Thanks pal,
good work so far 👍
However, your custom container doesn't contain add to cart, begin checkout, page view, search, product view and payment events, nevertheless GTM code does.
Would be nice to extend your manual in order to add these conversions on GAds.
Great video, many thanks!
The conversion tracking will work for non enhanced conversions as well, correct?
Yes, the enhanced portion is just an additional variable
Great work! Would you recommend to set up the new conversion in Google Ads as a secondary conversion, then after 30 days switch to it as the primary when we see it is registering conversions?
Yes, this is typically what I recommend for two reasons:
1. Helps prevent accidental data loss
2. Allows the new conversion action to collect historical data for consistency with any existing smart bidding strategies
@@reeseagarcia I've now changed to the enhanced conversion, but i have an error "Needs attention,"Mismatched enhanced conversions configuration","Enhanced conversions configuration does not match upload type."
Any idea what could cause this? Our store is in Norway, could it be the formatting?
Is it okay to include the Content snippet and still follow the guide? What does it do?
In the GTM manager im getting a "Some of your pages are not tagged" and its only the homepage website - is it just because I need to wait until tomorrow for it to start working properly or is something amiss? I can send a screenshot, if you would be so kind to help a brother out ;)
The container file includes a google ads conversion tag, a custom event trigger for measuring purchase events, and all of the data layer variables you'll need to send transaction data and enhanced conversion data to google ads with your purchase events.
For the GTM warning, do you have any pages hosted outside of shopify? The custom pixel should all GTM to be present on all pages of your shopify site.
is not working.. trying to trigger "add to cart" but is inactive.. same with purchase. Should I uninstall google ads app?
No, I wouldn't recommend uninstalling the Google Ads app, because that shouldn't cause any interference with this method.
I recommend using the "Test" button in the same area where you can manage the shopify custom pixel. Because the javascript used for custom pixels is sandboxed, you won't be able to debug using the Google Tag Manager preview console. Should've included a testing section in the video. Sorry about that!
@@reeseagarciaall works - thank you!
Hi Reese, is it possible you can share how to add link click conversions tracking for Shopify/ Google ads?
why make things complicated? setting up a customised version instead of simply connecting the pre-existing shopify google ads app?
The app doesn’t offer data collection for enhanced conversions, which can result in fewer conversions recorded for purchases.
Thanks for the video! Sent you a LinkedIn request:) Got some questions.
