He was cruel, but when compared to other rulers of his time, he was simply a very efficient administrator. For the 1400's he was an exceptionnaly good ruler, but one that had 0 tolerence and would give one hell of a show when he punished. The economy bloomed, cities were built, castles were built, the people was protected from the noble, there was some level of meritocracy, allowing peasants to rise to nobility and acquire lands and crimes rates were low. Meanwhile, half of Europe rulers were inbred imbecile, that kept getting drunk and didn't care about the people (I'm exagerating obviously).

@@Knowledgia "Now you can see Hungary being a historical state and "Romania" being nowhere as it was invented at the end of the 19th century.
There were Moldavians (peoples of Mongol-Tatar, Cuman, Pecheneg, Bulgarian, Russian, Hungarian etc origin) and there were Wallachians (the founder of the House of Basarab was of Mongol-Tatar origin as descendant of Ghengis Khan, son of Tihomir). No medieval "Romanian" chronicles, no written sources up until the 16 century written in Cyrillic alphabet used until the end of the 19th century when they got freed from Ottoman rule; as there were no "Romanians" before the end of the 19th century when it was invented. Vlachs, the shepherds of the Balkans started to infiltrate to the historical state Kingdom of Hungary for better life and were peasants in rural areas.
Vlad Tepes has got its name Dracul on the membership of the Hungarian Order of the Dragon and was a vassal of the King of Hungary.
Cities of the Kingdom of Hungary shown in the video are Segesvár, Brassó, Temesvár, Nagyszeben etc. Vlach peasants tried to pronounce them and so was "Sigisoara" born but it means nothing unlike but is the mimicking of its Hungarian name by hearing.
Speaking about "Romanians" before the early 20th century is historically nonsense as the peoples of Moldavia (Hungarian, Polish , Russian and Ottoman vassal principality and never a kingdom) and the peoples of Wallachia (Hungarian, Ottoman vassal principality and never a kingdom) themselves did not reckon being "Romanian"...
By the end of the First World War, after switching sides as a defeated newly born state (with imported German king) one day before the end of the war, it got Transylvania as a war present for free. It has nothing to do with history, justice or historical rights.
You can see with your own eyes Transylvania was always Hungarian and Hungary must get back Transylvania. Once - if not tomorrow then later - but Hungary will take back its historical cities and land it has built, protected for a millenium!"

It’s amazing that this individual is known today primarily because of Bram Stoker’s tale. It is somewhat unsurprising in light of that, however, that what is remembered of him is his cruelty. Hearing and seeing your account of him here has at the very least given me more information to consider when evaluating a particular person and moment in history. The story about the trader and the ducat is on par with Solomon and the two women claiming to be the mother of a child! Very much looking forward to part II!

yesca jasta I was merely stating that the way he is remembered is unsurprising in light of the vehicle which has brought his name to most people’s attention. In his day that cruelty required context in order to be of any use and, historically speaking, removing that context reduces him to mere trivia...and he was certainly no trivial figure during his reign. Certainly he deserves some credit for successfully resisting the Turks?

They would go around house to house and harass people till they gave goods, mostly by using their Christian morals as leverage but also threatening with curses. These were people who took advantage of Jesus’ teachings. I can see why Vlad killed them off, and the people must have given a secret sigh of relief.

"Dracul" you shoul read it like Dracool, but you have to put your accent on the first vocal, on "a". "Radu" is Radoo, same thing with the accent on "a". Anywhere you meet "u" is in fact "oo". You got Mircea perfect.

    • @beasix9384
      @beasix9384 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@The Chosen One I prefer facts from the horse mouth and from what we know, that child killer was sliced into bits and his body parts were put on display throughout the empire...
As for Radu, he was a devout believer and commander of janissary forces. He was responsible for putting 30,000 shiite safawid terrorists to death as well as playing major role in the capture of constantinople.
When his father died, both the brothers were given the opportunity to by the sultan to go back and take care of his dominion however Radu refused whilst Vlad became trecherous and betrayed his ottoman masters.
Radu also smashed his brothers forces after vlads initial rampage and was king up until his natural death, after which vlad re captured that territory.
Vlads behaviour in all honesty would make even Hitler blush..

    • @beasix9384
      @beasix9384 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@The Chosen One dear friend vlad was not a good guy. He commit crimes against fellow Christians and his issue wasn't with ottoman oppression rather vengeance for his father giving in to the ottomans. His father realised earlier on he was better off under the ottomans since they were seen to be far more just than those Christian rulers around him. Vlad knew this well thus hated his father.
      This is a fact.
The ottomans were a multicultural empire whose people for most part loved their rulers..sure they had revolutions and uprisings towards the end but unlike anywhere in the rest of the word, everybody had rights they were happy with.. Jews Muslims Christians atheists all lived together.. And dont give me crap about dhimmi.. A dhimmi has more rights than even Christians were afforded under their greedy fat gluttonous overlord.. Ottomans by comparison were angels..
Christian Europe on the other hand was racist, looked down upon black people as animals and anything that didnt believe in a triune God was the spawn of Satan..
As for radu and the Christian propaganda you spew, its all fantasy from a Christian mindset.
You see, unlike you folks out clergy are not known for sexual abuse.. But especially of boys.. This is specifically a Christian past time, hobby and trait so it's no surprise you'd want to tarnish us with your crimes just so you can sleep better at night..
If someone abused me I would plan day and night how to kill him, not to fight for him and place my utmost devotion to him..
Heck, is even distance myself from his religion.. Clearly with Radu, we see the complete opposite..
We have many more famous janissaries but radu stands out because of his brother and what he did for the empire.. We have everything documented just as we have prophets Muhammad's words documented.. What have you documented?
Nothing! so you use you perverted mind for conjecture and wishful thinking..
And dear friend I'm a convert to Islam.
I didn't always bat for this side..not that long ago I was very anti Islam and was also extremely brainwashed...i thank my creator for guiding me to the truth..
And forgive me if I come across rudeness.. Its not personal nor intended..

    • @beasix9384
      @beasix9384 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@The Chosen One Vlad did weed out curruption and no doubt he did a lot of good for those that supported him but that's not what we're talking about here.
Take ISIS in Syria for example..regardless of how the media portrayed them, they did do positive things on the ground to win over hearts and minds with many preferring their rule over the Pro Western rebel forces who were seen to be currupt...which of course, many were..
But as soon as isis were seen to be doings things anti thetical to Islam, 99.9999 percent of the Muslim population turned their backs on them and now hate isis with a vengeance.
You see dear friend, although isis emerged due to the Iraqi invasion and the mindless atrocities commited by shiite death squads soon after, isis had every right to exist and its existence was justified but here is the thing...
A practicing Muslim won't support someone simply for the sake of supporting even though to an outsider it would seem the obvious choice...to support said group of course and the reason Muslims don't support them is largely due to the fact that they take their religion seriously and the acts of isis were in clear violation of the scripture..isis also believed the end justifies the means and that is also against islam.
Now we have yourself who looks at this particular part of history through these peculiar lens whereby the evil of a man is ignored due to your belief, in this instance at least is that the end justifies the means..
Thats what your saying in regards to Vlad, right?
Regardless of what he did, he did for the best, right?
Vlad was in clear violation of all norms of war and peace and human values...he did things no one ever did at that time with his level of barbarity....
His mindless killing of Entire villages of Muslims and Muslim sympathising Christians just took his reputation to another level... And he did this over and over and over again.. Forget the stakes. You rallyaught to read history from the perspective of the other side.
It may surprise you...and ottomans were not liars btw..
Vlad was also Trecherous and broke his word on a whim.. This was a trait of his.
The ottomans were many things but no one can ever accuse them of trechary, violating treaties or killing women and children... It just didn't happen.
And as for this revisionist history.. Lol
All agenda driven.. This academic war on Islam is an extension of the war on Islam.. All lies and fabrications btw.. Scraping the barrel to stop the rise and rise of Islam..
And btw did you know in a period of 10 years, 100,000 brits covered to Islam with 33 percent being women?
Amd the numbers and higher for Germany and France.. Why is this, do you know?
And ease don't take offence with my language and I apolosie for earlier. I didnt mean to come across negatively. I deal with proper brainwashed lunatics on youtube who spread hate and seek violence and unfortunately my language just came across when replying to you. Sorry about that. Your not like those idiots...

    • @beasix9384
      @beasix9384 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@The Chosen One For all the good Vlad did, my scripture stipulates that no one knows who will be in the hell fire and who will end up in the Garden..
And on that basis it's up to our creator to decide where we all end up, not you nor I nor any Muslim either.
We are judged based on what is in the heart at the moment of death..
There will be people who believe in their creator but during the moment of death, their hearts will decline at that beautiful worldly inclination to God they once had thus forfeit all the good they did in this life to something more suited to the heart, in the hereafter.
As for some who disvelieved in this life, upon their death, a realisation will manifest whereby they became believers.. This is what my creator informs me of when it comes to the mankind and how not to judge others.
We are judged purely based on our Intentions, meaning, should we both take the same action on any given matter, even if we make the same decision, its our intentions that will ultimately decide its virtue -
Whether it was the right or the wrong thing to do.
Basically, if Vlad, in full integrity did what he did in the assumption that what he did was purely for good and he didn't know any better, he will be judged according to what was in his heart.
      This is what Islam stipulates.
I can have an opinion and so can you but the only informed decision belongs to our creator and our creator alone..
We are brothers just as Vlad is our brother and one day Vlad will be resurrected to explain what he did just as you and I will for how we lived our life.
I cannot help him on that day and nor can he help you. Our support or hatred for him will yield us no benefit on that day...
And spirituality, it doesn't truly exist anywhere outside of Islam. What's exists is ego and delusion.
All religions have been bought and are now dead / inactive...islam however is thriving due to exponential growth in all age groups and races.. .. I have stastical date to prove this..ill forward this to you if you want. There is good reason for this but we will discuss that another time..
You See, I always believed in a multiverse. Believed spaceships and time machines will one day manifest..
I Believed more than what what's apparant..i believed we after death go from one plane to another.. One dimension to another.. One form of energy to another. This at the end of the day is what science also asserts.
Well, when I gradually understood everything I thought for myself, Islam had asserted... Well.. I was just blown away... I still continue to be blown away by what I'm learning and I'd love to de ate these things with you in a positive and productive way.. Maybe you can learn from me and I from you..
As for my conversion, i went looking for errors but it led me to the truth...
It gave me clarity and 1m percent certainly of everything that I always knew in the back of my mind.. It gave me peace of mind and Now I'm in compete inner peace and harmony with myself.. I'm not a closet racist anymore.
Please dear friend read the quran in your native tongue and do it for the sake of acdemia..read.. learn....understand...reflect and try to debunk.. Look for errors and contradictions.. Read it in context and back to back...
This life is like us as a bird trapped in a cage but with the cage being the human body and the bird being the human soul..
The REAL fun adventurous everlasting life is yet to come and only those worthy of eternal life will make it through.
My wish is for everyone to get through because at the end of the day we are all one family..
Can you imagine Vlad and the sultans sitting on a fat sofa in paradise discussing their war tactics of old..
In this weird and wonderful quantum mechanical world, one cannot ever count anything out... Lol
Maybe next time we can discuss theology. I'd like that.. What I'd like more is for you to enter paradise as my brother.. Enter paradise after you escape your current physical form and traverse the multiverse in our own spaceships far above this dimension.. Lol.
Take care and good night mate... Its been nice taking to you..

You could not "ally" with them without bending the knee & paying an yearly hefty tribute. Some of which consisted of *children* - sent to be raised in the Ottoman Is/lamic way & later supplement their armies.
You had a subservient position under the Empire & the end goal was to become a M/uslim nation. How is that better than the other empires, lol?

@@dyawr just picture the wallachians and moldavians with the jannessaries kneeling europe. they were just church puppets. 200 years later, Mihai the Brave was killed by the habsburgic empire (by the allies). this is the result of the choices made in the past by the other leaders. in theory, you just can’t fight against the force of nature, someone just needs to cope with it. this is why this nation didn’ t have time to evolve because they had to defend those bastards and sacrifice their blood.

@@judahslioncub5840 Uh, no - they fought for themselves, first and foremost. For their independence. And as a result of these choices, the unifications in 1859 and 1918 happened.
Anyway, Wallachia and Moldavia did fall and were Ottoman vassals for a good 3-400 years, for the most part. Still, they wanted to free themselves from the empire... of course!
_"they were just church puppets"_ - which Church? Constantinople fell in the 1400's & that was the head of the Byzantine Church.
Romanians were Orthodox, they didn't follow Pope's sovereignty or the Catholic Church. And lastly - *Christianity was Romanians' identity and religion!*
What do you mean they should've *"allied with the Ottomans"* ? (and treaties were signed with the Ottomans, anyway) Or that they were "puppets of the Church"?
The Ottomans wanted to Islamize the lands they conquered! *They wanted to subjugate Chris/tianity!* Romanians were fighting for their religion and way of life, against a conquering enemy!
I don't understand the angle you are coming from with this - if you're a muslim or what. But Romanians *were Europe.* (part of Europe, I mean)

You completely left out the Ottoman siege of Belgrade, which was the event that allowed both Vlad and Stephen to make their bid for their thrones, while the Turks had most of their forces at Belgrade, or in the case of Stephen, were still licking their wounds. You didn't even move the flags, even though it was led by Mehmed II himself. It was the Sultan's first and most humiliating defeat, after his conquest on Constantinople-- which you also left out!
The period where Vlad and Stephen were fugitives from both Hunyadi and Vladislav II could have also used some major elaboration. This lasted for over a year, during which time they didn't simply bounce between Brasov and Sibiu, or remain "in hiding" in that same area. I'll give you a hint: You need a bigger map!
