Great video Greg. Shyness is something I've always struggled with. I've always found it hard to start & maintain conversations with new people, and if I saw someone looking at me I'd wonder why & a bit paranoid about it. I've actually tried the techniques you described & found they do make a difference. The problem is I fall back into old ways. I've also found if I don't exercise or eat well & put weight on it really effects my confidence.
It takes quite a bit of time to ingrain a new habit while expelling an old one. Over time you’ll do less and less of what you don’t want to do and more and more of what you do want to do if you can ease your way through the rough patches and stay conscious of your intents and desires. Thanks for sharing this with me. I have found that this subject seems to have resonated with quite a few people.
I suffer with shyness because of a speech impediment like you mentioned (stutter). My therapist (mental health therapist) was saying that she barely notices a stutter so I think I’ve mostly gotten past it as I’ve gotten older. She’s suggested I find a speech therapist to help me become more confident while speaking. I’m learning to accept that I don’t have to be the life of the party or the loudest in the crowd, BUT I hate how frozen I feel in social situations. It makes me feel like I’m retarded or broken and is such an awful feeling. I work a very social job so I’m ready to shed this old skin, so to speak. I’m tired of feeling broken. Thank you for this video!
My shyness developed in my 40's before that i did well in social situations. It had gotten worse over the years. Now i find it difficult to even speak up at the job i have worked at for 23 years.
I usually watch your videos about how to shave my head and trim my beard. This video could change lifes though. Just shared it with a friend that suffers from social anxiety.
I really appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you found value in it. And thanks for sharing! I really enjoy making the non-beard videos and I hope viewers will eventually find them and enjoy them.
In some ways, I’m still really shy. Or rather, inhibited. But the shyness you’re speaking of took years to overcome. It was step by step. I was still a young man when I became confidently operative.
Hi sir hope Ur okay, actually I have problem in talking in class, even though my marks are great,I can't speak in front of class, and it bother me too much, please would you help me to overcome it , I will be happy if you do ,

Well I'm being shy the rest of my life. I can't do any of those things. I'm learning to just embrace it.

Preach brother. I’m very shy and reserved until I get to know you THEN I don’t shut up. Being a saxophonist has helped me so much.
How long did it take you to overcome your shyness?😢

Hey greg how old are you man.
Ozgur Uz I'll be 48 on June 30th.
Greg Boswell you look like about a 10 years younger with the bald head and beard. Have added you on fb man.
Ozgur Uz I haven't seen a friend request from you yet. Are you sure you have the right Greg Boswell? I'll try to find you on there.
No homosexual tendancies intended I did think your beard looks proper!
