0:45 My grandmother came from a tribe, that respected owls. She often told me, that they could see into the soul and react accordingly. If a owl landed on your shoulder, it was a great honor and you were pure. I most def. feel that at this moment, lol.
I rescued one of these last night, found him in the middle of the road, had some head trauma and I had to stay with him all night until the conservancy opened for the day. Conservancy said he should be alright after some time in the incubator and some meds. they’re so cool to see in person and to hold one was the coolest thing ever
They are just darling! I had the pleasure of being able to hold a screech owl while my uncle and I took it to a rehab center. It was sitting on a bird bath in broad daylight, just acting phased. It was stone still and sat there all day like that. I threw a towel over it and picked it up. It was calm all the way to the center, but as soon as I went to hand it to the worker it panicked. It broke my heart. I hope it was released.
Ok so that must be normal because one let me pet it last night when I found it roosting with my chickens like a weirdo. Probably hunting mice in there but it was so chill.
I just rescued a little orange/red one from the middle of the road a few days ago! Got it to a rescue and it’s going to be ok from what they can tell. They’re such cool little animals. He seemed so relieved after I got him in a bin in my car. Even sat perched on my arm at one point. Was smaller and probably younger than these ones though so might be why
Shoulda kept him, if he's perched on you so quickly, he trusted you & liked your vibes. I had that w/ a city street pigeon under a freeway overpass & he was close to death. Very young. Nurtured him back to full health & vitality. He wound up back in a green, nice area, raising his own family, after he was with me for a good 6 yrs... There's much more nuance & wild events to his story. A lovely creature & 1 of my Best FRIENDS ever. I'll always love that feisty 🕊️ ... Beautiful soul...
I absolutely love their "screeches"! I used to love hearing them on nights especially after a thunderstorm rolled through when living in Michigan as a young man.
I can't help but come back on this video time and time again to see how extraordinary it is to learn a species of different kinds of birds. And those two owls there need to go back to being lil' eggs coz they too cute to be hatched out here in the real world. And it's super adorable when that grey one turns its head away from the camera and then immediately turns back like "Say what?"
In Houston, one of those Screech Owls flew close to my head as I was going to my car to drive back home. When one of them perched on a tree, I though it was a baby owl, but turns out those owls are very small in adult size.
Those birds are badass, I just ordered a screech owl nesting house to hang in backyard, I’m in a suburban area of Michigan but hopefully I can bring a couple in
Several folks in the comments talking about rescuing dazed little screech owls, and how calm and sweet they were on the way to the Dr. We rescued a very angry little fellow that snapped at us, and dug his talons in my husband’s belly roll! Thought we’d never get him loose!! Oh but what a little precious guy - the rehabber told us after a few days he was released 💕🤩
We just took a baby that we think was injured in the big storm to a wild bird rescue here. He had one eye that looked dilated so we thought he might have some head trauma. We are waiting to hear how he fares.
They kinda sound like high pitched monkeys going crazy. People not from the country or smaller suburbs are terrified when they hear these things, which I can’t blame them. If you didn’t know it were these tiny little birds, it’d scare the Hell out of anyone, hearing this coming from the woods at night.
They’re looking at you like you’re nuts🤣🦉🦉
tbf,.. if your standing and staring at an owl.. youre maybe a bit nbuts :)?
OWL: "This human sure makes a LOT of noise."
Lol
😂😂😂
They're so beautiful they appear robotic and unreal.
Bubo
#birdsaren'treal 😁
It's the fixed gaze and smooth neck turning. Such fascinating birds.

They are absolutely adorable.
Jewels
I love how they're neck movements are so robotic like. Also they're looking at you like "lower your voice bro."
0:34 LMAO!
I love how owls only have two possible facial expressions. It's either 😒 or 😳.
OWL: "This human sure makes a LOT of noise."
Oh Lol 😂
😆
Nightly birds od prey can have many espressions
😂😂😂
they look like a confused flying cat
LOVE THEM!🥰
Me too
I love screech owls so much. Juniper and Stump are so lovely. Can't stop smiling watching them. Thanks for introducing them to us!
My husband & I have a family of 5 of these eyes in our oak tree in our back yard in suburb in Ft Worth Texas. They are amazing!

Owls look like cute fuzzballs in a constant traumatic flashback.
This is the most accurate description of an owl I have ever read and seen. 👏 👏 👏
I just love owls - everything about them ❤
What little cuties
I love how at 0:34, the grey one looks back at you after you say its species' name, as though to say "WTF?! I'm a what?!"
also at 1:39; very alarming but very cute
Yer an owl, Harry
I love your close ups of these owls, front and back. They are beautiful. Thank you.
OWL: "This human sure makes a LOT of noise."
He sure talks a lot 😂
They look like stuffed animals due to their size and their large eyes with round pupils. That’s what makes them so appealing and cute.
So cute!!
Thank you for helping these lovely birds ♡

I have had as many as five of these guys lined up like little gargoyles on the roof of my back deck.
They have zero fear of me or my Border Terrier.
Ok so that must be normal because one let me pet it last night when I found it roosting with my chickens like a weirdo. Probably hunting mice in there but it was so chill.
They are awesome listeners lol they make such cute inquisitive faces

They're quite professional when it comes to camouflaging themselves in with the barks of trees
Lovely fuzzy balls. I love owls for their funny appearance, but screech owls break the whole.
One reddish seems a smiling creature
Great presentation. So cute, great buddies.
Maximum of grace and maximum of cuteness. Thanks a lot for sharing this and greetings from Germany. :-)
It is good to hear you talk about screech owls. The noise they make sounds so familiar with the night sounds I've heard.
Both very cute and sweet
Man imagine how great their vision is.
They can spot prey (mice, lizards, etc.) from half a mile away, I believe.
Well, except for the grey one. Poor baby
ALL MIGHT!!!!!!
Owls actually rely more on their hearing than sight. They actually can't see very well
I absolutely love their "screeches"! I used to love hearing them on nights especially after a thunderstorm rolled through when living in Michigan as a young man.
Owls are cool and awesome animals.
Aww, they look so cute 🥰😍🥺🦉
OWL: "This human sure makes a LOT of noise." 8-|

One of these woke me up at night and I finally figured out where the noise was coming from.
This helped a lot with my schoolwork,
Saved me a lot of reading, thank you so much
I live in the Country and love to hear the call of the Screech Owls...it's a Haunting kind of call.
There so cute.
They are extremely adorable! ❤

How precious !
So beautiful 😮
Obsessed with Stump. Please give updates.
Everyone go to 0:33 the owl turns his head so fast when he says its a screech owl like "who? me"?
😍 They are beautiful!
I like how the orange one looks pissed all the time -- not just in this vid, but they all seem to be inherently pissed.
Screech owls have one of two expressions: absolute murder, or perpetually startled.
I think its because of the angle of the feathers on the face, angled downward and inward, similar to a furrowed brow on a human face.
I love Stump's eyes!! SoOOooOOoo Big!!
Love your owels.
Great video, thanks!
Now I know where the term.. "head on a swivel" comes from 🦉😉
So pretty
Gorgeous and sweet owlets
Those birds are badass, I just ordered a screech owl nesting house to hang in backyard, I’m in a suburban area of Michigan but hopefully I can bring a couple in
Long time past now, but, had a hilarious encounter twist one of these owls, my dog, Rags, & myself. Neat birds!
Fantastic owls
I really want to kiss the top of their heads...so precious...😍🥰🦉
wow they almost dont even look real; the way their heads moved; the glazed eyes meant for the night.
Darlin', you don't have to raise your voice up an octave. We still hear your interest! Gorgeous birds!
They look like they’re pretty pissed off about all the noise.
Good video. Cool owls.
Very cute owls 🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉
Poor owl it’s very irritating to have a blindness like a pirate
Sure
stump looks like a bond villain with that eye...

they're so round
Octopus of the sky
Pretty sure those are furbies
Holy ravioli so cute 🥰
It would help if you could play a recording of what they sound like.
The Owl House
holy shit it moved. is that animatronic or what? i would have sworn that thing was an example of taxidermy when i first looked at the video.
❤❤❤
