    Hi Jim.
Very Nice colors and very good job. I like the fly tying, because each tied fly is unique by it self, no matter who made it. Congratulations.
    Miro.

I agree & each natural is unique. I prefer flies that are similar but not from a cookie cutter. It makes things interesting, seeing how many vatiations of the same fly a trout will take.

Good job Jim, I really like your video's, I just recently inherited my father in laws fly fishing gear and materials and I've learn't a lot from you, I'm a sea kayaker and paddled a lot of rivers, this spring I can't wait to cast. Cheers, Scott, (Getaway Kayaking)

When imitating a mayfly you want to match what the fish see. A Light body is what most Green Drake have, The rib I used because a fly that big will have distinct segments. Making it olive helps suggest a green color, as with the hackle. Green Drake have wings that are tinted green. I try to keep things close to the pattern books. But this pattern is from Charles Meck author of many fly fishing books.

Hey Jim, the name suggests the fly should be green. Olive hackle and rib but it doesn't look Green? Is it a variation on the green drake? Just wondering. I know you substituted for the tail. Personally I think moose mane would have been over the top.
