Thanks for the comparison - really helpful. After having only hobonichi books this year, but only using the monthly and weekly pages in the A5 cousin, my set-up for 2019 is going to be an A6 Hobonichi Techo for daily journaling pages and a Jibun Techo A5 slim for weekly and monthly planning. I ended up selling the A5 hobonichi I’d bought and am waiting for Jibun Techo to arrive! Really hoping this will work out better for me, without waste and duplication. There are lots of wonderful things about hobonichi products and I think both brands have their place.
Great comparison, thank you! I have a Jibun Biz B6 mini and was trying to find somewhere that showed how much bigger the A5 slim was - so thanks again!
Same. I like the simpler look of the hobonichi but I HATE the daily pages!!! I don't need a whole page for a day, so it's just a waste of paper and space for me. I wish there was a version without the daily pages.
Very nice overview of the Jibun. I like the way the weeks look and the tracking pages. I was curious about the differences. I'm rather new to hobonichi but excited to try it. The A5 cousin size also comes in a full book so it isn't split in two like the avec that you have, and you can get memo books that fit inside their covers like the idea books. I ordered the a6 size bundled with a cover, and I picked up the weekly supplement and some memo books too. I was also looking at the weeks version with just weeks and months like the jibun, but I like the size of the A6 and the daily pages. Thanks again, enjoyed your video.
I was on the hobonichi site last night and saw their a6 weeks book. I think that would make a wonderful system paired with the a6 techo. Since this video i've fallen more in love with my hobonichi. I'll be doing an updated video soon. I took this week off from youtube and my blog to focus on my kid's first week of school.
great video! I think we might be planner twins. lol! I'm switching from a Hobo A5 to Jibun A5 right now. Though I love the Hobo a5, I didn't really need the entire daily page regularly. They are too big for bujo daily logging, and too small for journaling. So I switched to the Jibun so I have free space in the Idea book for as much or little daily bujo. I hated not using all that nice paper in the Hobo dailies. Also 100% agree with you on the Jibun Biz paper quality! No warping with my heavy writing and friction pen erasing!!
Thanks for this comparison! Question - I’m a newbie to both kinds of paper...I love my gel pens (grip matters to me for pens because I have chronic tendonitis in my wrist & elbow). Have you tried gel pens in both planners? I’m not a huge fan of the feel of fineliners in my hand. I’m worried about spending the money on either of these and then have massive smearing or that Braille-like digging thru to the next page (I’m super heavy handed too. 😬) Thanks! 💜
I love this video! Thank you, this was very helpful to me. I love hobonichi, but I will be going for a Jibun next year. Do you like the A5 or B6 size more?

I completely agree!! That sounds like a wonderful plan for 2019.
THAT was an awesome review. I'm going to revisit the Jibun Techo. I love the Hobonichi Weeks, but I'm going to try the A5 Techo again. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!

Love seeing them side by side!

Hi! I also love gel pens but the Tomoe River paper hates them. :/. You would be better off with the Jibun.
Best video on this subject! Thank you.
thanks! this sealed it for me, I'll be getting a Jibun Techo [the standard, tho, cuz I need more color in my life lol]

I have gravitated toward the A5 this year. I'll be going with B6 in 2019 though. B6 is easier to carry for me.
Do you know if the A5slim Jibun Techo fits in a Gillio Appunto A5?
I have no idea! If you try it or find out please let me know though.
Jibun Techo all the way!
❤❤
