To be fair, a lot of smaller restaurants where I live, on the East Coast in Newfoundland, their appetizers are quite filling. A full bowl of soup for 5 bucks, you can't beat it.
Same, so I can eat more different things instead of a lot of the same thing! Bigger the group, the better. You can a bite of each dish and have a festival of flavours and textures!
@@lykadarna they edit it very well but the episodes take far longer to film so if a screw up like that were to happen they would just allow them to go remake it. That's also why you never see a chef not make it to the display table with their dish in time, there have been instances where the guy on the back row has less than 10 seconds to get up there while still at his station plating...it's just not possible. They also will occasionally have them redo screwups in a bigger way for more dramatic effect. Long story short, they typically have plenty of time to do everything (except for the pressure tests) and not trip or anything.
that’s maybe one of the reasons why the finalists (top 2) usually make 4 dishes instead of 3 during the finals,,, i think it acts as a back up for the possibility of the waiters dropping their dish

They are for pompous people but they allow a chef to charge higher prices because of the prestige surrounding them.
