I have only used my engraving tip on leather, & was so happy to see something else I can use it on to learn. This would be a nice bridal shower gift, done on the knife & cake server for the wedding cake!!

Just recently I purchased a Cricut Maker and I have been making my own custom facemasks for friends and family. It's fun and hard work but the main thing that attracts me about the Cricut Maker is the engraving feature. I'm going to try your technique. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work. glad you left the ooops in. that would be what I'd do. how funny, I got a cookie spatula for my granddaughter. now I can give it to her with something on it.. thank you. the trick with engraving is to triple engrave, I was trying to find a thicker font, guess don't have to do that, check for a multi font.. still learning all this. lol. thank you.

What a clear directive video! Just two questions - I couldn't find stainless steel on my Maker. And do you have any tips on getting rid of the roughness of the engraving? I did use the tape to take off the bits. I used an alcohol wipe to clean off the tape residue and the cotton from the wipe was caught in the engraving. Thank you again for this great video!
The only stainless steel I have tried, besides these cookie spatulas, have been mason jar lids, shown in this post from our blog! So I can't tell you how stainless steel stamping blanks would work - the galvanized steel I tried at the end of the post did not look good at all, but that doesn't mean blanks wouldn't! It would be worth a try! 🥰
@@JenniferMaker Worth the try...Quick question I have been trying to engrave on aluminum dog tags and it keeps moving even with double sided tape holding it to the mat as well as painters tape all along the edges...Maybe the font im using? And would also know if u have came up with a free way to make it fill in the letters with a hatch fill? Have been doing alot of looking but u always come up with the absolute best ways for everything thats why ur channel is the first I go to when looking😊

You'll have to bend the blade on the knife so the handle bends up, that way blade will be flat

Make sure the linetype is set to engrave in Design Space and you have Maker chosen for your machine. You could try a buffing/polishing cloth.
