Great job fella! As an eighties kid, loved the A Team..... along with Dukes of Hazzard, Knight rider etc etc. A lot of work goes into the prep and painting of one of these, but it's a highly rewarding process once complete! That looks stunning. 🙏 👍 👍 👍
@@rctamiyaaddict4687 Indeed!! How cool would that be then?! So many great car chase/stunt programmes and films came out in the eighties! I have done a General Lee on the Kyosho Fazer platform, and would love to do Rosco's sheriff car next! 48 years old and still not grown up yet! 😂 👍 👍 👍
@@alfredyost7972 I do love a General Lee matey! What Tamiya chassis did you use? I'm guessing perhaps the TTO2? 🤔 My General Lee is on a kyosho Fazer mk2 chassis..... It's featured in lots of our content over at Green Hawks RC! 👍 👍 👍
Awsome, i was tempted to do an a team theam to my lunchbox, or the cannonball run ambulance. Iconic 80’s vans. But im thinking i may do it as a police van now 😂
I painted my Tamiya Lunchbox van to look like the Scooby-Doo van. It is really easy to do. Just buy the decals in the UK and spray the van the green/blue color. Thoughts?
Hi iam not addicted, had no tamiya as a kid, did not know what tamiya is until i was 30 😂 but i like tamiya for no reason. I really don't know!! Great project! I did know 2 Hotwheels bodys for tamiya chassis.
Tamiya was always out of reach as a kid. Parent could only afford the cheaper ready to run RC cars, which was fine. As an adult, able to afford these things, then why not eh. Can’t say I see many children playing with Tamiya RC cars though.
Yeah after masking a section, sprayed some TS clear. This gets in any of the small gaps that haven’t masked and stops the coloured paint bleeding through when sprayed. That’s the theory anyway.
Tamiya has the wheels in Metalic Red. They are from a Lunch box or Suzuki Jimny model Special Editions. I have the wheels in Metalic Blue and I threw them on the Chrome Pumpkin. You got to find the Red ones man!
This looks great, spectacular. I need to ask please because ive never painted an abs hard body shell rc car , but what preparation is needed? Specifically priming and scrubbing the body shell? Ive painted smal 1/24 and 1/25 scale model cars made from abs plastic years back and mostly used Tamiya paint and got beautiful results. But i didnt ever prime or undercoat them.
I rubbed it down with a green pad and washed it all down. Then Tamiya paints used. Used clear paint over the masking tape to try and stop bleeds seeping through. Mistakes will be made, but worst case is to start it all again.
@@rctamiyaaddict4687 it's an honour to meet another tamiya fan, even as my first car I found the teu 101bk speed control flawless very smooth and responsive compared to mechanical. Sorry I love rc cars lol
Amazing work!! Spot on with this custom lunchbox. Great stuff 🙌🏻
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching.

Tamiya should get the rights to produce these 80s tv and film cars. Thanks for taking a look.

I’d like to do an NYC police van for some reason. But I’ve got three shells now, so probably won’t. Thanks for taking a look.
@@rctamiyaaddict4687 that would be a nice look, as would a ghostbusters style lunch box 👌

Awesome video and spectacular job on the paintwork. You mentioned about spraying a gloss coat after fresh paint to prevent bleeding??
Yeah after masking a section, sprayed some TS clear. This gets in any of the small gaps that haven’t masked and stops the coloured paint bleeding through when sprayed. That’s the theory anyway.
It looks good! I will eventually do one of these as well, it is too col not to have one!

Hello all the way from South Africa, hard to believe I owned that exact model back in 2006, good truck but needs a beefy motor
