    just finished my 12v on the MUX, built the side wing, accessories, fuse box etc....nothing better than DIY and I'm in IT mate, no electrical knowledge but that's what TH-cam and these types of videos are for.....Love it!!

      How good is that mate, well done, and now every time you look at it you get satisfaction too! Its a win-win. Thanks for watching mate, and for the comment!

    Currently looking at doing a simple set up and this has helped heaps! I’m not electrical minded and you’ve made it seem less daunting trying to tackle some of it on my own! Thanks for sharing!!

    I have the Kickass 12v Panel as well its a great piece of kit I just wish they put swing arm on the panel because trying to do any cabling on your own is a bloody nightmare! Aside from that I love the panel

    Love these videos, thanks so much for going into detail mate and recording with such good angles and quality. Really helps people like myself that have a Bitta knowledge around it but just not sure on some finer things 👍👍 thanks mate

    Did you consider putting grommets where the wires go through the bulkhead to protect the cables?
    Was one of the first things I was taught when setting up in vehicle systems.

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes absolutely should have used grommets, normally do. In fairness this was the first time I had used the caravan entry system a d the cables are not moving in the bulkhead at all. With the amount of silicone used I think I’m safe!

    Awesome vid. How are the lights wired up to the rocker switch on the control box?

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks mate! Just brought the positive and negative from the lights into the control box and attached the negative to the negative bus bar and the positive via a spade connector to the switch I wanted to use for them. From memory it was the bottom right connector on the switch. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Hey mate, love the build. I am about to install a very similar setup. I was wondering what lugs you used throughout? Cheers mate

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, thanks for the comments, really appreciate it!
      The lugs were 8mm holes and thick enough to suit the 6 gauge cable that was used throughout the build. Any 12v shop should guide you in the right direction for these. My tip would be to buy the heaviest duty crimper you can find. I’ve got a big kinchrome one that does the trick.
      Thanks again & good luck with the build. Send a pic on insta when you finish it
      Cheers 🍻

    How do you connect the solar panels on top to everything inside, did you just drill a hole in the roof and if so does water leak?

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      G'day mate, thanks for watching.
      I've run the cables from the solar panel under the tent and down the front of the canopy behind the headboard. Than went to jaycar and bought this - www.jaycar.com.au/white-abs-solar-cable-entry-point/p/HS8866?pos=4&queryId=833dae43412f4111ea6939fabf06bcee. Drilled two holes the the front of the canopy sealed with Sika and stuck the housing on with the sike too. Hope this helps!
      Thanks

    Hey mate how do you go running both fridges off your set up

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey mate, so far no dramas at all. Ran them both off a 100ah lithium for about 4 months, 24/7. Had the opportunity about a month ago to put a second 100ah in, now I don’t drop below 80% hardly ever. It’s going really well.
      I think the 50amp Redarc helps heaps though, both solar and alternator pumping into it.
      Thanks for watching!

    Spent big on the dcdc charger only to go and put a Kings upright fridge😂. I would rather put a Kings 40a dvdc charger with mppt controller built in and the put a Bushmans 85L fridge in.... Talk about crazy!😂

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the comment mate.
      I look at it a bit differently. Got a great foundation now that will last well into the future. Eventually upgrading to 200ah lithium with inverter, induction etc.
      The kings fridge may be a weak link, time will tell. Easy to replace down the track though without having to rip the system apart. The redarc has been proven throughout Oz as dependable and with its solar priority charging in my opinion is a game changer.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @MudModsBeers
      @MudModsBeers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mate,
      That's a great question! I'm not sure I have totalled everything up. If you have a look in the description of the video you will see most things that I've installed. However, some stuff we fabricated ourselves and others we got second hand of marketplace to keep costs down. Not a great answer sorry mate!
