"No matter if you have trails to tackle or summits to scale, these rugged and precise GPS smartwatches have all the practical features to take you there". No, they don't : where are the maps ?
Exactly as I expected absolutely minimal upgrade. Most of the functions could be updated via update I2. They didn't even add a new heart rate sensor. The amoled display is a mockery. It will be bought by the absolute minimum number of people, because instinct users are complete mimimalists. 🤷
Agreed. No v5 HR sensor (which is 2yrs old already!!), no maps on the AMOLED model. Barely an upgrade. I had a €200 coupon so just bought a Fenix 7 which was €400 new. No idea who would buy this new Instinct when the Fenix and Epix 2 are basically the same price right now.
I could kinda understand not having maps on the MIP version, but to not have it on the OLED is rediculous! What the hell good is a color screen without it!?
Having maps on Instinct 3 would kill Fenix series. These two would have a nearly identical set of features. There is one curious thing about these Instinct 3 announcements, the AMOLED screen is not described as touch anywhere. It’s either because they just assume it something you take for granted these days OR that this watch is operated only by buttons. Which would be super weird.
@ i used Fenix 5 for around 4 years and was perfectly happy with it. I have a Fenix 7 Pro now and still use buttons more than touchscreen. But it’s 2025, not 2017, expectations are way different, and this watch is AMOLED which is already super weird to have this combo of AMOLED and no touchscreen.
Thank you for your question. The Instinct 3 AMOLED has a chemically strengthened glass lens, whereas the Instinct 3 Solar has a Power Glass solar charging lens (the same glass lens that is in your Instinct 2X Tactical).
To balance out negative comments... I've been holding off buying an Instinct 2 Solar for MONTHS pending this release. I will be one of the first to order a 45mm Instinct 3 Solar and I'm rarely an early adopter of anything. Battery life is my highest priority which looks unchanged with the MIP display, but I also want that Torch light which Garmin wisely added to the smaller models. Was close to getting the 2X but dang that thing is huge. My one complaint is Marketing deciding it needed a red accent ring, but I'm willing to tolerate or paint over that to get the features I want. Maybe it will grow on me? Lastly, I can't believe people want maps on a such a tiny screen. Smartphones are so much easier to use, why wouldn't you just carry that?
Only thing I’m disappointed in is the lack of ecg on this. Been wearing instinct 2 for a year now and needed just one more thing besides the torch to justify buying the 3..
People are more disappointed that Garmin is targeting an audience that is not oriented towards the sport, more than those that are. The lack of maps and the old sensor, but the new colors and the screen that no one asked for are proof of that.
@@noisetin They want you to buy the Fenix, but not everyone wants that giant heavy fucking thing on their wrist. They truly missed the mark going broad instead of going deep into this product. They're just going to set themselves up for ANOTHER model in their god damn line up to offer a "Military Turbo Silicone Zipline Pro" Instinct, market it as "Tactical" and charge 900 for it.
i love the looks and the direction the intinct 3 is heading! However, using the last-gen sensor and no maps is.. questionable i think a mix of the fenix and the instinct (more polished look like fenix, screen and battery saving mechanisms from instinct) would be the ideal watch for me. The enduro heads in that direction, but the battery is not yet infinite on solar and its just huge
Is stepcounter Finally good? It's total Trash on Instinct 2 & most other Garmin watches :( Undercounts like crazy when just moving in short bursts /around the house/yard compared to Samsung or Apple.
Your tracking and wellness features based on old sensors. You put them in the Venu, but not this? Maps, also not there...for a hiker's/outdoors watch. Touchless AMOLED...also...why? I can consult in your design/marketing for free if need be.
No maps. No new HR sensor. Don't bother until they release their, inevitable, 400 dollar more one with all the features that should have came with this one.
You know what would be a hundred times better than this? Think about it. Take the transreflective mip from Fénix 7 pro with solar and elevate 5 and put it in Instinct 3. Bam. Top model. But no. We will use Amoled for children. Cause they are our target group. And where are maps? Where? I am a long time user of Instinct, but I am disappointed.
So so so disappointed ! What a downfall for Garmin. No touch on amoled, old sensors, no maps and expensive :-( Other brand and models who have all of those extra are at about same price or even less ¡¡¡¡
Looks cool…but please make a smart ring! I know they ain’t perfect but my epix keeps saying I’ve had a 90+ sleep when my baby has had me up 3 times… so let’s get that ring made! 😂👍🏻

Will be available in Instinct 3 Amoled Tactical Ultra Max Pro

Any reason to upgrade is a LED flashlight but if you're the 2X user reasons to upgrade goes to zero.
Time to buy the Instinct 2 on discount
I'm glad I have no reason to update my instinct crossover solar from what I can see... The only difference is garmin share?

Dealbreakers: No maps and the orange accents on the solar version.
still plastic lens, no glass? no reason for me to update my 2x tactical then.

@GarminRetailTraining "power glass" means a sort of plastic right?
@ARPost-kn2jlmaybe tempered would be the term.
@ARPost-kn2jl it's not even touch screen, so no point in having it. it's just marketing shit to the masses.
@@robbied4766 i dont really need touch, but want scratch resistance
more colors later?
what about a 3x solar tactical amoled coming ?
Will there be a tactical model? Why does the MIP only have 128mb of storage but the AMOLED has 4gb??
Is it worth it to change the 2 x tactical for this one ?

Tactix 8 > please 🙏🏻
Enduro 3 -> go for it 😅
Can you make a 60mm solar?
How does this one stand vs enduro 3?
The E3 has the newer HR sensor. For the other specs use the garmin compare tool
Just noticed according to the specs page they only have 4gb of memory so they may not have topo offline maps
Basically think of it as an Enduro 1 with Amoled I guess
