Friends was one of my favorite shows growing up, so much so that I can still recite entire scenes line-for-line! I realized there were actually a TON of medical scenes throughout the series, such as Rachel AND Phoebe giving birth, Ross’ third nipple, and Joey’s kidney stones. Let’s take a look at how accurate these scenes were and see if Friends holds up 20+ years later!
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

Yup, every mom. It's better than it was years ago. Back 50 years ago they'd be using a pre-schooler, but lately I've seen them pushing the envelope in getting the babies younger and younger. Obviously using a real newborn isn't reasonable, especially for the health of the baby, but they're getting closer.

There are clearly a lot of people that don't know the context of this clip. It is from a satire show called the Daily Show. In most of the correspondent interviews the correspondents (like Desi Lydic) act in stupid, weird, or inappropriate ways based on the characterized versions of themselves they are playing. Doctor Mike definitely knew this and understood this before ever going on the show. He is a smart man who was in on the joke.

The woman in the background when Rachel was pushing is an actual RN - she was required to be there bc the ‘newborn actor’ was so small they had to have proper medical personnel for safety
Also - the birthing fluid used in the scene is snack jelly (usually grape bc it’s the right colour and consistency) which helps tiny actors self soothe bc it’s sweet and gentle for baby tummies

When the OB saw my scans and figured out what was wrong she asked me if she could bring a few nurses and another doctor to hear my situation for teaching and for letting them see me first hand and hear what happened. Which I was 100% COOL WITH!!!! Ended up that the treatment I took was at the time experimental and my scans ended up in a medical journal.

Everyone there at the women's clinic is so very sweet, very caring, even talked about extra freezing cause I usually need more then most people- thank you dentist, and the Dr. talking about and understanding so got the right amount. Don't feel shy about talking about this cause it's for your comfort and they are used to this!
My regular family doctor, an elderly man now doesn't do it anymore but did explain all my birth control options very well, telling which is probably best for me and why based on my needs and history. Doctors should also be open and talk about everything- just like Dr. Mike says 😀

When I was giving birth, because of the epidural, I couldn't feel myself pushing. So when they said "push" I sometimes said "I thought I was pushing." And later on "am I pushing right now?" "No? How about this! Is this me pushing?" "Yes! Keep doing that!"

Hey, I'm curious how did they end up determining that's what you have? I've wondered if I have possibly been misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia when I might actually have this. My main symptoms that lead to the diagnosis was incredibly debilitating pain in my chest and ribcage which I ended up either bedridden for days or going to the emergency room where they didn't help me at all and said it's heartburn. I can tell you (and told them) with 100% certainty that it's not because A) I know what that feels like and B) I'm on a strict diet to avoid heartburn and IBS symptoms.
All my family doctor did to diagnose me with fibromyalgia was poke me in my pressure points (I already was diagnosed with MPS which explains the pressure points) and look at a picture of the muscular skeletal system that I printed out and I colored in where the pain was and it's severity. But she never did any further tests.
