The DJI Air 2S is the perfect consumer drone and the best value for the money of any drone flying today. It includes an amazing imaging package with a 1” sensor delivering crisp 5.4K footage. It can fly 12km and stay in the air for 31 minutes on a single batter. It had 4-way obstacle avoidance, A.P.A.S. 4.0 and ADS-B alerts to keep you safe. What more could you want in a drone? Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions!

Had my Air 2s since it was first released and still performing like the first day and still sooo easy to use and fly. The video feed is excellent 👌 it's a perfect all around drone and a great buy with the fly more package..

My first drone was the Mini 2. Absolutely love that drone so I wanted to upgrade. It came down to the Mini 3 pro or the Air 2S. I chose the Air 2S for these reasons. I live near Chicago so we have high winds most of the time and my Mini 2 does struggle sometimes. The Air 2S is much better with wind. Also I know the Mini 3 pro has no fan cooling and I was worried about overheating. The Air 2S has a good fan and hasn’t overheated on me. The better camera and avoidance system has been great also. I don’t regret my decision.

I also believe that the Air 2S is the perfect drone, with great features packed into a comfortable size. It is just a pity that DJI is "neglecting" the Air 2S. All the latest features and nice to haves are reserved for the Mini 3 and Mavic 3 series. DJI should give Air 2S owners the same features and nice to haves. I feel that a firmware update for the Air 2S is long overdue. Please DJI, don't forget about your drone of the year for 2021.

    • @BlairAir

They already have. Mavic Air 2 owners had the same lament all last year. DJI's response? EOL for the aircraft. There is obviously no development being done on A2S. They aren't even doing bug fix releases. I know this from multiple bug reports on Course Lock Hyperlapse- will not hold visual subject if you move the drone after selecting. Bug has been there since last FW release of note; v02.04.23.20 - released last October.

Great video Rick. I've had my Air 2s since it came out. Can't find anything I like better. I just added the DJI RC Remote now it's the perfect drone, at least in my opinion. We went out in the country yesterday and with spoters and the max distance we got was 3 miles.

Great video summarizing just what I've found out since I bought this drone. It was an upgrade from the DJI Mini 2, which I still use for travel in other countries. I learn to fly with Mavic Mini. After considering all the options I felt that the Air 2 S was perfect for my needs and would handle wind better than the smaller mini’s. Better camera and better performance. I agree with your assessment and am very happy I got the Air 2 S. Thanks for a great summary!!! 😀👍

2 years ago i started to fly a mini 2,a few months back i bought the air 2s and i’m very happy with that drone. It’s a tank in the air (no wind warnings or connection issues) and the footage it provides me is very good quality.Dynamic range is impressive and the pictures very detailed…just awesome even in low light situations. The only 3 things i miss on the drone is obstacle bypass mode in cinemode, zoom option in photo mode and gimbal lock when you turn off the drone to put the gimbal protector on or change filters.Nevertheless a really awesome drone that is very easy and fun to fly. My mini 2 is now my backup drone for places were i’m not allowed to fly the air 2s,i will update that drone to the mini 3 pro in the near future. Works very good for me,the combination mini drone and the air 2s 🤔👍🏻

Don’t forget that Dronehacks allows a mod that lets one fly as high as one needs to. I use this legally when flying up hills/small mountains in which the drone is more than 400’ above me, but within the 400’ AGL limit. It also has a smoother FPV mode than the earlier Air-2 had. The ADSB mode in airplanes is not as ubiquitous as you imply, but fortunately, it’s getting cheaper and more common for the general aviation guys. I think it would be cool to have an ADSB (out) from the drone, but that’s another issue. I have had issues where the NFZ is slightly off position from where it should be. (I’m also a licensed commercial pilot) I have mixed feelings about DJI’s method of implementation on that. But, over all, yes, the AS2-as we call it, is the sweet spot in drones…STILL. Thanks again Rick!

Bang for your buck I guess the Air 2S is juuuuuust about the best camera quality with good wind holding. But if wind isn't an issue I would say that the Mini 3 camera is really close now - both photos and videos are pretty much on par with the 2S and more portable, as well as having coming with the excellent DJI RC for the same money. Obviously if high winds or insane quality media is your thing then the Mavic 3 range is unbeatable but they are expensive (still portable enough though I find). I probably wouldn't choose a 2S now- the Air 3 will be out later this year anyway. The only circumstances that I would buy it is if I flew up on windy hills and couldn't afford a Mavic 3, otherwise I'd get the Mini 3.

I just wish DJI would discount its older models. This would be great at the $500 pricepoint, given there are mavic 3's out on the market. Probably even down $350 to introduce new fans to the hobby.
Another selling point is the controller. I'm not a fan of the controller sold separately. The DJI controller with screen, etc beats the controller where you have to open you app, hook up your phone, pair it with drone and then calibrate the craft. There is a lot to be said of just picking up the drone and getting into the air.

I know they are expensive but divide the cost of the batteries by the number of days you've enjoyed flying and the joy it brings you. Probably the best $ you've spent in a while. The only issue with the mini 3 is if you live in a hot state like I do it overheats very quick. I live in Charleston South Carolina and it overheated really quick so I sent it back. Gotta have drones with fans if you live in very hot areas. The air 2s is a work horse.

    • @Dronevalley
      @Dronevalley  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Rand, I totally agree with you that the Mini 3 Pro is an amazing drone and I think a close competitor to the Air 2S but the advantages for me with the Air 2S include the Airsense (ADS-B) since I fly at the shore a lot, the larger sensor (1") for better quality video and the larger size helps with stability on windier days. I do love them both but the Air 2S is my go-to drone for work (and I own the Mavic 3) and the Mini 3 Pro is my travel companion. As for the new versions of the Mavic 3, I do fly and like them but feel that they are overkill for most consumers needs. @@mustanghuey89 Is that the Pro version or another version of the Mini 3? The overheating issues I've heard about are when the non-pro versions if it sits still to long while on. It needs to be moving for air cooling. Sheesh, that's almost unintended poetry. :D

You will never get 31 mins flight time from the air2s. I do agree that this beast is the best drone by dji for everything you need as a pilot

I agree that your mileage will vary depending on how you're flying. I normally land it with 20% of the power still in the batteries just to avoid the panic of landing with the RTH warning screaming at me.

@@Dronevalley Great video as always. Question, would you sell/trade a Mavic 2pro for the Air 2s?

@Dronevalley even hovering you still wouldn't get 31 mins. Hope there will be a air3 soon

@@AlanHunt73 The most I've gotten is 25, and that was with the intention of checking out flight time on a nice day with no wind. That said, I have no problem flipping batteries.

What more could you ask for? Flight time for one. Rick, 31 minutes IS plenty. Except Air 2S is good for 22-24 at best. Mavic 3 and Mini 3 (with plus battery) can nearly double that. Side Sensors for 2. Quieter operation for 3. An adjustable aperture. I think its a terrific drone, and the autonomous modes are terrific, but the current FW is from last year, has a huge bug in Course Lock Hyperlapse, and DJI seems possibly ready to release a mid-sized drone with Mavic 3 style omnidirectional object avoidance. For my Insta360 Sphere, i prefer my Mavic Air 2 for the 10% additional flight time (since the drone canera is only for monitoring the flight)

I have had a bunch of drones I like the my air 2s the best I think. I also have the FPV drone which I love and love to fly it with the motion controller. Who needs full acro! Lol!!!

Scott, I agree and own both FPV drones and camera drones and fly the FOV for fun and drones like the Air 2S for work. As long as I'm in the air, I'm smiling. Stay tuned for more content this week. Rick
