      You should see it as detected, once the action has been triggered. You can trigger the actions by performing all conversion actions, such as search, view collections, add to cart, begin checkout, purchase, etc etc. Than the next day, it should show as detected. And if you first click on your own ad, it will show as a conversion.

    How do I use this code with my existing customer event pixel code?I am using my customer event code but in this code I also wan to add your Google ads tracking code. How Can I modidy this?

      As to how to use with existing pixel code, it should work without any issues.

    Thank you very much for the video, it's a great help!
    I have a question. On the Shopify order, I see Google Ads conversions with a UTM going through and sometimes it doesn't come up correctly on the Google Ads account.
    Does this code prevent these problems? I've heard of server-side, does Google Tag Manager work this way?

      I don't know if the code will prevent this, the UTM's should come from Google, not the script. Regarding Server Side tracking, there are plenty of services online you can test.

    Great guy, great tutorial, now I will try to make this up and running.
    In this solution I am forced to do the data privacy consents inside shopify and not GTM, as the sandbox does not render any JS there?

      Pixels can run javascript, yes. My whole code is javascript.

      @@xiaolong321 My code, does not render any popups, or visual objects. So if you don't want to use GTM, on my website there is a version that directly sends data to google ads, without GTM.

    Thank you very much for such a detailed Tutorial! This is so great and I have all instructions to the letter. I have added out GA4 measurement id to the Google GA4 tags, but something has happened as our GA4 is not receiving any data anymore. What did I (probably) do wrong?

      For GA4, check the realtime preview, it should work without any extra steps. If it doesn't work, check if you added the measurement ID to both GA4 tags in GTM.

      @@feedarmy Thanks for your reply! I found out the reason behind the issue: No tags are firing in GTM because of a Cookiebot Consent Tag. The problem remains, though, as no tags are fired even when Consent has been given.
      As I understand it, all Google tags have built-in consent mode, so no extra config should be required. But I still think I'm missing a step here, to get all tags to fire after consent has been given.

      @@shnoopio There can be many issues, such as domain misconfiguration, you can test to set tracking to true in my code.

    Will the status turn Active automatically from disabled in a few ads or should I start running ads and then it will turn active?

      A conversion action will become detected if any sale takes place. A conversion action will become active, once a conversion takes place from an ad click.

    what if there are multiple countries in GMC, then what we gonna put in product country code?

      For my clients, when I setup multiple feeds for different countries, I ensure the IDs are the same, this to avoid having to setup multiple codes that will bloat your website.

I just want to ask you which of the 8 conversion actions need to use 1. the same value for each conversion and 2. different values for each conversion - I just want to make sure I'm doing this part of the set up right if you don't mind me asking

      @@JohnOHara-w6f The answer depends on your goals and tests, but for me, I recommend purchase to use conversion value, the rest, can be static. But do test yourself, every account is different.

    Thank you for your efforts to assist us "non coding" operators.I have implemented your pixel set up in shopify and GTM but I have a Inactive(Troubleshoot) status? If I am only looking to track purchases do I only set up the Feedarmy Purchase Tag in GTM with my conversion ID and Label or must I add this to all the tracking tags that i can see.Must I set the Shopify Pixel Purchase Conversion to Primary once it starts to record?

      Yes you can just use the purchase action, no need to add every conversion action. Make sure to wait 24 hours after everything is setup.
      Also make sure a purchase is made for it to activate.

    One more thing, everything is working perfectly fine except for the 'Page View' and 'Add to Cart' events. The 'Page View' is showing two views instead of one, even though I haven't duplicated any tags or made any errors. Similarly, the 'Add to Cart' event shows four counts for a single action, and occasionally two or three.
    Please explain what might be causing this, and how I can fix it? Thanks!

      The reason is that you have other code with the same events in your website, this will cause multiple tracking.

      In Google Merchant Center, go to Products, here you can see the ID type you are using. If you are not using Google Merchant Center, just leave it as default.

    Great work you're doing. A big compliment. 5 Stars!
    I have implemented your code and everything seems to be working well. I just have a question:
    When you hover over the info button in this video around 22:15 timestamp, I see the same thing as with me. Recording Coversions on green, Enhanced conversions on green. On me, only no consent mode is indicated.
    Now Google Ads says the last activity was on 12.09 and the last conversion was on 08.09. However, all my numbers remain at zero. Shouldn't there already be first metrics of cart value here?
    The only way I can measure the effectiveness of my Google Ads campaigns is through these measurements. Or is there another way?
    Help is appreciated.

      If consent mode is not enabled, have you checked that if your cookie consent mode works correctly?
      Do a test by clicking on add to cart, view the cart page, and begin checkout, the next day you should see it as dedected, if you want to check actual conversions, first click on your ad, then proceed to click on all the actions. It should show up in 24 hours.

    Hi Emmanuel, thank you so much for this video and code, super helpful and much appreciated. Can I ask for your advice please? We have been using the Shopify Google & TH-cam sales channel to track our conversion in Google ads via GA4. I have now installed the GTM Pixel to track conversions. Should I set the GTM Pixel to primary and the GA4 to secondary now, or get rid of the GA4 conversion tracking? Not sure I can do that tho if we are using the Shopify sales channel as a feed for Google merchant centre. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

      I would keep the GA4 conversion action as secondary so you can compare and see the difference. If you also install GA4 and disable google and youtube than the old action will stop working, but you can re-import the new GA4 conversions if you want to compare with that as well.

      Re-start the conversion action setup in Google ads and after scanning the website URL, make sure to choose google ads, if it says you are using google analytics.

    Thanks for an amazing tutorial! Quick question after completing the setup: When in GTM preview mode, the only tag I see firing is Conversion Linker. Is this how it should be, or should more of the newly created tags also fire?

      You can not view shopify pixels in preview mode, pixels run in sandbox mode -->> privacy reasons

      @@feedarmy Got it thanks. Just found the Test mode within Shopify to test these. Before activating all these within Google Ads, will this mess up my existing conversion tracking? (made 1 year ago and does not have accurate/reliable data nor does it have all the data your code provides) Or will Google continue to optimize with this new data source?

    Thanks for the video! Has there been a recent update to ads which prompted you to release it?
    The reason I ask is we had an existing conversion action which has recently stopped functioning, and the status is 'needs attention'.
    Wondering is it better to just follow your guidance and create a new tag and forget about the old one which no longer tracks purchases on our shopify store.

      I have been developing conversion tracking using pixels for the last half year or more. And this a new update to include micro conversions and 1 small fix regarding incorrect discounts on item level data. My conversion tracking has worked correctly since the beginning. When you install the code and it still does not work for you after 2 days, make sure to enable the thank you page, explained on my website.

      The issue we're seeing is since 11th July our conversion have gone to zero.
      We believe Tag Manager was used to setup conversion tracking as can see in the code in theme.liquid
      Scripted answers from Google haven't helped us identify or resolve the issue.
      According to shopify help Google Tags Manager was deprecated around the same date we saw the problem start. From your experience could this be the root of the issue? If that is the case, what replaced Google tags manager? What code should delete / replace it with?

      @@thegundoggirl2071 Shopify is kind of correct, but misleading. Google Tag Manager is not deprecated, what is deprecated is the additional scripts in Shopify. Which has changed to Pixels. So if you use the new method outlined in this video, it will all work again. Also read the tutorial on the website as there are some new additional steps to also setup Google Analytics (optional).       When testing if these tags were measuring website events correctly using tag assist, none are.
      Does this take time to work? or does this indicate an error

      @@thegundoggirl2071 Normally you can view the data the next day in Google Analytics if you are talking about Analytics, or Google Ads the next day, if you are talking about Google Ads. However today I updated the coding and GTM update files to V1.0812. Also ensure your consent mode is working correctly, if you are outside the EU, set the consent mode in my code to true.
