    Ridgid are the very finest battery powered tools I have owned in a 48 year career. This particular tool is the greatest in a bar fight.

    Very impressive. Not only was I impressed with its performance, but I was also impressed with how well the blade held up to those 100+ nails. Great demonstration.

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike L. Thanks Mike! The blade was a Diablo Carbide Tipped Nail-Embedded Wood blade....they are about $11 at Home Depot ---- zero tooth damage at all & the only thing it did was rub the paint off. I will be doing a review on these at some point soon.

    Little advice when you were cutting the pipe you should cut as close as posible to the vice so it stops the vibration and the saw is more efficient. good review

      Chris Davis Thanks Chris! I have been happy with the performance of the Gen5X recip saw....keep in mind that the blade you use is really going to affect the performance of any saw, so definitely invest in quality ones.

      I have a dewalt cordless drill and impact driver
      I am thinking of changing brands in the future
      As a brand, do you think ridgid is better or equal to Dewalt brand of tools
      (reliability, features, performance,warranty etc)

    Very nice review and an impresive tool. The older model had problems with battery protection shutting the tool down. It was very frustrating. Nice to see Ridgid got that fixed.

    Its interesting you got the same amount of cuts in orbital mode vs regular mode.

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Love2boat92 Yeah that was weird.....I figured no one wanted to watch the same cuts over & over, but I did test it out in both modes & got the identical amount of cuts. Funny thing.....with the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Circular saw, I did runtime testing & got the EXACT number of cuts that Milwaukee advertised on it also.....not too often does that happen.

  • @SD-gl6ip
    @SD-gl6ip 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    nice vid review. only issue i saw, is that you didn't actually cut through a single nail during the nail test Lol! otherwise you would see the cross-section of each nail embedded in the wood on both separate pieces of wood after the length-cut.. instead all you see is two smooth edges with no nails.
    I'm sure you must've realized This sleight-of-saw trick after the fact? correct me if am wrong but play the vid back and see incase no-one has noticed ..Lol.
    next time just cut a bit higher, and you'll likely notice it won't be so smooth or fast to cut through that strip, although with the right blade it wood cut thru tho ;) just given you some constructive criticism to enhance any future vid ;)

  • @jaredtomochak4946

    How would you say this saw compares to the fuel sawzall in runtime and power since you have review both.

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The FUEL is better....but costs a LOT more. This is one of the better ones in it's class/price range. For most people the RIDGID would work great.

    I got all my tools stolen. I had all milwakee but the battery was not up to my liking . What a brand that out does milwakee standards with better battery life

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ruben Melendez The M18 FUEL (brushless) line is hard to beat.....but comparable would be 18v Makita & 20v Max (brushless) Dewalt.

  • @themechanic6117
    @themechanic6117 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm curious how this stacks up against Milwaukee saw..

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jonathan Renteria The M18 FUEL Sawzall is going to be the most powerful cordless saw on the market....but it is also going to cost about twice as much as the RIDGID Gen5X......for a brushed recip saw, this is definitely one of the most powerful out.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply . my Milwaukee collection is growing and every new tool impresses me .

  • @chitham3191

    Right need your opinion which one do you prefer milwaukee sawzall fuel or this ridgid recip saw?

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** The M18 FUEL Sawzall is the most powerful out currently....the Ridgid gets the job done with really no issues, but power-wise the Milwaukee would win that battle. Also, keep in mind that the Milwaukee is $200+ by itself & the Ridgid is part of the 5-pc Gen5X kit that retails currently for $399 --- so not really a fair comparison.

    • @dadymakeithot

      Milwaukee makes rigdid, both good brands powerful & reliable!

    • @dadymakeithot
      @dadymakeithot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Real Tool Reviews Milwaukee makes rigdid , don't judge by price, Milwaukee are for industrial heavy use durable rigdid is the slightly cheaper brand just like black & Decker make dewalt, but Milwaukee put a lot more effort, details, dedication into building their power tools& for a affordable price! kudos to Milwaukee/rigdid.

    • @dadymakeithot
      @dadymakeithot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there anyway to take the tool apart and remove that quick release as my blade broke off inside the quick release and I I have tried everything to get the blade out but it won’t release. what’s weird is that the broken lock piece of the blade is somewhat loose inside that quick release. Any help is appreciated.

    What power tools do you recommend

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      mk corona The easiest way to answer that would be....."the ones that I review". I dont do reviews on tools that I dont like. Do you have a specific task/job setting that you work with? I could fine tune a recommendation based on your needs.

    How does this stack up to the milwaukee m18 sawzall?

    • @RealToolReviews
      @RealToolReviews  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nathan Hampton I havent used the regular M18 version.....but the M18 FUEL Sawzall is the most powerful cordless recip there is......but keep in mind that it does cost twice as much as this. For the money, the RIDGID Gen5X is definitely a great deal & has a ton of power ---- especially for the brushed tool.
