Great debut from Dalton. Fantastic song (the AHA one) and an exciting opening sequence. While I agree that Kara is one of the better written 'Bond girl' characters, I find her annoying! My favourite scene is the kitchen fight. Surely an inspiration for the Bourne films? It's just brilliant, so well choreographed. Loved Necros. A 'Jackal' type assassin with 'Man Who Fell to Earth' vibes. I think the fact that the tube Koskov is travelling through has angles is a gag in itself. 😂 Thank you for the Pingu t shirt James, far too generous of you! ps best goddam parrot impression I've ever heard! 2025: Licence to Kill, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, can't wait! Happy New Year. 😊

That so called annoying bit of Cello is a section of Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B Minor. It took me a while to get used to, but it's now my favourite Cello concerto - you have to hear it with the full orchestra. In fact, I have feeling Christina's character owes something to Jacqueline Du Pre, one of the most famous, expressive and wonderful Cellists to perform it. Cello was my first instrument, hence the geeky knowledge on the subject!

This is my favorite Bond movie now but I'm glad I didn't see it as a kid, because I wouldn't have been able to follow it at all. No way could I have grasped the idea of embezzling Russian money for a weapons deal to do a drug deal and getting the money back to make that original weapons deal.

Cheers for the responses gents. For what it’s worth my favourite Bottom has always been the Wombles one. The flasher and the way Eddie says “Chocolate Hobnobs” has me in bits every time. Do love Gas and Terror too. One of those shows where there isn’t a weak link at all. Re Flash I’m a huge fan of Zarkov and Vultan especially, but think when Barin randomly comes out with “Freeze, you bloody bastards!” out of nowhere it carries on with the madness. On Bond. Moore is hands down my fave. All fun films and think his lower end stuff is as good as most of the better stuff of the rest. He’s just naturally charming and funny to boot. The best actor really does depend on what day it is. Toss up between Connery and Dalton. Feel latter did 2 classics and was solid in both. Connery in his imperious phase (FRWL-Tball) was arguably better but then he chucked in a few lessor performances.

Another great episode! A bit of trivia from me if that's OK: David Yip had a more significant role, lead actor in an early 80s series called The Chinese Detective. Patrick Bauchau played one of the murderers caught by the brilliant Columbo. Muck like OHMSS, I loved this film from the start. Admittedly, it's elevated by the presence of Christopher Walken & Grace Jones, both of whom are brilliant, possibly my favourite pairing of villain & henchman. Thanks for playing the bit of the score with the tabla. ♡ Ted is a welcome treasure. Hopefully, he gets to continue to take part in one piece! 😅 I, too, love the scenes with 'Steed' & 'Templar', clearly having a lot of fun. A View to a KIll isn't a good film per se, but it's a fun movie to watch, I think. A bit cringey but it's from the 80s, what do you expect? Roger's age probably wouldn't bother me that much if the movie acknowledged it a bit better, instead of pretending he's still a spry younger man in the action scenes (while Roger wheezes through them or an obvious stunt double does them.) Anyway, here's to the end of an era. What will we have in store for the Dalton movies? Scowl watch?

Another amazing episode, loved the reference to my childhood 'Playaway', but not sure how many viewers were alive then (I'm showing my age😂). Tom, I'm still having nightmares as I am petrified of clowns, including the bizarre Murano glass one that Mrs Wallis had on our windowsill in the 80s (bet she wishes she kept it as they are about £175 on Etsy 😂). She sends her best to you both and loving the shout outs. My dad would have loved this show and would have had his own scores for the Bondboard. I still think that you looked like Pennywise 😢. I thought that James was dressed as a turtle at first then remembered the submarine.😂 I was a passenger in a tuk tuk in India and Sri Lanka in 2014 and it was bloody hairy but brilliant at the same time, very much recommend. Anyhoo, my questions are: 1. If James Bond was to go fully electric, which current vehicle on the market would he drive? 2. To you both, which James Bond (out of the 7 that played him, including David Niven) or character from the films do you most resonate with, and why? Another great episode, but I knew it would be with that perfect thumbnail! James - I hope in time, you feel more proud of your costume, after all, you were a gadget! Gobinda is a dangerous type of villain, menacing & scary but so handsome. The scene with Bond, the tiger, and the snake, awful, but the tabla in that part of the score was lovely to hear. Wonderful to see gorgeous women in saris. Will the category name of 'villains' be changed to 'bastards'? My 2nd least favourite Bond theme song, but Tom's version was nicer. India has street animals today, like cows, goats, and donkeys. Most are owned by farmers and families. Were elephants working animals back then? Probably. My absolute favourite thing about this film is something Tom added to the episode, although I remember it as Karl Marx's dad. 🤣 Tom's Ninja music piece was brilliant. (Influenced by Georgio Moroder's Chase?) Loved The King of Comedy reference. And my favourite bit that I replayed several times is at 33s, an homage to the Muppets. ♡ When is the next episode? Thanks for the review, great entertainment, and it really is entertaining. Is your Questions and Answers going to be a “live stream” session, maybe at the end of the 25 film review you could do a live steam summary session. Never a fan of this film, the whole dressing up as a clown thing was a step too far for me. Plot was mad! The no problem line from the Taxi Driver was a call back to the now dead Vijay who used the “no problem” line as standard response, hence the music cue and look between Roger and Robert Brown. The Tarzan thing was awful, the “Sit” gag to the Tiger was a reference to Barbara Woodhouse ( you can see her on Utube) who had a UK TV series called Training Dogs in the 80’s, so dates it and looks stupid out of context, plus a wide wide audience would have no idea, what the joke was about. Thanks again, you guys are a Utube must watch.

Thought Carole Bouquet, was very wooden as an actress. “He killed my parents” Whilst I know it was meant to be a more grounded Bond film, how come that after running up all those steps to kill Locque, after he blew up the warehouse, how come Roger/Bond was not totally shagged out, totally unrealistic, any normal 54 year old would have been in pieces. Looks like we've found the next Blofeld! Someone let EON know for when they make the next Bond film (which, by the way things seem, is probably due around 2040.) As for the pre-title scene, I believe it was meant as a completely spiteful FU to McClory and the pending project that would be Never Say Never Again. The reason they could include the character who is so blatantly Blofeld, without the lawyers being involved, was because all the defining features of the character (bald, face obscured from the audience, white cat) are features that were established in the cinematic portrayal of the character, rather than his literary description, as well as them being pretty generic qualities, so McClory had no claim. Also, if I may make small creative suggestion: When you list all the movie rankings at the end, they are the same colour. May I suggest you highlight the current movie with a different colour, so its place in the ranking can be more easily spotted? (If it's not too much of a pain, of course.)

Hello again! Thanks for the insight into the opening scene. I’m sure there will plenty more legal dispute stuff to discuss next episode. And thanks for the suggestion. Bloody good idea. I will make it so.
