaders knowing I wasn’t a methodist, I taught an adult Sunday school class for three months. One of my wife’s brothers was a Free Methodist pastor in Iowa where he was the clergyman of record for the celebration of our wedding in 1977. I don’t remember particularly offering methodist clergy any “advice” until a few years ago but I began to realize that methodist sermons were becoming more and more political so, without pretending to be a methodist, I suggested that the United Methodists were headed for trouble if the trend continued. Alas, my advice was too little too late. (By the way, I offered that same advice to both conservative and progressive clergy.) So far as I know, there is only one Free Methodist congregation in Maine where we live now. It is far enough away (Gardiner) that I haven't attended Free Methodist services there or anywhere else in the last forty years but I still hold out some hope that Free Methodists in the twenty-first century are no more inclined to preach political sermons than my brother-in-law did in the 1970s. I’m astonished that there isn’t more banter on TH-cam about disaffected United Methodists investigating Free Methodist congregations. I assume you are aware that, for quite a while after the Wesley brothers and some of their friends were first called “methodists”, there was no such thing as a “Methodist Church” or even local methodist churches. Where methodists met together, those groups were called methodist “societies”. I don’t see any reason why like-minded methodists can’t create local methodist societies in the twenty-first century - for one or more reasons. Mutual encouragement. Discussion of scripture passages or/and other literature. To organize singing bands to go to assisted care facilities or nursing homes or veterans homes, maybe even jails or prisons or youth detention centers. Some of the most encouraging Bible studies I ever attended were organized by lay methodists in Pennsylvania. One of their “rules” was that nobody would ever say someone else’s understanding of a Bible text was “wrong”. That makes it much easier for shy people to offer their insights. There’s a singing band that was already functioning in our town when we moved here in late 2017. The group was organized by a member of the Church of God (“next door” to our house) and has been going to an assisted living facility in the next town north of here. I’ve been under the impression that some of the participants have been methodists but it wasn’t until last week that a retired methodist pastor went with us. He said he’d like to do so again soon. I’m delighted because he has a strong “preaching voice” to more easily be heard by the 70 or 80 residents in the dining room. The residents didn’t have the lyrics to It Came Upon A Midnight Clear so, after we played (piano and violin) and sang that song, I asked him to read the lyrics to the residents. I get too choked up to read the last part of that song aloud - All ye beneath life's crushing load Whose forms are bending low Who toil along the climbing way With painful steps and slow, Look now for glad and golden hours Come swiftly on the wing. O rest beside the weary road And hear the angels sing.
@@thomasc9036 you do know most of the pastors of the early churches set up by Paul, Timothy and Titus were run by women...too bad one Pope decided to expunge that from Church history. Hard to hear, but true.
God bless you for taking an important stand for your Lord. You will never have regrets for having done this. Your decisions will have eternal consequences. We are in the last days. Jesus is coming back and He will find you faithful.
@@steveclark4767so what makes you leave your church? the Methodist church? You know there is only one church founded by Jesus Christ, when Jesus say’s to peter, I’ll tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, singular, Jesus Christ did saying to peter churches, Matthew 16:18, so there is one true only church founded by Christ.
"The wise man built his house upon the rock." The UMC built on sand. Sadly, the UMC destroyed itself. The Kingdom is eternal, our denominations are not.
I wasn't raised Methodist but I was raised Southern Baptist, my (former) church went along the same route. I'm in my early 20s and they couldn't keep people because they started preaching fluff. I ended converting to Eastern Orthodoxy. Frankly, quite the change. However, I found my place. Though, we might not be the same Christian tradition. I hope God leads you to the spot he needs you. God Bless from a Christian brother from across the pond.
I grew up in a UMC church. The pastor who baptized and confirmed me drove off a lot of members preaching against the war in Vietnam and Richard Nixon, in a style like Billy Graham.. The next pastor should have taught seminary. He could preach 35 minutes on Kirkegaard. Actor and political pundit Ben Stein was more animated than this pastor. He could not relate well to anyone under the age of 45. Young families left for the non-denominational church with a former Dutch Reformed pastor who preached "fluff." Frankly, a lot of people would have stayed, if either pastor preached fluff.
I went through the same heartbreaking ordeal and understand. In retrospect I see it differently now. I did not leave my church, my church left me. Like you, my conviction led me. Jesus is Lord and I follow Him. It was a long journey, but I now have peace in a community of believers who hold the same faith that was preached 2,000 years ago, without compromise. Jesus, the same, yesterday, today and forever. You did the right thing, Brother. God bless.
I have had immense respect for the American Methodists and their contributions over the last few centuries. For instance, here in Southern California there were thousands of Methodists who not only farmed citrus orchards, but also founded many cities and were leaders in civic affairs. Many great universities, such as USC, was founded as a Methodist school. “The Fighting Methodists” was their original mascot, instead of the Trojans. I am not Methodist, but I feel blessed and now enjoy the results of living in a community that was founded on Christian principles, in the late 19th century. It sad to see the gradual erosion of righteousness.
Well done.. Preach the whole Gospel in and out of season... The same sex marriage etc.. is Sin and illegal in the sight of God.. And cannot be compromised by man's religion or traditions.. GOD is HOLY.. Bless you in your future ministry.. 🙏
I live in America and, like you, have been Methodist my entire life. It breaks my heart to see what’s happening in the church today. My local church is very liberal, while my Sunday School class is not; many of us in the class have ceased going to the actual church service because of what’s being taught. The SS class is our ‘small group’, and many attend the class and then leave to go to services at a more conservative church. I’m not sure yet what churches in our area will be disaffiliating with the UMC; I suspect that there will be no nearby options.
There are many of us now. My whole family left UMC soon after we realised its apostasy. UMC has been compromised along with those other denominations. It's difficult to find a church now who follows God's Words alone and not of man made rules.
My story is somewhat the same. I was raised in the Methodist church. I left about a year and a half ago. 58 years. I am still sad about it. I go with my wife to her church but I miss several things. The absolute non teaching the Bible is terrible and changing the definition of gender is abhorrent. Still makes me sad though.
@@davidcawrowl3865 Don't confuse correlation with causation. There are many godly, spirit-filled women who are in leadership positions in churches today that preach the gospel. Don't forget all of the women in the Bible who are held up as examples of righteousness. And look at the many men in the Bible who were faithless leaders who led Israel into peril with their godlessness. Gender does not make one a sinner or a saint. The blood of Christ can, however convert one from being a sinner to a saint.
Woe to them who call good...evil and evil...good. (Isaiah 5:20) God will pour His wrath upon those that distort His true Gospel.. Thank you brother for standing and upholding our Saviors truth and Holiness...< I am a sister in US.....who loves our Redeemer Jesus Christ... too😇
God will honour your courage in standing up for the truth of the gospel. All too many churches are turning their back on Gods word to appease the world. May you and your wife continue to be used in a mighty way for His glory here on earth for years to come Amen 🙏🏻
God bless you and the mighty work you have accomplished. I, too, was raised Methodist in a historically Methodist family in eastern Texas. My wife and I are fortunate to still attend a Wesleyan, conservative, traditional Methodist Church in Tennessee. As you are aware, I'm sure, we here are approaching a watershed moment when we as a congregation must choose whether to remain to be a part of the UMC, or leave to become another form of Methodist that still remains true to traditional biblical and Wesleyan doctrine. I grieve with you, brother. God is still in charge and the heretics will face their God and learn just what the wages of sin holds.
Brother - I feel your pain. My roots in the Methodist church go back over 200 years. Like you, it is the church in which I was baptized and came to know Christ. Recently, I left the now United Methodist Church here is the U.S. for the Global Methodist Church. Or, I should say, the United Methodist Church left me. It has turned its back on the accuracy and authority of scripture and 2000 years of church tradition. As painful as it has been to leave, I am certain that it was the right thing to do. I have been blessed by being in the presence of pastors, church leaders and fellow Christians who believe that God's Word is true, believe that the crucified, buried and resurrected Jesus is the one way to God and worship Him in spirit and in truth. I pray that you will find peace in your decision to leave the British Methodist Church and that you will find a church that will allow you to continue to worship and serve Him according to the true and traditional Way. May God bless you.
I was raised United Methodist. We are going through the same here in our church. Our little country church is closing after 175 years. Very sad. Conference left this slip by too long. I will no longer support the U M. We will be going elsewhere where we will hear the word directly from the Bible. Best of luck to you.
Enjoyed making your acquaintance via TH-cam. Although I am of English descent, I don't envy your residency there because of the limited freedoms. Wishing you well, Brother. Keep seeking God with all your heart. I'm in Fuquay-Varina, NC USA. Be blessed!
Thank you for sharing. I too feel sadness that the UMC in America is splitting, but it is a necessary parting of ways. One of our churches in Hanover, PA. is disaffiliating and may join the Global Methodist Church. The other larger UMC Hanover PA. church is voting tomorrow on whether to disaffiliate. It could go either way, but hopefully they will disaffiliate, too. I thank God for your faithfulness and full sympathize with your sense of loss. May God honor your ministry now and in the future.
Thank God that both voted to disaffiliate! We are from Maryland and now drive to Hanover to hear the Word preached with truth and authority at Grace Church.
So sorry to hear of your news. I am about to part company with the Church of England for similar reasons so am somewhat surprised to see that you have aligned yourself with them. There are lots of lovely people in all denominations and we shall be sorry to have to say goodbye to our friends but our allegiance is firstly to our Lord Jesus.
@@steveclark4767 That, of course is good news Steve. However the problem lies in the House of Bishops, and their decisions are binding upon the clergy in much the same way as you have experienced. Once the leadership starts the walk down the path of apostasy encumbents can either accept ungodly decisions and be implicit or leave. This is a terrible choice but God has promised to look after those who are faithful to His word.
I think there should be a ministry that comes out of all this that goes to the leadership of other bible believing denominations/churches and shares the lessons learned on how a liberal group can take over. I always think it is a shame that we hand over denominations, churches, and schools to the people who disagree with the traditional beliefs. Why don’t they leave and start another group. Satan is alive and well. May God bless you brother. Thank you for sharing this.
Heartbreaking news. Thankful you took a stand and moved on. We are seeing this in all denominations now. Many Churches are splitting. Seems there is a separation of wheat and tares. This does not surprise our God and Savior. May He continue to strengthen those who call on Him and empower them to remain faithful and true to His word. Praying for those who teach and preach an uncompromising message. The heat is on and faith is being tested as many are being accused of hate speech. May God grant wisdom and discernment as we navigate in a world that has lost its way and truth is no longer welcomed.
Congratulations on following God's guidance, it takes great courage to leave the church which has been one's home for so many years. 22 years ago I left the Anglican church here in South Africa (a bishop who was doing his own thing, not being led by God, many left at that time) & I moved to the Methodist church. I also became a fully accredited local (lay) preacher for most of that time till I had to retire. I found the Methodist church was brilliant in teaching the people the foundational truths of the Gospel. They have been delaying making a final decision on this same-sex marriage problem for many years, though quite a few ministers I know have been refusing to perform these "marriages". If they start changing the truths as given in God's Word then I will also be compelled to find another church , I also refuse to be involved in any spreading of false "truth". May God's truth always be recognised as the only truth. May you continue to be blessed by standing up for what is right.
Although I was Christened in the Presbyterian church confirmed in the Anglican church married Methodist and went Back to the Presbyterian I still have a great fondness for the Methodist church and I wonder just how far they have changed in South Africa where I live do they still hold to the principles and teachings of John Wesley the last time I was in a Methodist church I didn't hear the old hymns especially Charles
I understand, our UMC we are disaffiliating disassociating however it’s stated from the United Methodist Church here in America in my city my town we are working on doing that we voted and it was almost unanimous to disassociate from the United Methodist Church, very sad very sad but this is the way to go.
Follow your faith not a church. Take your teachings and beliefs with you. God will give you the guidance and strength you need and he will not abandon you.
I also was raised Methodist. My grandmother was my first Sunday School teacher. I heard some things at a Methodist church in Ohio that shocked me. This was in the 1970's! I'm 70 years old now and never thought I would see the church approve of the blatant sin of marriage for same gender people.
I went into complete shock, that you have been raised deceived. You have a Bible. You have not immersed into it. You have allowed yourself to be led, but it's understandable (not?) being indoctrinated from birth. Go all the way to the end of your Bible, for the final clear word of God. See who ARE blessed. Revelation 22:14 This passage speaks to all professing frauds, and all liars. God bless you for your endurance as a victim.
@Elton Ron I have been truly saved since 1975. That's when I noticed the wrong teachings. The church I grew up in was very Godly. The fact that I wasn't saved till I was I turned 25 was on me, not the church.
Well done for your faithfulness, Steve. How sad that you have been excluded from the pulpits of Methodist churches here. May you know God's provision for you going forward and His purposes being worked out through all that has happened, and may your faithful witness cause others to question the direction of the Methodist church here.
I have never been a Methodist but I'm quite well acquainted with a Methodist organization. What I have seen is a message of "inclusion" and "diversity" but said inclusion and diversity doesn't welcome opinions that are contrary to liberal opinions on gay marriage. Many churches have drifted away from Bible doctrine. The important thing is to be guided by God's Word irrespective of what others do. Hopefully there will be a true revival of primitive godliness.
It isn't about inclusion or being loving. It's about allowing them to serve in high positions and acting in an approving manner. The Methodist church has been infiltrated by pornography and once that takes root fully its down hill from there. I walked away and asked for my letter to be removed years ago, but they kept me as a member and even sent out notice of the vote to be removed or stay in the UMC. It is a business. A secular, sinful business. Very sad.
@@eltonron1558 As I said, the important thing is to be guided by God's Word irrespective of what others do. Here is an interesting perspective on that from the book Catholicism and Fundamentalism by Karl Keating that was printed by the Ignatius Press. It has the nihil obstat of "Rev. Msgr. Joseph Pollard, S.T.D. Censor Librorum," the imprimatur of "+ Most Reverend Roger Mahony Archbishop of Los Angeles" and on the back cover testimonials to the goodness of the book by Archbishop Philip Hannan of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and John A. Hardon, S.J. who is the author of The Catholic Catechism. On page 38 it says: "After all, fundamentalists meet for worship on Sunday, yet there is no evidence in the Bible that corporate worship was to be made on Sundays. The Jewish Sabbath, or day of rest, was, of course, Saturday. It was the Catholic Church that decided Sunday should be the day of worship for Christians, in honor of the Resurrection."
@Martin Lohne Small problem. It is impossible for the Sabbath to be Jewish, or exclusively Jewish. God gave the commandments to 12 tribes, with his voice, and they heard him. Only ONE of those tribes are Jews. Because they were given by the voice of God, it is impossible for the ten commandments to be mosaic law. On top of that, when the church departed from it's own canonized Bible, the church became no longer legitimate. No truth, no authority. He who says, "I know him", yet keepeth not the commandments, is a liar, (church), and the truth is not in him,(church). 1 John 2:3-4 At the very end of the Bible The blessed are identified. Rev. 22:14 You want to go with a church, or God? Just asking for a friend.
@@eltonron1558 I agree with you. The seventh day Sabbath was sanctified at creation; long before there were any Jews or children of Israel. The term "Jewish Sabbath" is a misnomer that's commonly used. Karl Keating, I'm sure, is well aware of that. The word "Jew" is a contraction of the name "Judah." The tribe of Judah, part of Benjamin and some of the Levites stayed with King David and his descendants. In time those who continued to worship with the descendants of Judah whether from that or another tribe came to be known as Jews.
The Truth will set you free. I believe there will be more in the future that will try to change the truth and turn away from the real truth, but our Gods Word has stood up to many years of fighting, apostacy and heresy.
I I can sympathise will you brother,I am a Baptist with sixty years of active church membership ,now some Baptist ch itches are having same sex marriage and some are not ,the reason is all Baptist churches are autonomous even if they a in the Baptist union, the CodE at just doing blessing s as are the Catholics I se e.The idea seems to be that the love ad compassion of Jesus would welcome s such unions,I don,t.
God bless you, brother! Our Methodist church congregation is going through this, too, as we have decided to disaffiliate from the UMC. I was born and raised in the UMC and I’m saddened to see this happening to our denomination, but we must move on, preaching Christ and salvation through him. Praying all the best for you!
Brother, it's hard leaving a church, but I left the Southern Baptist Church in the 70s a d went to a Unity Curch and came back, because of some of the things He showed me directly and indirectly by Romans Chapter 1. You are doing the right and Godly thing leaving and affirming Christ as head of the Church and the sacredness of marriage between a man and woman. I salute your decision and praye felt commitment to the Scriptures.
Respect to you, Rev Clark. Those of us Catholics who believe in the traditional values are holding on, despite great pressures to send the Roman Catholic Church down this same road. I'm hopeful that we can continue to have Catholics of both liberal and conservative beliefs, but there are certain moral issues which simply cannot be compromised. Please pray for us that we can remain true to Christ.
That's where we feel is the right place for the time being. The vicar is Christ-centred and Bible-based. There are significantly more people in the Anglican church who believe in the traditional view of marriage and relationships than there were in the Methodist church. If we need to move again at some time in the future, God will make it plain.
@@steveclark4767 Thank you and God bless you! We don't have e one of those either. We have a Lutheran Church, UMC while they vote, Baptists of every sort. I was just praying about where to go earlier? I realize I am in the USA. Please pray for us.
@Mary Mayberry, I am in the US and feel the same!! I live in a small community. God has made it clear to me that I should leave the UMC; if our church doesn’t leave the UMC I will be leaving my lifelong church family. Satan is certainly doing a number in our world!
I am so glad you have been welcomed in your local Anglican Church! Your story is sorrowful. I was raised in the Methodist church until my parents broke up when I was a teenager. After a difficult teen and young adult life, I attended the funeral of my grandmother in West Virginia where my grandfather had been a Methodist minister since the 1930s. I began to sense the Lord at that time drawing me and shortly afterwards became a Christian. I did not return to the Methodist church but attended where the Bible was revered and taught well. I am over 70 now, and still have the Methodist hymnal I received as a choir girl at about age 8. I remember so many hymns from that time and attribute my love of scripture to the theology contained in the hymns I learned so long ago. Your story touches my heart and I know my grandparents would feel your grief. I pray the Global Methodist Church will stay strong for the Lord and will flourish. So many denominations are overwhelmed by delusion, as our Savior predicted. I will look at your channel and hope someday to hear you preach. My husband and I recently moved from our home of 30 years to another city and my heart is longing for the kind of fellowship you have found. May God bless you!
May God bless and strengthen you as you go on with him. May you be ever led and strengthened with the assurance that underneath are the everlasting arms and that God's mercy endures forever.
In case you aren't watching: young people refuse to go to church after they leave the family nest!!! Churches in America are not "Jesus churches" because in most of them: scriptures and ceremonies are the most important part of their worship. Jesus is noticeably missing! Did Jesus want a "theological church?" No, He wanted a church that reached out to the poor and the suffering! He wanted a church that did not look down on sinners, but attempted to reach out to them. Young people see this and refuse to have anything to do with this "medieval" version of Jesus' Church! Methodists worship the bible and Catholics worship an altar with lit candles and a priest mumbling over ceremonies! Can you blame the young for "deserting the ship???"
@@barbs1298 Here is the problem with what you say - people have different opinions about what is God's opinion. Do you hold old testament law in higher regard then loving your neighbor.
@@danherrick5785 No, I don't. All the law can be summed up in these 2 commands: Love the Lord your God w/your whole heart, mind & strength & love your neighbor as yourself. Those are enough to keep one's focus on any given day. The world has becomes a cesspool of self-idolatry & self-pleasure. We sadly live in an all about me culture & all that entails these days.
Do not grieve. There is a cleansing by God going on. Revival and reawakening within the true Body of Christ. Rejoice, I say rejoice. Happy will be those who truly know and interpret the word of Jesus. Again I say rejoice. But beware of the clever deceivers. Your weakness to speak-up will be their strength.
I feel your sadness, my brother. I'm in a similar position with the United Methodist Church here in the States. God hasn't led me out yet, but I won't be surprised when He does. I'll be sad, much as you are, having spent my life in the Methodist church, but then it is sad when a church leaves its first love, isn't it?
I am a lifelong UMC member; and God has made it plain to me that I should leave the UMC. I am so, so sad, as if my local church doesn’t leave UMC I will be leaving behind my church family. Bereavement is a very apt, accurate term.
Ohio U.S.A. having the same problem here Finding a church that believes in what God's Word says over man's word Haven't found a church yet And they don't like it when you ask what they believe So I keep studying and reading the Bible, and praying for a church
I understand your sadness. Just remember the church is really the body of Christ. My dear late Father was a preacher in the Methodist Church. The beloved Wesleys would be heartbroken. I know you are on the right path and I can hear and see you love Jesus. We know that Jesus warned us about these things. Things are not falling apart but falling into place. He is soon returning. He is still in control and always will. God bless you my brother in Christ.
In the past few years my family has had issues with the Methodist Church. I am 70 years old. My grandparents, living in a rural community, established a Methodist Church in their community. When I say established, I mean they donated land, and contributed to the building and maintenance of that establishment. The community of this specific church has found the current doctrine, lacking at best. So they decided they wanted to break away. They had a meeting and were told that if they tried to separate from the church, they would lose the land and the building, as well as the funds that were currently contributed. Their hands were tied. Either go along, or lose everything. You decide what that says. They are currently remaining with the church as it is.
The Methodist church in British Gibraltar has also split from the Methodist church UK due to it's apostasy. This is the correct thing to do as it honors Christ. They have even changed its name. My Church, Newlife Church Gibraltar, a reformed denomination fully support this move. God bless you brother.
I praise Jesus for his inclusive approach to his congregation. Jesus said noting about LGBTQ+ people. This is meaningful. God created man and woman in his broad image and that includes LGBTQ+ people like me. I thank God for opening the minds of our great church and for welcoming all his children into faith. God works in mysterious ways, and this has sent a message of inclusion, not exclusion.
God's love is for every single person. Jesus calls us to him, but he doesn't leave us there; he calls us to a transformed life, lived in obedience to him. My point isn't specifically about LGBTQ+ people, it is about God's design for marriage.
I left the Methodist Church when the drift away from Biblical dependence in 1970. It has just gotten worse. I attend a church where the word of God is supreme and extremely relevant to today's society. The UMC will be gone within 10 years because it has nothing to stand on. Once you assume the Bible is just a suggestion for how to live life, and people know better, you are lost.
Good decision - I grew up in the Methodist Church in the 1960s onwards but now I am not a member and I’m glad I’m not involve anymore in the Apostate Church that it now is.
It's not just the Methodist church, sadly. The Lutheran chuch ELCA has also lost It's way. I'm struggling to find a church that preaches gospel and law. I haven't yet found one.
I am so sorry because it's almost like a death in the family when something like this happens. I was raised in the Disciples of Christ Church that went so totally liberal. I left in my early twenties because the pastor that replaced the other one that I grew up with started honing in on the women of the church and I was the second one that he accosted. I left and went to the Assembly of God Church which for me at that time was wonderful later on I found out that our beloved organist choir director of the Christian church was replaced buy a homosexual man and he hired many homosexuals for the choir. No accountability. It's interesting how God moves us went from one place to another
We left our beloved Nazarene church because the pastor allowed his New Age, crystal advocating, yoga teaching sister who had her picture on Facebook in front of Hindu gods, to sing on the worship team.
God bless you my friend, from the Baptists in the USA. Jesus above ALL. He is either who He said He was, or He is not. you cant pick and choose. stay with Him, even if youre the only one. He went to the cross alone, so we should be willing to stand alone
In USA the United Name denotes the new Methodist church. The Global is the old ways Methodist - Wesleyan . The Episcopal -Anglican church has also divided. On similar reasons.
Very sad for you. We are fighting the same challenge in the CoE even though the majority of Anglicans worldwide continue to affirm the clear teaching of Scripture on marriage and sexuality. I have no doubt that John and Charles Wesley would not recognise British Methodism now in large part or much of what goes for British Anglicanism. We continue to pray and trust that Jesus will continue to build his church and that he would give us the grace to affirm Scripture and glory in a unique Saviour and salvation. A
I am in a real conundrum I want to leave my Methodist church because I don’t agree with their decision to do same sex marriages. They are now treading into the social justice campaign and the suggested reading materials are pro same sex ideology and “woke” Our minister is self proffessing gay man and comes to us from the American Methodist church. He is a lovely guy but fully prescribes to the same sex marriage view. I’m concerned about where this social justice advent study is going now I’ve seen what our church’s suggested reading is. My issue is I’m heavily involved in the running of youth groups where we give the gospel to non church children and young people. If I leave the whole youth work will fold. But I can’t bare the thought of funnelling them into a church that will give them a false doctrine. I think the assumption has been made by some that because I have not left that I have changed my mind about the same sex marriage vote despite my being very clear I did not agree and never would. If I leave, these kids stop getting the gospel message. I am not allowed to help run the youth and attend another church. I feel responsible for these youngsters but have no where sound to send them to church. 😢 my families relationship with God and the church is struggling. Many left after the vote past that held our view. But how do I walk away from the kids? 😢 I’ve begged God for direction on this. I can not shake the feeling that we need to find a new church but if I leave the folding of the youth ministry will be my fault. The minister knows we as a youth team don’t agree with same sex marriage as far as I know. But we rarely see him. Desperately want to move to a new church but can’t abandon the team and the kids 😭 any advice welcome!
Hi Rachael, I really do empathise with your situation, so difficult to know which is the right way. I have friends who have decided, like myself, that they have no option but to leave the Methodist Church of Great Britain because of the direction of travel on issues such as marriage & relationships etc. On the other hand, I have other friends who feel that they need to stay (at least for the time being), preach the Biblical gospel, and nurture those under their care. One of my friends was a pastor of a local Methodist church and had similar feelings to those you express - what happens to his people if he leaves? In the end he took the difficult decision to leave. Personally, I am now part of an Anglican church, where the vicar is Jesus-centred and Bible-believing, and has welcomed me to get involved in various aspects of ministry. Having said that, the Anglican Church itself is facing struggles with the marriage & relationships issue. Much prayer is needed. I can't really advise you which way to go, but I will pray for you, that God will make the path clear. Pleae know that God loves those young people, and even if you do decide to leave, he will continue to watch over them. Thank you for being faithful to the gospel. God bless you, Steve
This is Satan at work in the church, separating us from God! You should not fear as God allows this to happen as part of his overall plan for his thought and ways are higher than ours.
how do i find a global methodist thought at least i would be pastor of the same church grandad pastored however it is closed and for sale for $140K my former sunday school teacher on her visit to London got in the same pulpit Wesley preached from
Here in the U.S. there was a Methodist church near my house and they got a new pastor a women and she was a lesbian that was like 20 years ago so there's definitely a problem with the Methodist church i don't know what bible they use but mine doesn't allow a women or lesbian to pastor a church but that's how you know it's the end of time a lot of my neighbors went to church there and laughed about it i guess in the end we will see what GOD Judgment will be
The Bible is not a Chinese takeaway menu where you can pick what you want. So many churches around the world are going through the same changes, bowing to social and cultural changes instead of staying faithful to the word of God. Judgment is coming.
My brother! We are feeling the same grief here in the US. God bless you in your journey, and in the work that lies ahead for you. You are not alone. ❤
God bless you in the battle 🙏

I admire your commitment to truth. Thank you and God bless you.
God bless you
So far as I know, none of my ancestors was ever a methodist.
(By the way, I offered that same advice to both conservative and progressive clergy.)
So far as I know, there is only one Free Methodist congregation in Maine where we live now.
I get too choked up to read the last part of that song aloud -
All ye beneath life's crushing load
Whose forms are bending low
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow,
Look now for glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing.
O rest beside the weary road
And hear the angels sing.

Young families left for the non-denominational church with a former Dutch Reformed pastor who preached "fluff."
Frankly, a lot of people would have stayed, if either pastor preached fluff.
I was already raised in Southern Baptist, but know I am attending the Orthodox church now. Most likely, I will be chrismated this year.

God bless you Pastor be happy that God will be using you where you are welcomed, welcome home from the US!
Thank you for standing up for truth. And the word.
Try to find a reformed Baptist or Presbyterian PCA
My story is somewhat the same. I was raised in the Methodist church. I left about a year and a half ago. 58 years. I am still sad about it. I go with my wife to her church but I miss several things. The absolute non teaching the Bible is terrible and changing the definition of gender is abhorrent. Still makes me sad though.
Its heartbreaking to see Church leadership in the US and UK (as well apparently) seemingly trying to destroy their denominations
It corresponds with the rise of women in leadership positions. There. I said it.

Thank you. God bless you, too
I was raised United Methodist. We are going through the same here in our church. Our little country church is closing after 175 years. Very sad. Conference left this slip by too long.
Converted from Baptist to Catholic and finaly to Eastern Orthodoxy. Best decision ever.

Many churches?
How about the vast majority, easily identified by Sunday keeping. Now your statement about what's important is appropriate.
On page 38 it says:
"After all, fundamentalists meet for worship on Sunday, yet there is no evidence in the Bible that corporate worship was to be made on Sundays.
1 John 2:3-4
At the very end of the Bible
The blessed are identified.
Rev. 22:14
You want to go with a church, or God? Just asking for a friend.
@@eltonron1558 I agree with you. The seventh day Sabbath was sanctified at creation; long before there were any Jews or children of Israel. The term "Jewish Sabbath" is a misnomer that's commonly used. Karl Keating, I'm sure, is well aware of that.
The word "Jew" is a contraction of the name "Judah." The tribe of Judah, part of Benjamin and some of the Levites stayed with King David and his descendants. In time those who continued to worship with the descendants of Judah whether from that or another tribe came to be known as Jews.
Take heart there is a remnant who have not bent their knees to the baals.
The Truth will set you free. I believe there will be more in the future that will try to change the truth and turn away from the real truth, but our Gods Word has stood up to many years of fighting, apostacy and heresy.
The Methodist Church doesn’t want you in there because you’re telling the truth and the devil has them wrapped up, live in a life of sin

the Word of God as presented in the Bible is the law for people to live by.
I will look at your channel and hope someday to hear you preach. have found. May God bless you!

Churches in America are not "Jesus churches" because in most of them: scriptures and ceremonies are the most important part of their worship.
Jesus is noticeably missing!
Did Jesus want a "theological church?"
No,
He wanted a church that reached out to the poor and the suffering!
The Methodist Church will end up bankrupt because the traditionalists pay all the bills.
You Know it!
Try the Methodist Church in Ireland, we need ministers badly, both north and south
My prayers are with you.
The road of tolerance is a two way street. If we have to accept other peoples opinions, then they have to accept ours...
Seems God's opinion should be front & center & man's opinion best left as such for those disregarding God's Word.
@@barbs1298 OK?
God bless you sir.
Plant a new Church for the GMC. That's what we did.
It certainly is 😔
I am a lifelong UMC member; and God has made it plain to me that I should leave the UMC. I am so, so sad, as if my local church doesn’t leave UMC I will be leaving behind my church family. Bereavement is a very apt, accurate term.
Virtually all the mainstream churches have gone, or are going, this way, even the Roman Catholic Church!
This is a battle for which I believe you are correct, good luck and good faith in Christ Jesus

having the same problem here
Finding a church that believes in what God's Word says over man's word
Haven't found a church yet
And they don't like it when you ask what they believe
So I keep studying and reading the Bible, and praying for a church
Praying that you find the right church to nurture and encorage you
God bless you.
Brother, I pray for you today, am a Catholic here in America. All the best to you Sir.
Thank you. God bless you 🙏
I understand your sadness.
Very sad 😔
The Methodist church in British Gibraltar has also split from the Methodist church UK due to it's apostasy.
This is the correct thing to do as it honors Christ.
They have even changed its name.
My Church, Newlife Church Gibraltar, a reformed denomination fully support this move.
God bless you brother.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Your defense of the Biblical doctrines surrounding marriage is inspiring to this Lutheran!
Hopefully a LCMS or WELS Lutheran, as the ELCA is a leader in wokeness.
Sorry to hear that. Praying that you find the right church 🙏
Protestant chruches since 5 years after Luther only resolve orthodoxy issues by splitting chruches...sola scriptura has been a failure from the get-go
Come out of her My people.
God bless you
God bless you my friend, from the Baptists in the USA. Jesus above ALL. He is either who He said He was, or He is not. you cant pick and choose. stay with Him, even if youre the only one. He went to the cross alone, so we should be willing to stand alone
Thank you. God bless you, too
In USA the United Name denotes the new Methodist church.
They are now treading into the social justice campaign and the suggested reading materials are pro same sex ideology and “woke”
Our minister is self proffessing gay man and comes to us from the American Methodist church.
@@steveclark4767thank you Steve and thank you so much for sharing your story! It gave me hope.
God Bless you
This is Satan at work in the church, separating us from God! You should not fear as God allows this to happen as part of his overall plan for his thought and ways are higher than ours.
Glad you stood your ground. God Bless you.
how do i find a global methodist thought at least i would be pastor of the same church grandad pastored however it is closed and for sale for $140K my
former sunday school teacher on her visit to London got in the same pulpit Wesley preached from
Praying you will find the right opportunity to serve
Here in the U.S. there was a Methodist church near my house and they got a new pastor a women and she was a lesbian that was like 20 years ago so there's definitely a problem with the Methodist church i don't know what bible they use but mine doesn't allow a women or lesbian to pastor a church but that's how you know it's the end of time a lot of my neighbors went to church there and laughed about it i guess in the end we will see what GOD Judgment will be
Never play chance with God
Stand on God's word at all times
Jesus is soon to come be ready
The Bible is not a Chinese takeaway menu where you can pick what you want. So many churches around the world are going through the same changes, bowing to social and cultural changes instead of staying faithful to the word of God. Judgment is coming.
