If anything, they said Redemption 2 because the common market doesn't even know nor care that Revolver ever existed. Metal Gear Solid did the same thing and it only got away with it because usually only fans of MGS or newcomers were playing Snake Eater, but no one knew it was a prequel for sure until later in the game despite all the hints it dropped (at least from my experience through years of friends asking me very confused questions about it after I played it). We all know Redemption 2 is a prequel, but the theme of their naming was so far off that back when everyone was asking for another installment into the Red Dead franchise, I found that people who didn't even know about Revolver were asking it to have a different R title like Resurrection of Revolution. Maybe this is all nuance, but that was why the announcement of The Redemptioning was so jarring me and many others of my friends. Not that its the only belief, but it seems I'm not alone in that. TL;DR There is nothing wrong with calling it 2, it's just weird compared to the rest of the series.

It's because it's a direct prequel to Redemptions storyline. Revolver is in no way connected to the story of Redemption.
Kawaii Stefan We all already know that, it doesn't make any more sense to do it that way though. If anything, they said Redemption 2 because the common market doesn't even know nor care that Revolver ever existed. Metal Gear Solid did the same thing and it only got away with it because usually only fans of MGS or newcomers were playing Snake Eater, but no one knew it was a prequel for sure until later in the game despite all the hints it dropped (at least from my experience through years of friends asking me very confused questions about it after I played it). We all know Redemption 2 is a prequel, but the theme of their naming was so far off that back when everyone was asking for another installment into the Red Dead franchise, I found that people who didn't even know about Revolver were asking it to have a different R title like Resurrection of Revolution. Maybe this is all nuance, but that was why the announcement of The Redemptioning was so jarring me and many others of my friends. Not that its the only belief, but it seems I'm not alone in that.
TL;DR
There is nothing wrong with calling it 2, it's just weird compared to the rest of the series.

Does anyone else think woolie really doesn't like pat? On top of the difference between the flow of conversations (woolie doesn't mind being interrupted by Matt, clearly hates being interrupted by pat), his body language kinda screams it. Far less eye contact, head almost always angled towards Matt. It's how you act when you're trying to freeze someone out of a conversation without overt aggression.
