In 2003, I began a lifestyle change. My triglycerides were 495 beforehand. Within 3 months, I had lost a lottle weight but substantially improved my bloodwork numbers. Almost 20 years later (age 69), my tri's have crept up again. Watching your video helped explain why. Thanks!
I am currently following these methods. I just spoke with dietician and she suggested also adding more high fiber veggies to diet to reduce triglyceride. As for sleep, i've noticed breathing exercises before sleep with no tv on has helped me stau sleep through the night.
65 yo male. My triglycerides have been as high as 2500. I have been on Keto since Jan 1, having lost from 200 to 185. Before I started Keto my triglycerides were 750. Yesterday they were measured at 1055. Even though I lost 15+ pounds my triglycerides went up 300 pts. I have been struggling with this since discovery in my early 30s. My plan at this point is to reduce portion size on Keto and implement intermittent fasting.
Let me tell you what helps me: 1- Walking every day, 30-60 minutes. Taking fish oil. Taking niacin. Staying away from sugar. Eating twice a day. No snacking. Eating fresh vegetables and fruits like apples, blueberries, and red cabbage. Sitting too much is not recommended.
I was regularly active but now usually am. Left whole grains for refined carbs due to phytates. Hardly eat junk food but my tri were 160. Now completely gave up grains and fill the void with bananas. Can't wait to see tri results
My triglycerides were not high before I went on keto last August (76) but by my annual physical in January I had lowered them to 56 while raising my HDL from 41 to 76 which made my important trig./HDL ratio 0.74 when under 2 is good. So I'm good with it.
My weakness was flavored coffee creamer. One week after cutting that out I felt better. And my bloating was greatly reduced. It got me motivated to go farther with my diet changes.

So here's the gist of it. I'm 20, very lean and muscular carnivore for 4-5 months, eat 4-5 eggs a day, minced beef, hamburgers ,cheese, salmon. Fasting 19-18 hours a day, 2 meals no calorie restriction. BUT, I like to cheat every Saturday night. I'll have pizza, cookies, chocolate, energy drinks. I know it's baaad but I kinda like it, you know just a moment off, just a night a week. Could cheating occasionally like I do raise my thryglices so high that I could get heart disease or something like plaque in the arteries?
Excellent and very informative 👍 Infact we have bn listening n watching such stuff since long, but the way it has bn presented here in a simplified manner is appreciable 👍👍👍
Yup I'm here because my Triglycerides was 999. I think the lab I deal with just stops counting at 999 so who knows what they actually are. I'm an active average build "healthy looking" guy. Everything you said in your vid to do or change I've been doing the opposite up until now. Thanks for the video!
Fish oil was a game changer for me. Combining daily fish oil and weight loss dropped mine from a high of 2300 to 200. I try to get the most potent available off the shelf and take 4 a day. I look for the highest Omega3 amount too. I think it helps with joint pain too. I feel better at 58 than I did at 38.
@@acer4237 Nature Made Burp - Less Ultra Omega - Fish Oil 1400 mg Softgels at Target, but I've also used some others from Costco. I just pick something 1200 MG or more and 720 or more Omega 3. I take 4 a day.
My triglycerides gone down a lot since I lost a lot of weight but still high. I need to stop eating sugary and processed foods. And start exercising again.
I've learned the hard way that carnivore/keto doesn't always help cholesterol. There are those of us with a genetic mutation that completely change everything. I was an active alcoholic that ate lean meat, a lot of starches, and plenty of carbs. My Tris and HDL were in the normal range. A strict carnivore for a few months and then keto saw my tris quadruple. Not everyone processes fatty meat the same. This is something people should be aware of before blindly following what they see on the internet.
@@CryptoLTP5 I abandoned carnivore and went back to lean meats. I eat some carbs like potatoes and beans, but not processed crap. I take Nordic Naturals Omega-3 every day. All this combined saw my levels drop significantly. I'm still a little high, but that's genetic. No matter how I ate, how much I exercised, etc., I've had slightly elevated Tris/HDL since the first time I was tested, so I'm not concerned with levels hovering around the high point. I refuse to take a statin because it's terrible for testosterone, something else the Dr's don't tell you when they try to force pills on you the second your cholesterol isn't in their range.
I'm not overweight , so I thought eating unhealthy wouldn't affect my cholesterol levels...I was wrong! In October it was 6.5mmol/L 😮. My triglycerides were very low though, thankfully. I've been eating very healthy, lots of veggies, fruit, potatoes, oats etc and have managed to reduce it to 4.1mmol/L, which I'm delighted with. My partner has always eaten very healthy and luckily has high HDL 1.6mmol/L, but his triglycerides are above the recommendation limit. Here in the UK the normal range is 0 to 1.6, but his was 1.9. We were both very surprised, but have since found out it's caused by his medication. It just seems so unfair
Likely all these tips work but I only use one. For the last 30 years I've eaten a very low carb diet. I allow myself 12 net carbs per day. Net carbs are sugars. My triglycerides are between 45 and 60 and currently my hdl is at 80. I put these levels down to my low carb diet and nothing else that I do. Your triglycerides are a direct result of the amount of sugars you consume but even whole grains and fruit will raise those levels.
So I began making some changes to my diet and activity. I started in December 2021. I weighed 252 Lbs. my total cholesterol was 247, HDL 44, LDL 169, Triglycerides 172. I started eating healthier, and working out regularly. As of today, my weight is down to. 236. I just had my latest lipid test yesterday and my total cholesterol is down to 226, HDL 40, LDL lowered to 144, but my Triglycerides went up to 212. I’m so confused as to why. I feel a lot healthier and I feel like I’ve been improving my lifestyle. I really liked your video, but was curious on your thoughts as to why they may have gone up. I do enjoy a glass of wine a few days a week, but I’m not a big drinker. I really don’t eat “sugary” snacks. My breakfast is usually plain oatmeal with some protein powder mixed in. I have a follow up with my Dr, but I’m just trying to do mu own research. By the way, I’m a 45 year old male.
Almost exact same situation. I lost 20 pounds from eating a lot healthier (no sugar, no gluten) and my triglyceride levels sky rocketed from 90’s to 257. Still don’t understand why that happened and neither does my doctor. Any luck on your research?
Oatmeal will raise your blood sugar. If you are using any sugar free foods check label for maltodextrin , its worse than sugar. And check your protein shake for maltodextrin , whey protein could turn to sugar.
Careful with MCT... Good fats but you have to burn them very fast or it does not let you lose weight. Take fish oil instead and watch your triglycerides drop like a rock
You promised to share the reason which is rare for higher triglycerides along with higher HDL. I take fish oil supplements daily and I have higher HDL and higher triglycerides as well.
I have done all of the things you suggested except the sleep one, plus I have jumped in with both feet to carnivore. I’ll have my 3mth bloods done in about 10 days so it will be interesting to see if it has worked. I had already reduced my triglycerides in the previous 3 months by going harder on the keto.
Hopefully one day there will be a explaination about genetic versus acquired high cholesterol. My Dr said its genetic and all the measures taken as sugested by knowledgeable professionals is of no help so here you go please take lipotor. That drug made me quite ill. So now I have to put up with the guilt trip because Im not a cooperative patient. Surely high levels all of ones life is to be studied apart from the acquired version. To me there seems to be a hole in the theories. cholesterol

I can’t hear all these exeperts with their “studies”. A lot of it is a BS. I’m eating and living healthy, no alcohol at all literally zero, only water, exercising, normal BMI, and still have high triglycerides since few years. Now mid 40’s. There are so many reasons why you might have them and it’s for everyone a different one. If it would be that general and easy to understand a human body then there wouldn’t be deceases at all.

As you mentioned about the blue light effect it has on you from your devices, I have the app on my devices already installed and so I set mine to on mode 24/7, minus -1 minute because you have to allow one minute in the 24-hour period that the blocker is not on for the 24-hour timer to be reset, so I set mine for beginning at 3:00 a.m. and it turns off at 2:59 a.m. and turns back on one minute later and stays on the entire 24 hours minus one minute therefore I don't get exposed to any blue light on my devices at all because the blocker is always on. So the use of blue blocker eyeglasses or anything else is unnecessary. and if you don't have a blue blocker app already comes installed on the device then install one (they also come under the name, Night Light) and use it the way I do So if you turn it on and set it to the highest setting in the red zone and you won't have any blue light at all, therefore no interference to your circadian rhythm, or to sleep, or any other adverse effect it causes.

By seeing your MCT oil benefit in this video my total cholesterol jumped up to 240 from 180, the triglyceride also started running up from 115.
It doesn’t have to be fish oil. Algae oil with DHA and EPA is also a good option for Omega 3s.

This video really helped me understand the concept and I need to get my triglycerides low asap .... Thank You Kait 😊
I was regularly active but now usually am. Left whole grains for refined carbs due to phytates. Hardly eat junk food but my tri were 160. Now completely gave up grains and fill the void with bananas. Can't wait to see tri results
Excellent presentation 😊
My triglycerides were not high before I went on keto last August (76) but by my annual physical in January I had lowered them to 56 while raising my HDL from 41 to 76 which made my important trig./HDL ratio 0.74 when under 2 is good. So I'm good with it.

I am going to follow these tips too
So here's the gist of it.
Excellent and very informative 👍
Infact we have bn listening n watching such stuff since long, but the way it has bn presented here in a simplified manner is appreciable 👍👍👍
Yup I'm here because my Triglycerides was 999. I think the lab I deal with just stops counting at 999 so who knows what they actually are. I'm an active average build "healthy looking" guy. Fish oil was a game changer for me. Combining daily fish oil and weight loss dropped mine from a high of 2300 to 200. I try to get the most potent available off the shelf and take 4 a day.
What do you do now? I’m in that situation as well
@@CryptoLTP5 I abandoned carnivore and went back to lean meats.
I drink alot of beer. Its from sugar im told. 500. Up and down forever. Starting a shot of evoo every morning. I eat well
Thanks coach! It's better to maintain a TG/HDL ratio of 1.5 or less, to lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Primal kitchen Mayo and ketchup is a must have.
@@myrague Check your stress level
Oatmeal will raise your blood sugar. If you are using any sugar free foods check label for maltodextrin , its worse than sugar. And check your protein shake for maltodextrin , whey protein could turn to sugar.
Careful with MCT... Good fats but you have to burn them very fast or it does not let you lose weight. Take fish oil instead and watch your triglycerides drop like a rock
MCTs cant be stored as fat so this isn’t true.

Hello, how about flaxseeds and fiber? Do they help to reduce triglycerides?
I take Fish Pills every day that has 980 mg of Omega-3. EPA 647mg and DHA 253mg. Do you think that is enough or should I have more?
