I am using reef roids (amzn.to/2TjB7Cf) to feed the anemones. I use Disposable Plastic Transfer Pipettes (amzn.to/32OC4FG) to target feed the anemones.
I have a small green BTA, about half the size of my palm. I feed it a little sliver of uncooked, frozen whitefish I bought from the supermarket. It eats way faster than I expected - down the mouth in less than 10 seconds. I only have a 10 gallon AIO so Reef Roids isn’t a great idea - even if you make it a paste it inevitably ends up in the water column and in my experience it causes nutrient spikes/algae outbreaks in smaller tanks that don’t have a seperate sump.
@@prolific_breed life is o.k , motivated when i see person like you my brotha posting.... it pushes me to continue using this sharing medium... Nuff respect bredda, keep on keeping on
@@jameparnell you need smart plugs or a smart power strip. I prefer kasa brand but you can research and pick your own brand that's compatible with alexa amzn.to/4eiYhQi
@@NormTre when ever I have time actually. Most of the time I just leave them alone. I also feed pieces of shrimp if i really wanted them to get bigger. It helps
I went through some alk swings causing me to lose some corals but the anemones stayed fine. ALK was near 11 last time I tested. Other parameters I have no idea
It’s pretty easy all you need is a smart plug or smart power strip. I left links in the description ambit any smart plug would do and they are cheap now

@@FKJ_WORLD just keep doing what you love. I had periods where I just got to busy and did not post anything but the tank is still running
I am new to the hobby and enjoyed your video! but how did you hook your Alexa to your fish tank?
@@jameparnell you need smart plugs or a smart power strip. I prefer kasa brand but you can research and pick your own brand that's compatible with alexa amzn.to/4eiYhQi
Dude I just saw this for the first time it’s crazy you have your system hooked up to an Alexa to turn it off and on easy
It’s very easy to do and very useful
Lol you act like it’s witch craft.
Wow the anemones curling up while feeding !😳😱
You’ll see their mouth opening too 😅
I think it may be a little too early in the recovery cycle to feed them.
So beautiful reef😍👍💗🙋🍃
Beata P hi!!! Hope all is well with you!
Do you have a follow up video
Hey Isidro, was doing weekly videos on the tank every Friday. I skipped the last 2 weeks though. Check out the play list
How you link up alexa lol
I actually feed them once a week with frozen shrimp in size of my fingernail
Did this work? Did the anemone's recover? I have one that seems sick and I'm going to give this a try.
the nems are all thriving check last video to see. make sure your salinity and parameters are on point
@@prolific_breed how often did you feed them like this? Once a week, or more often?
@@NormTre when ever I have time actually. Most of the time I just leave them alone. I also feed pieces of shrimp if i really wanted them to get bigger. It helps
@@prolific_breed thank you, but I meant when they were sick. How often did you feed them with reefroids to get them better.
How long did it take for them to start eating again?
Couple of weeks. They are very week so the fine powder works
Brave man, I've heard anemones can get bacterial infections that can spread to others
It’s possible
Merci pour ta vidéo !!! 👍👍👍
I have a question what do i have to do to my anemone to bubble up
No one is sure how or why. I would try your flow first to see if it changes anything
I am using 1 eheim flow maker im sure its enough cause my tank is a 50 to 50 cm tank
@@theslayerbtw6520 I mean turning down the flow
@@prolific_breed Well i will try
What are your water parameters like?
I went through some alk swings causing me to lose some corals but the anemones stayed fine. ALK was near 11 last time I tested. Other parameters I have no idea
I’m new to this reef keeping this and you can program Alexa to the fish tank?!?!
It’s pretty easy all you need is a smart plug or smart power strip. I left links in the description ambit any smart plug would do and they are cheap now
what lights do you hv?
Ai prime HD x 3
prolificbreed and what schedule do you run
Saurabh Sharma check out one of my older videos on lighting. In the description In have the settings I use. AB+ settings from 7am to 6pm 30 min ramp
prolificbreed are you able to get the link ?? I’m having a hard time finding it 😭
what salt do you use for your water
Reef crystals orange box it’s on sale right now it seems. amzn.to/3IQKh0j I just bought two boxes to stock up lol
What happened to your ig?
Hit you up on the new IG lol
Now that's cool. Having Alexa control all that.
I use voice command or the app almost everyday. Very convenient
TP Link WiFi plugs are a cheap way to do this.
Should make a single command to shut off all the pumps at once when needed.
If you say “alexa turn off pump 1 AND turn off pump 2 AND turn off return” it’ll do them all at once. “And” let’s you chain them together.
I haven’t set up my new tank with it yet, but it’s how I control a lot of devices and lights in my house
Gonna give it a try
Alexa mix the Roid and feed the tank
