- The Battle of Franklin Trust is embarking on a noble and necessary project to visually represent every enslaved man, woman, and child who lived and labored at our sites in 1860. Carnton was home to 44 enslaved individuals, the Carter farm to 28, and Rippa Villa 75. For too long they have been invisible. We intend to change that.
In this video, hear from individuals who have dreamed this project into existence about what it means to them and why representation matters. Then go to boft.org/enslavedproject to learn more and to help us make this a reality.
Please like, subscribe, and comment.
The mission of the Battle of Franklin Trust is to preserve, understand, and interpret the story of a people forever impacted by the American Civil War.

Incredible. Thanks for all you do to preserve our history and to speak truth.
The struggle for fair and equal rights for all has been a struggle long before any of us were born and will most likely continue long after we're gone. That makes it all the more important to study, learn, and preserve history for future generations. We can never allow ourselves to forget.
Thank you for this great project!
