Some people also clean the filter inside the pan, and change the rubber seal, about every 5000mi especially in Colombia, its yellow😊 with a mesh screen inside and a thick black rubber seal.

You cut to filling it without explaining that is on the other side of the bike so I was really confused for a minute until I realized the bike was flipped in that frame and walked around my bike and saw it. 🤦‍♀️🤣

When I did some research I learned that 2.1qt is 2qt plus 3.2oz or else you'll be short 3.2oz if you only add 2qt.????

Service manual specifies how much oil to put in the bike after the filter is removed. Filling the filter and also putting 2L in the bike would actually be too much oil

If you don't fill the filter, starting up the bike will immediately pull oil into the filter, and your sight glass will then read low, meaning you will need to add more oil. Doing it this way means you don't have to add oil at the end of the process. It's really up to you, you are using the same amount of oil.

Great vid! Do you happen to know what size crush washer I need? It seems to be M12 1.5 from what I've seen, but it's hard to source an accurate size on Amazon.

Hi, can i change oil without replacing the drain bolt washer? Thanks..

The washer is a crush washer, that compresses when you tighten it to the mfg specs, so we highly recommend using a new one.

How often are you supposed to change it? I have a 2022 Z400 with about 3800 miles.

every 3,000 miles or once a year if you store it over winter or just don't ride often, at least that is my cycle

The book says 12.9ft-lbs for oil filter and 22ft-lbs for drain bolt? is it true or is kawasaki lying?😮

The book is always your best source of truth. In this video, we're relying more on experience than anything else.
