James and Tom give the BondBoard treatment to Roger Moore's final Bond film. 1985. Christopher Walken. Grace Jones. Microchips. Half a Renault. Enjoy, folks.
Another great episode! A bit of trivia from me if that's OK: David Yip had a more significant role, lead actor in an early 80s series called The Chinese Detective. Patrick Bauchau played one of the murderers caught by the brilliant Columbo. Muck like OHMSS, I loved this film from the start. Admittedly, it's elevated by the presence of Christopher Walken & Grace Jones, both of whom are brilliant, possibly my favourite pairing of villain & henchman. Thanks for playing the bit of the score with the tabla. ♡ Ted is a welcome treasure. Hopefully, he gets to continue to take part in one piece! 😅 I, too, love the scenes with 'Steed' & 'Templar', clearly having a lot of fun. Onto a new era of Bond...exciting, 'til next time. ps James's Pingu t shirt rocks! I want one...
Another great, fun episode chaps 👏. A fun fact about Alison Doody, who appeared in films with three different Bonds. Roger, Sean and with Pierce in Taffin.
the song and the villain would both be a 10 for me. I went into this one knowing it was supposed to be one of the worst, but I loved it. every John Glen Bond is a masterpiece if you ask me.
The movie is not well-regarded in the community, but everytime I watch it I am surprised of how entertaining it is. I love the final act. You also forgot my favorite gag from when I saw the movie at nine years old: "the bubbles tickle my... Tchaikovsky!"
Without your rose tinted Roger Moore nostalgia sun glasses i think it would have scored just above OHMSS which is still amazing, it niggles me that my wife saw Bond before me, because her first boyfriend was a big Roger fan, my own was Daylights, up next. Looking forward to seeing how my own nostalgic film scores, will it beat the "daylights" out of Rogers last?
Excellent episode lads, and you definitely deserve more views than you're currently getting. Enjoyed T.E.D's debut too. Looking forward to the Dalton films, and your views on the Aha Theme Tune of course! I've always liked Dalton's portrayal of bond, and the darkness he brought to the role - brilliantly brought to screen again in Hot Fuzz of course :)
A View to a KIll isn't a good film per se, but it's a fun movie to watch, I think. A bit cringey but it's from the 80s, what do you expect? Roger's age probably wouldn't bother me that much if the movie acknowledged it a bit better, instead of pretending he's still a spry younger man in the action scenes (while Roger wheezes through them or an obvious stunt double does them.) Anyway, here's to the end of an era. What will we have in store for the Dalton movies? Scowl watch?
the thing about "bad" bond movies is that they're bad in all the ways that don't matter, and are good in the essential ways that make them impressive, entertaining, and comfy
@@craigluft7453 For the most part, I agree. Though, there are a couple, such as Spectre, Die Another Day or (if we're extending beyond official movies) Casino Royale '67, that (for me at least) I genuinely don't enjoy watching. But Roger Moore camp? Inject that into my veins!

X? That service run by an _actual Bond villain_?
😂
