Thank you so much for making this awesome video! I really appreciate the extra care that went into it. Always nice to watch a video analysis that had careful thought put into it, especially in a time where so many content creators piggyback off of someone else's hard work without having anything new to offer to it. I hate modern analog horror and it's rampant lack of originality but honestly Greylock is the best thing to ever come out of the entire medium, Not only did it actually scare me which was a feat no other Analog Horror has done and it also shows me that people still have the ability to be creative with the genre
The idea of analog horror is honestly really good, but it's so easy to put out something super unoriginal for easy views so a lot of people don't put in much effort.
@@AhidepociereMartynov Agreed generally for sure, there's a lot of stuff out there that looks exactly like e.g. Local58, but I don't think originality is the deciding factor as to whether a series is good, or at least it doesn't have to be. Petscop was honestly super cliche when it first came out, aping all of the generic elements you'd find in creepypasta of the time - haunted game with dark underbelly, dead kids, soul trapped in game, multiple and unreliable narrators etc. - but through the sheer amount of effort invested and distinctive stylistic elements added, it really took those cliche elements and used them as a foundation for something truly unique and amazing. But yeah, I agree though. One cliche that really puts me off that has become super overused is the "I HAVE BECOMETH AS GOD; THE LAMB REEKS OF G0RG0NZ0L4" sort of shit. Oh wow, suddenly there's all caps text of someone or something claiming to have transcended or that is using vaguely religious language, how utterly terrifying! *yawn*

I'm willing to bet that Mother is manifestation of older people in her life that don't understand being a content creator and their repetition of things like "get a real job" or "this won't last" is gnawing away at Dotty's psyche, despite the fact that she is able to provide for her family this way.
I kind of think of "Not Your Normal Kids Show" as an allegory for family channels, with Dottie being the child involved. She's forced to put on a smile and act like everything's okay, even though she doesn't want to be in front of the camera and has her own hopes and dreams. The audience (the Tall Man) is always looming over her shoulder, dictating what she can and cannot do at all times, constantly reminding her that she will never be free from prying eyes, even in the comfort of her own bedroom. She can't be herself on camera since the audience wouldn't like it, so she puts on a persona. All the while, her hard work is what's earning the family (literally Mother) money and what puts food on the table (hence the dinner plate).
i think the tall man being the audience makes a whole lot of sense, both with your interpretation and goose's. the "don't let the tall man in" thing works both ways. there are dangerous, awful people in the audience of family channels, and there are stalkers and absolute freaks in the audience of adult women creators.
I think Dotty is at least partially an homage to Poppy. Remember her? I'd call her videos a very similar style. And then, in real life, in turned out her weird, creepy channel was controlled by an (allegedly) abusive guy behind the scenes.
Greylock is a pretty alright series. Sure the first couple of videos kinda fall flat on its face and don't really look all that good, but it gets so much better later on.

I think mother in "Not your normal kids show" might represent the people who consume the content, given that there was a frame where it said "Power in consumption" in reverse. The only time we ever see Mother is when Dotty is feeding her, which could represent how content creators essentially feed into their audience.
Goose, Goose. God bless you. Mother of 2 here. Sometimes I overdo the spookiness to offset the constant kid friendly nature of parenthood. Love your voice helping me navigate what's out there. Glad to hear you again.

I can’t hear the word “tulpa” without thinking about that 4chan /x/ story where a guy manifested Beavis and Butthead tulpas because he was bored and thought it’d be funny, but got so annoyed with them he was looking for advice on how to get rid of them
It didn't hit me till today, but the baby totally is a thoughtform! And I think it was the dad who made it too. The mom seems cagey while she talks about it, she says that he's really excited about it tho, he's comfirmed to have used the thoughtform manifestor, and he's the one busy with work when the baby dissapears. What I think happened is he accidentally made the baby "the old fashioned way" (heh heh 😂) by putting hours of focused thought into the idea prior to being tested. During the test, he then summoned the baby thoughtform when he was put inside the manifestor, and it locked the baby inside the special thoughtform prison. If it was made to be a baby though, and they have no limits to their form, we might have a grown up thoughtform who thinks they're human sometime soon in the series!
My current theory on Greylock is that Synodine is essentially trying to create a similar being as to what could reside within Greylock. A extremely powerful Thoughtform created by multiple people’s shared experiences and emotions, essentially a god. The way Synodine is going to do this is by using Stargate Thoughtforms, which are the white masked beings imo. The people breaking into other’s homes are government agents and/or Synodine employees observing Stargate Thoughtforms tested on the public similar to MK Ultra. Though it isn’t entirely meant to be testing but also to instill hysteria to the public, so that hysteria might manifest a extremely powerful Thoughtform both Synodine and Stargate wish to weaponized against the Russians. As I could be wrong but Stargate was actually an irl US government project made when hearing Russia employing “psychics” to locate and observe areas and objects with their mind. Thus I think Greylock’s universe is using weaponized thoughtforms against the Russians.
I do like the detail that the series uses real/pre-existing concepts, like how Project Stargate (or "The Stargate Project") was a real secret US Army unit which was founded in the 70s to research the potential of psychic phenomena for military use, and how tulpas are a pre-existing concept from Theosophy and other mystic/spiritual beliefs, and are pretty much the same as how they're depicted in the series.
In terms of story, Greylock seems very similar towards that of the Mandela Catalogue. However, instead of dealing with otherworldly doppelgangers, you'll be going up against hostile tulpas.
Greylock genuinely creeped me out, looking forward to what comes next. And thanks for introducing Dotty, I'll have to watch that, the concept is really fun :)
Love Greylock, thank you for introducting me! So, I think one thing you may have missed is where the blurb with the moon creation theory differs from real life. The video states it was a "mars like planet" that left parts of its self in the earth even after it broke off what would become the moon. For me, this was the real key to my own theories and grabbed me in a way that links everything together. I think the "thing" worshipped under Mt. Greylock may have been left behind by this ancient impact. Possibly shaping humanity long before recorded history.
I didn't expect to like these as much as I did. Greylock is like lesson learned right from all the popular analog horror series before. The kids show is a lot lik DNMIS but rotated vertically and with a real person instead of puppets
Its always weird seeing stuff about tulpas in arg videos when i was a member of the tulpa community growing up from like 13 years old to like 17, met tulpa mancers (i.e. people who have created/hosted tulpas) in real life in places i never expected to meet them, and i still have a tulpa to this day, though they arent as active now a days but they still are very much present in an undeniable, tangible way
If anything, H.P. Lovecraft is very fucking underrated considering the level of influence he's had on the entire horror genre and many-many other big-league authors' work, but yeah sure, buddy. Unfortunately he didn't have the skills of a creepypasta-tier writer and the technology to create spooky-scawy vhs effects at the time.
theory: in the mountain, is an unknowable *something* that causes the thoughts of nearby people to influence the physical reality. The biggest giveaway is that the news reporter's injuries were identical to the mock-up ones that were shown in the LIAR frame. People saw the mock-up, imagined the reporter with those injuries, and that became reality. The paranoid guy quite literally manifested his own threat into reality. Every. Single. Panic-inducing incident like serial kidnappings is now self-propagating because of people's fears fueling the manifestations of fruther incidents. People fearing for their lives end up in a feedback loop of manifesting their own doom and the Stargate project is meant to grant people more lucidity/control over their own minds to try and reduce this mind-over-matter effect. The mother feared for just a moment about losing her baby. A transient fear. She didn't even tell anyone. She didn't have to. And it happened.
I assumed the children screaming + manhand was a thoughtform created from fear of the home invader. Perhaps not intentionally, but if you think about something hard enough, I dunno, I bet someone could. I haven’t watched the whole video, I’m in the middle of that rn. Maybe it’s confirmed later on.
I'm gonna give it my best shot to decipher the news article "ADAMs - Days after the *undecipherable till 5th row midway* is offering the head of repercussion De-g--in the parents engaged the Emergency ----------- System" then on the otherside I could make out a couple words over there "According to staff workers witnessed disagreement between Fi---- as Al----"
At the 10:49 (The small newspaper clipping) mark, some of the words are readable, and are just hard to read normally (Words I made out in order: They're after the [Three words] processes that left to an [rest of it])
Thanks for this Goose Boose! I love a decent analogue horror rabbit hole and Gavagan has a jolly good imagination for this kind of stuff! I don't like gory, I like scary, and Greylock has just the right ingredients. I'm glad you turned me on to it. I'm disabled, so I watch a LOT of YT, and the more people recommend, the more choice I have. Thanks again GB my friend! Be well, be happy, be safe!

“Symiodyne” seems to me like a direct correlation for the CIA, with the presidential killings, mind-control projects and partnership with the Army Corps and whatnot
i'm pretty inured to internet horror, but greylock actually spooked me and made me feel uneasy several times because it's so unapologetically gruesome. one thing i especially appreciate about it is how it isn't up its own ass with ~deepest lore~ to the point that it turns into a game of i spy for youtubers to churn out analysis videos over.
Glad to have you back, Gooseboose. Your down to earth and chill reviews of horror content on here is a breath of fresh air from the plethora of Chills-esc voices speaking at 0.25 speed at all times. Keep up the good work but take care of yourself too!
"Mini Mysteries" Nearly an hour long. Lol That's some dedication if this is considered a Mini. Love the work, and i know you've had it pretty rough lately. Hope you are doing alright. Also you do really great content
I just wanted to say that this video made my entire morning. I don't look forward to many things during my daily routine but seeing Mini Mysteries in my subscriptions tab always manages to put a smile on my face. Thank you!
Shoutout to the OG fans who knew his original channel name as Rob Dyke before he had to change it to due to TH-cams dumb guidelines even though thats literally his last name.
@25:34 *HEY!* Guillermo del Toro's, At the Mountains of Madness still needs to be made. 😌also The Colour Put of Space with Nicholas Cage was a great film of a trilogy. 😐Trilogy that won't be completed because of ...stuff with director. BUT del Toro can still have his day. Besides, The Nameless City, The Shunned House are ones I really want to be made.
OK either a lot more came out after the last video on Greylock I watched or that video cut out a TON because I do NOT remember the conjoined babies or the scene with Don having his face torn off- tbh watching this video has made me appreciate the series a lot more. I wouldn’t say its one of my favorites (the fact some of the images look like they could be AI generated makes me raise an eyebrow as well as just finding some things in it like the JFK assassination being relevant to the plot cheesy) but I can definitely recognize the talent on display here.
8:10-9:02 Idk man tape 004 in this video ligimately scares me the most because of the reality of such situations. One of my many fears is a home invasion.
Sorta wish people would cover the Minerva alliance, it's a bit short lived but was interesting, sorta had a scp vibe to it and sorta sad it got cut short while we got teased with new content. Original creator apparently moved to tapes from the dark side which is also pretty good
Continuing with the content creation analogy, I think that the mother, who is notably unseen, probably represents the audience of a content creator. The skinned face is Dottie giving a literal "piece of herself" to her audience to metaphorically "eat up" when she feeds mother. Not only is she giving the mother (audience) a "piece of herself" but in the shape of a metaphorical mask. Mother wearing the face could even indicate merch in a way, too. Dottie doing things for mother and trying to please her is like a content creator feeling a sort of responsibility or duty to make content for their audience, even if that means hurting themselves, usually mentally, into producing something good to give their audience. I also have no idea if that analogy Goose made is what Not your normal kid's show is about, but I figured the mother character does fit in with that idea, too, and that interpretation does make sense lol.
Fuck, I remember watching Rob Gavagan's content back before he changed his surname. Why Would You Put That On the Internet, Zombie Horse, Crappypasta Reading, etc... It makes me kind of weirdly happy, in a way, to see both Rob and his Zombie Horse collaborator Justin Bonitz going on to do some extremely cool and original things in completely different genres - Rob with his collaboration with Matt Reeves to make Greylock (which has a story I love so far, but had no idea Rob was involved until watching this video), and Justin becoming a insanely talented metal vocalist who's finally getting the creative recognition his music deserves. I don't think I could have thought of a happier or more fitting outcome for either of them, and there was a time when I was genuinely worried we wouldn't see anything creative from either of them again. I'm so happy for them, not in a parasocial way, but in a genuine way anyone should feel when they see an artist succeed.
I bought the entire hp lovecraft book collection a while back and was expecting them to all be great but damn, that guy either wrote the least scary most predictable horror or shit that can barely be understood because of his choice of words
It's nothing ground breaking, but I saw the mother as a dissapointed parent figure, who Dotty tries to make happy by offering gifts. Though, at the end of the day, mother doesn't even talk back to Dotty when she tries to tell her something.
Watching your videos has been so much fun recently. I know this is such a long shot but, listening to the dark souls music you put in your videos really makes me want to play them again. We should play them together! (I know this will never happen) but a man can dream!!
how do these monster's kill you because it's 100% painful because of the screams until you just die (mostly talking about the cop mimic) it sounds like he was screaming until boom his body gets torn in half
5:57 I hate ads. I'm listening and he says "then it stops abruptly" so I look up and what do I see? A giant plate of fries being eaten followed by a Toyota Tacoma pick up truck commerical lol.
"There's going to be a jump scare at 10:15. Adjust your volume accordingly." What jump scare? I use that same arm intensity when I hit the light switch or flush the toilet lol.

I didn't expect to like these as much as I did. Greylock is like lesson learned right from all the popular analog horror series before. The kids show is a lot lik DNMIS but rotated vertically and with a real person instead of puppets
Wow goose was beaming with excitement to make some content :^)
Its always weird seeing stuff about tulpas in arg videos when i was a member of the tulpa community growing up from like 13 years old to like 17, met tulpa mancers (i.e. people who have created/hosted tulpas) in real life in places i never expected to meet them, and i still have a tulpa to this day, though they arent as active now a days but they still are very much present in an undeniable, tangible way
literally i wanted to cry when i first saw the notification of the video and saw there wasn’t any video 😭😭
If anything, H.P. Lovecraft is very fucking underrated considering the level of influence he's had on the entire horror genre and many-many other big-league authors' work, but yeah sure, buddy. Unfortunately he didn't have the skills of a creepypasta-tier writer and the technology to create spooky-scawy vhs effects at the time.
simultaneously really cool and absolutely terrifying to have a series like this set in the area you live in lol
theory: in the mountain, is an unknowable *something* that causes the thoughts of nearby people to influence the physical reality.
Glad you're back on the mood to make content! when you enjoy doing what you do, that's when we truly experience what we subscribed for :)
At the 10:49 (The small newspaper clipping) mark, some of the words are readable, and are just hard to read normally
(Words I made out in order: They're after the [Three words] processes that left to an [rest of it])
Thanks for this Goose Boose!
Im so happy you covered not your normal kids show!! Its honestly my favorite new series. Weirdcore is awesome
its 4:50 am rn and as soon as you started talking about people who stayed up late binging content instead of actually going to sleep it hit me. i should probably sleep now tbh. thanks for that
I've been watching you for a couple of years now and you have become one of my favorite youtubers. You are super underrated and I enjoy watching your videos so much. these types of videos are my favorite. I cant wait too see what else you do.
24:16 correction it wasn’t the moon that collided with earth, it was a planet named Theia.
greylock is an absolute masterclass on analog horror. everything is just perfect.
Idk why but Dottie makes me think that she could be like a kind of disturbed creepy relative of Stephanie from Lazy Town
Did anyone notice that Paul's picture changes? Greylock is a great series and I can't wait for more.
Glad to have you back, Gooseboose. Your down to earth and chill reviews of horror content on here is a breath of fresh air from the plethora of Chills-esc voices speaking at 0.25 speed at all times. Keep up the good work but take care of yourself too!
A new Goose Boose video is alawys a good. As long as you happy and enjoy your work makes it better.
they did a great job on the typeface and colour grading
"Mini Mysteries"
Nearly an hour long. Lol
That's some dedication if this is considered a Mini.
Love the work, and i know you've had it pretty rough lately. Hope you are doing alright. Also you do really great content
Thanks a ton! I appreciate the kind words
Not gonna lie, that "Youre gonna be okay" hits different. Thanks
🎶IT’S MINI MYSTERY TIME🎵 COME ON EVERYONE! SING IT WITH ME 🎶🎵
@25:34 *HEY!* Guillermo del Toro's, At the Mountains of Madness still needs to be made.
12:17 this was scarier than the actual jumpscare
8:10-9:02
Idk man tape 004 in this video ligimately scares me the most because of the reality of such situations. One of my many fears is a home invasion.
Falling nack asleep should be a walk in the park
@19:12 *THIS* is how it always starts with Tzeentch.
Good to see Goose back showing us little known analog horrors. Keep on truckin'
Sorta wish people would cover the Minerva alliance, it's a bit short lived but was interesting, sorta had a scp vibe to it and sorta sad it got cut short while we got teased with new content. Original creator apparently moved to tapes from the dark side which is also pretty good
babe wake up new video from internet user gooseboose just dropped
"The baby might have only been a ghost Or a stand" That one got me
i have other ideas about why the tall man...kidnapped her. He has good tastes
"explain yourself."
Man i'm glad you are feeling better, i look forward to these deep dives.
I don’t even really like analog horror that much, I just like listening to the sound of Goose’s voice.
"hungry home invaders coming after your third graders" had me DEAD
I bought the entire hp lovecraft book collection a while back and was expecting them to all be great but damn, that guy either wrote the least scary most predictable horror or shit that can barely be understood because of his choice of words
Absolutely awesome video as always with some really cool projects. I hope you keep feeling better and energized for new content. Welcome back Goose.
May I just say, thank you for the jumpscare warnings. You're so polite, thank you so much.
Omg the way you said that line reminds me of that one song I love!!! (About them waking something in the mountains)
I’m so stupid lmao it reminded me of fire coming out from Gorillaz
Darn good series!
And sayin' that Lovecraft is overrated is 'em fightin' words.
But still love ya~🖤
The skeleton: *rises from ground*
My brain for some reason: “sans?”
Is that Resident Evil 1's "meeting rebecca" playing in the background during the intro?
Ye! Sigh of Relief I think it's called.
25:50 Finally somebody else said it. Decent ideas, but gawdawful application.
15:34 load-bearing “it had a face”
Nothing says "Mini Mysteries" more than over 30 minutes devoted to a single subject.
whats the music you use at 0:13 - 1:13?? I always hear you use it but never found where its from?
Sigh of Relief - Resident Evil 1 Remake
@@Goose_BooseYT thanks so much! I have never played RE outside of the 4th remake for a bit when my friend was over. Also tell Pchii I said hi!!!
how do these monster's kill you because it's 100% painful because of the screams until you just die (mostly talking about the cop mimic) it sounds like he was screaming until boom his body gets torn in half
I like the no more heroes style transitions Goose.
6:35 imagine youre sleeping and you just hear "STAR PLATINUM" from your closet
5:57 I hate ads. I'm listening and he says "then it stops abruptly" so I look up and what do I see? A giant plate of fries being eaten followed by a Toyota Tacoma pick up truck commerical lol.
YAYYY good to see ya back n still kicking Goose! Another awesome mini mysteries too :0
6:03 what a bad time for a doordash ad
You always come when I need you- especially during a long ass walmart shift
I worked at Walmart once, those Team Leads "have such wonderful power that they don't abuse" and the Me@Walmart "Is very a very good app"
"There's going to be a jump scare at 10:15. Adjust your volume accordingly."
What jump scare? I use that same arm intensity when I hit the light switch or flush the toilet lol.
"MINI" Mysteries lasting almost an hour?? I'm scared to see non-mini mysteries holy
ooh, i think the screaming on tape 4 was very very good.
finally home from college... what a good video to watch..
