@AaronBailey-uw7lg So how do you square the fact that Paul converted the Ephesians, Corinthians, Cretans, Greeks, etc.and never made use of ANY of the Old Testament? I've got news for you, these Gentile converts wouldn't hear about Moses until about 300 years after Paul's death. They wouldn't have any knowledge about the 10 or any other old Testament commandments for three centuries, at LEAST. Why would GENTILES know anything about Jewish law? Paul did not preach Judaism, Jewish customs or traditions to the people of the Eastern Roman Empire. And yet they were baptized and made Christan. just as much as those in Jerusalem who HAD been Jews.

Afterwards, he asked us why. When I truthfully told him, he just turned and walked away. 1 Corinthians 3 verse 16. They believe they can hide behind a church here on earth. This verse is critical. 'They' will give an accounting DIRECTLY to Jesus. 'They' need to be made to understand this otherwise, there is a chance 'they' were not saved and will not be saved.

I am a traditionalist in the UMC- they do need to repent, but they are not apostate. They are misguided and heterodox, and some leaders are heretics. The church itself is not apostate. If it were apostate, it would be universalist completely, instead it is heterodox on the issue of homosexuality.
And if you think that most United Methodists are heretics, then you haven’t heard of the Reconquista.

I have been attending a small United Methodist, a beautiful old church with elderly people; maybe about 15 in attendance each Sunday, many in their 80's. They have gone all their lives to this church as their ancestors, this old relic of a church, being built in the 1800's. Then, about 3 Sundays ago, a letter was read by the minister affirming what this article shares, which my bonus granddaughter heard.... (We raise her & a long story, but I have known her only about 3 years, and church has not been a part of her life before me.)
We are all sinners, and church is a hard place at times to enter because of life choices, which is sad too.
When I became 'Born Again', 'my sweet friend, witness of Jesus' wrapped me in Jesus' love without uplifting my sin. I heard His Words - sin no more....
And it has taken time, but how grateful I heard 'love & sin no more...'
My point is this: when talking with a board member & pastor, I was told I was judgemental because I objected to the Church Governing body, changing, ignoring the Holy Words of God we all have lifted in prayers together; it is so sad.
I can handle this because l know His Truth... my granddaughter does not.
I have a home church I have gone to for years, but due to moving, I have attended this little church because it is right around our country corner.
But so many caught off guard, so many believing the words "you are judgmental."
Please pray for our little church, the elderly here, and sadly the defense of the church by accusing those who object as being judgmental...

I understand how you feel, but I really believe that a good church is more than just nice to have: it's really a necessity. For years, I've been living off of teachings from some truly excellent media ministers (many of which I discovered through TBN), but I've found that, despite the extremely edifying things I've received from them, I often find myself having an extremely hard time applying everything I learn from them. I've often said to my heavenly Father, "I really wish that I had someone more spiritually mature than me to help me understand some things." Praise God, I've been squeaking by with virtually nobody other than the Holy Spirit as my comforter, but I really don't want to continue keeping to myself like this. I'm currently seeking God so that I may find the courage to go out and find a church to regularly attend (I'm not used to being around strangers, and I have no friends besides my own family!). But in the meantime, I'm not going to make any excuses for being confused. I've been receiving some truly transformative revelations recently as I continue to seek to live by faith and please God in all areas of life, and I'm confident that the Lord will continue to strengthen me through Christ to do His will. He's been very merciful to me even though I don't have the benefit of a good church right now, but there's no doubt in my mind that His best for us includes being united with other members of the body of Christ. I look forward to not just being blessed by others, but also being a blessing to my fellow saints!
