Big plate of white powdery beef Shakes! The dolphins are in the Jacuzzi. 🤣💣💥. I like polytones because of thier beefieness but i hopenone of those old parts go cuz finding them will be a task. I am watching this tose about the ground switch. Should it be changed? Or can it be fitted to change phase? Mine is the brute model without reverb or drive.

Are mega brute amps difficult to work on?

Can be depending on the year. Some of the stuff is packed in tight.

try running the standel and polytone together, you won't believe the sound they both produce together.. and if you ever get your hands on a early 60s hybrid Standel..you'll get frustrated working on them but the tone they produce will make you forget about it lol

Cool idea.... The Polytone has since gone home to its owner, and the Standel has been SOLD! Darn. I can't keep everything that I deem to be "cool" or I'd end up on "Hoarders"

I guess they didn't get the memo that we're leaving kitschy amp wraps behind going into the 80s. Perhaps there's some secret class going on in that sand paper wrap. Does 220 grit sound any better than 500? What about Micromesh?!!

If I had to guess, this is like a Duratex speaker paint /w/ sand added to it. It's weird, but heck I got it fixed.

@@DeadKoby Ahhh! That sounds familiar. A lot of DIY folk who don't want to bother wrapping and cutting and gluing will spray their cabs with truck bed liner. Not the most attractive material, but it works I suppose.

Polytone amps' literature is about Small-Loud-and Tough...... so I guess a sandpaper finish goes with the tough theme. The company was founded by Accordionist Tommy Gumina, and Guitarist Joe Pass. In 2011, they began to fail on delivering orders, and in 2012, Gumina passed on... I'm guessing that's why the orders weren't filled.
