Nice tuto video ! I have to work helping a friend changing his battery and it gives me good clues but the amount of work is INSANE for just changing a battery. I am really happy with my old Japanese bikes where changing a battery is 1 cover screw, One rubber band and two battery connection screw !!!
Awesome video...It looked a bit intimidating on other videos, but your attention to detail alleviated some of that fear... now I feel more comfortable trying it. Thanks !!!!!
Thanks so much for this video! I just changed the battery in my 2017 R nine T this past weekend and this video helped me get through it. If you have a friend (or willing kiddo) you can get away with pivoting the tank upright and having them hold the tank up instead or totally removing it. I did make sure there was minimal fuel in the tank and I did disconnect the fuel supply, return and electrical connector. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video!
Just discovered your channe!! Awesome video!!! With the SW motech slc side racks and the luggage rear rack can you fit well the side bags? No problem with that? Thanks!!!!

I agree. This is a shocking amount of work to get access to the battery. BMW please consider improving this. Are the GS touring bikes the same?
@ludditerebel not really, the GS are very accessible and relatively easy to change the battery!!
