Why is strava not supporting multisport, it been on the whish list for years. they really need to pick up the pace. Darkmode is nice, but there are definitely more pressing needs...
Would love them to sort out "workout type" with some decent options - if I do a strength, row or elliptical workout it's not a "Commute" :) How about options like Tempo, Intervals, Easy, Fartlek, Steady state or custom options?
It’s great to see the shift in momentum at Strava. I’d love to see them continue to build upon things like the heat maps and route planning. As someone who trains heavily and travels for work, it would be great to be able to filter/customize heat maps using data from segmented athlete profile types - such as those who train more frequently with heavy volume or longer distances -vs- data from recreational or commuting journeys.
Wow. Weekly heat maps will be absolutely HUGE for me here in Utah. Always checking trail conditions through segments. Verified segments is a great idea too, will that apply only to famous climbs like Alpe du Huez (shown in the video) or everyday (but notable) climbs that have lots of segments tracking the same thing? Also hiding start times will be awesome too
The issue with Strava is that they have to do so much to go beyond a X(Twitter)/Instagram for athletes. They have and continue to add decent features which adds to the platform but none are stand out and only justified with the new prices because “everything is in one place”. Navigation, training plans, traning insights, body metrics…etc all are done better elsewhere but none are as convenient if you live in Strava and that is their sweet point. Can Strava go beyond and offer real value and insight or will they remain the “preferred social media for the active” and base their business on that alone? We shall see
Announcing these whole lot of Features, which are great for sure, but not telling at least a time a little more specific is annoying a bit. Spring and Summer are the seasons people get out the most…. Hopefully the Features will be worth waiting for.
@DesFit He may be referring to when you said subscriber's have access to this feature while everyone else will have to wait. I went looking for it was well.
Dark mode, awesome (and for non-subs, well done Strava). Athlete Intelligence Beta - nah, daft. Just LLMing the stats from activities into a paragraph, doesn't seem to add much in the way of insight. Perhaps if it digested longer time horizon trends to identify insights that you might not immediately spot yourself by looking at activity summaries or existing charts.
Hope they make advancements to the ai function in which you can interact with the AI, like: "show me all sections with more than 5% elevation change and show the speeds in min/mile" or something similar...
Having heat maps with the possibility of chosing the days and specific time would be so great to have a better understanding of

That's definitely a good call-out
I can‘t even mark swims as a race, but at least as a commute.

I am a strava subscriber . And updated my app recently but I don’t have the strava ai beta
It’s still a beta feature
@@DesFitit says that subscribers get access to the beta in the recent update.
@@andrewebb8043 just got it today

Are they going to bring Dark Mode to the website?
It would make no sense not to do so.
Wait what, how do you have this? I am in beta tester program and don't have it😢
This is all well and good and all, but I just want strava to default to showing cycling-related information when I go to the maps page.

Possible to have dark mode without subscription?
this is amazing for dark

I've joined the beta program to try the dark mode option but I can't find where I switch it on.
This was a closed beta, I don’t think you can actually sign up. Where did you try to sign up?

@@DesFit I joined the beta program that they have on Google Play store. It didn't come to mind that they might have more than 1 beta program
O don't have appearance in my settings (* just updated my app today)
As mentioned in the video, it’s in beta and coming later this summer

Great summary Des. I feel like these features will help soften the blow of the sub price rise earlier this year (at least in the UK)
Thanks, Chris!
The price increase was perfectly reasonable anyways.
A big question I'm hoping to get answered, Des-will dark mode be applicable to the web version of Strava as well?
Is the dark mode work only for members? because i can't find the option to change it 🤔
Currently only in beta version, not live yet
@@johannesddHow can i enjoy the beta?
this feature is only for super members. you need to pay $500 per month
Im skeptical. You don't need AI to flag those car rides, just a simple algorithm, since they already calculate power. Not buying it
I take it this Strava update with dark mode is just for North America as I cant get on my Strava.
should be for everyone. The feature comes out later this summer.
@@natea526 Ok Thanks
I don't get the point if dark mode
Reduce eye strain at night but also just personal preference
The ‘AI’ feature seems utterly useless

How about a pricing plan for retirees who are on a fixed income?
