My own list: The Wyatt Family: The Fiend had some irritable booking decisions, but Bray and his followers in the early days of their main roster run just had bad booking all around. They were white hot coming up and they immediately feuded with Kane which led to a Ring of Fire Match. Bray also just took on lower tier talent like Miz and Kofi that probably should’ve been good, but they were more or less filler matches for PPVs. It wasn’t until the feud with Daniel Bryan, The Shield, and John Cena where it felt like they were getting somewhere even with the bad booking sprinkled in time from time. After Cena defeated Wyatt, The Wyatt Family became an after thought. Rowan was barely around, Harper was a decent mid-carder, and Wyatt just kinda floated feud to feud. They came back together with Braun Strowman now on their side, but just couldn’t break through like they used to and they were buried to Brock, Taker, Rock, and Cena (again even in a segment). They tried with Wyatt, Orton, and Harper which worked until Bray got the world title and lost it in a horrible title match at WM33. Vince just never believed in these guys. Cesaro: His character work might not have been the best, but he was a good worker for the mid-card. Dude should’ve won the U.S. or IC Title in his babyface run. He did some great stuff with Ziggler and Owens. Even with Sheamus, he developed a great character and then he just existed until he got his title match against Reigns in 2021 and then got released. Dolph Ziggler: I don’t need to talk about Ziggler. Maybe not main event material in the long haul, but he was pretty much modern day Shawn Michaels with his athleticism, aura, and selling. He was a great mid-carder and proved he can be reliable. Even if he ended up still getting released, 2013 was his year to at least get that main event run he was destined for. Big E: I’m a major Big E fan and I was so happy that he won the MiTB Briefcase in 2021. I was looking forward to seeing how they would book him as WWE Champion and firmly believed if he was just kept in that picture, he wouldn’t have suffered his potential career ending injury cause he wouldn’t have to work with Ridge Holland. Instead, he lost the title in a Fatal 5 Way to Brock. Didn’t even get a rematch at the Royal Rumble. And then suffered that injury in the build up to a lower tier tag team match. Shinsuke Nakamura: I think Nakamura is pretty much the definition of “Vince just wanted this guy because he’s popular in Japan and he wanted to taste that fame.” He had a decent run in NXT and honestly, I still felt like he had a few more months on the yellow brand personally. It’s clear Vince didn’t know how to use him when he came up to the main roster. Rey Mysterio: Yes, he’s a Hall of Famer. Yes, he’s going down as one of the greatest luchadors of all time. Yes, he’s had a great career, but not a good world title track record. Won the strap in 2006 doing it for Eddie and proceeded to lose every big match he was in except for defending the title. Won again in 2010, only had a month reign and lost to Kane. Won the WWE Championship and lost it on the same night to John Cena. Pretty much Vince just didn’t want him as world champion because he’s a little guy. EC3: Boy never had a chance and I honestly would’ve taught Vince would bank money on this guy.
Kieth Lee self sabotaged himself. WWE told him to lose weight and if you watched him then and now he’s winded constantly. Gunther was told to lose weight and did, and now he’s a star.
Buddy Murphy is another name I can think of. I never followed him before his call-up, but his matches with Aleister Black were some of my favorites. They really let both of them walk.

*A couple of names when it comes to WWE fumbling the bag with are these superstars for me…* Dean Ambrose: Despite being possibly the most popular member of The Shield, the company always treated him like the black sheep as they were more favorable towards Rollins(Triple H’s Guy) and Reigns(Vince McMahon’s guy). Not to mention the fact that I hated how they turned them into a complete comedy act. Bray Wyatt: He was one of the most intriguing characters in the history of the company but yet every time it seemed like he was gonna get pushed the company just did their best to completely squander his momentum. Christian: He was one of WWE’s most loyal workers but it’s very clear that Vince McMahon for some particular reason hated his guts as he wanted to put a blue dot on his face. Plus, he should’ve been a multipletime world champion throughout his tenure. Samoa Joe: This guy was just a total package: great talker, immensely over with the audience and a phenomenal worker in the square circle despite his size. Yet somehow someway, they still didn’t know how to utilize him. The fact that Jinder Mahal was WWE champion and he never did so insulting to me. Owen Hart: Despite being a part of one of the most famous families in the history of wrestling, I am so appalled that this man never got to be world champion, despite having all the tools to be a world champion from his phenomenal in-ring work, excellent promo skills and was a great human being. A couple honorable mentions: Ricochet, Allister Black, Ember Moon, Dolph Ziggler, Gail Kim, Cesaro, etc.
@@SuperSaiyanBroku True, but both reigns were very forgettable. First one lasted literally just two days and the second run lasted just barely a month. While his rivalry with Randy Orton was undeniably, he was made to look completely weak by always coming up short compared to Orton.
I agree with 99% of these and probably could add 20 more. With that said, am I the only person that doesn't get Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley at all? He has had a few decent promos, but nothing that is more than a funny soundbite. His ring work is not good at all and his characters are pretty boring. If the only thing tuat sets you apart is bleeding in every match, is that actually special? I will never forget that infamous podcast with Stone Cold. If you cannot pull it together for an opportunity like that, that's on you.
Hideo Itami, Swerve, Deonna Purrazzo, Mickie James (return), Dana Brooke, and Harper, Kushida, (imo) Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder, EC3, The IIconics, Ember Moon, GAIL KIM, and more Current that come to mind: The Good Brothers, Nakamura, Mis Yim, Cedric, Natalya (which is crazy), Apollo, LA Knight (just not giving him his flowers), Balor, Pete Dunne, Corbin, Naomi, Justin Gabriel and more
Wrestling wise sure but bro was a amazing at promos and I can’t necessarily rank shield members they’re styles of wrestling, promo work, and overall aesthetic are nothing alike so there’s nothing to compare
Always thought Ambrose was overrated, he was decent in WWE, but AEW pretty much exposed why WWE never pushed him the same way they did Roman and Seth. Plus he never came across as a top guy in interviews
Hit Row got fumbled really badly, they were very promising in nxt but when swerve got released they lost their most valuable asset and none of the members have really been the same since. Sure their in ring performance isn’t the best but I also feel like they never really got a lot of chances to shine on the main roster
I can’t help but feel like WWE could’ve done more with Matt Cardona. The Zack Ryder character was over, they gave him that Internet Championship belt to strut around with. I just can’t help but to wonder what would’ve happened if they seriously pushed him.
@@darkneon5637 it's crazy how vince gave the win to HHH and not Ambrose... WM 32, roman vs dean would have been crazy good. Could have even added seth into the mix (if he wasn't injured, i dont recall if he was healthy during this time).
@@carloscraigito7384 And also Dean was the IC Champion during the match he could be the second ever wrestler to held the WWE Champion and IC title at the exact same night
I think some of WWE's biggest fumbles are The Fiend, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dijak, Ricochet, Zack Ryder, Mojo Rawley, Keith Lee, Finn Balor, Wade Barrett, Aleister Black, and Dolph Ziggler. BUT! Their biggest absolute fumble of all time, and they will likely never have a fumble this bad ever again, is Cesaro. He was misutilized from day one till the end. He should have been world champion right after winning Andre Memorial BR, after WM30. by now, at least 5 time world champion. Vince f*cked him over so bad.
One that I feel like was grossly misused was Kane about a year after his debut (was so over, they then gave him the title by having the terrifying guy knocked out for one day) . Basically, he was left as an upper mid carder for ovwr a decade for no reason.
i’d like to add Mercedes Moné to the list. I think the work she put in outside of the wwe in ring wise has been amazing, I do feel like they both benefited each other as wwe worked with her on her promo skills and she put on great matches
I agree with Dijack. Back in the day, him and keith lee's feud in NXT was phenomenal and both of them were AMAZING wrestlers. Oh, keith lee was a double champ in NXT and did nothing on the main roster so he indeed was also fumbled
Honestly I think the reason this happens with Vince is bc he was so stubborn with anyone he didn’t discover himself and got popular in nxt what a jerk lol
The fact that there are so many superstars that been fumbled by Vince. And Triple H only fumbled at least one (Unfortunate) superstar. Really says alot...
Triple H really knows how to use NXT Top stars, like what he does currently with call-ups like Lyra Valkyria,Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes, that's why what happened with Dijak (especially because Dijak is soo talented) is very shocking
Triple H definitely fumbled more than one wrestler, guys like Jinder Mahal, Cameron Grimes, Elias, Rick Boogs, Madcap Moss, Lacey Evans, those are some people that could've been used way better even if they had some weaknesses. Vince fumbled a lot of guys to don't get me wrong, but Triple H has also made a lot of missteps. Even guys employed still like Shinsuke Nakamura, Karrion Kross, and Pretty Deadly haven't been used great at all on the main roster, despite being very talented
I know i’m a bit late to this video, but Buddy Murphy (Buddy Matthews) will always be the most shocking release for me. The guy has EVERYTHING and he’s still not being utilised properly in AEW.
19:44 why didn’t we have the Undisputed Era in WWE on the Main Roster ? Because we you see that Undisputed Kingdom is a failed and I personally consider The Undisputed Kingdom as The 3rd Worst Wrestling faction ever with Retribution as number 2 and The Dungeon of Doom in WCW as Number 1.
Braun Strowman was PEAKING in 2017. The problem is Vince McMahon hated the fans for not cheering Roman so he was borderline sabotaging the product. Elimination Chamber 2018’s booking is absolutely ridiculous looking back 💀💀
Video idea: number…I don’t have a clue. Every NXT superstars male and females chances of winning a world title on the main roster. /Bet the house. All the way down to no chance In hell.
I’ll give a shoutout to the iiconics had so much potential as a pillar of the tag team division and were never really give an opportunity to get there character work over
What about Robert roode? Wasn’t he a main event guy in TNA, go to WWE, was over in NXT, goes to main roster, and just straight up dissolved. Seriously what happened here
I watch WWE since 2015, and the ones I saw that it was soo easy to turn into a star that WWE fumble are almost the entire main event/mid card of NXT black and gold era, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler and Strowman
19:00 Dean is what jey is right now except jay gets treated like main event talent kinda They didnt give dean a chance Made him a silly character when his lunatic fringe gimmick was already pretty good
EC3 was another one I feel like they fumbled. I first saw EC3 in TNA in 2014. I knew he was destined to be a top guy he had the mic skills, wrestling skill, good character could play both heel and Face When I saw that he signed to WWE and he showed up in NXT I just knew they were gonna give him a great push man was I wrong.

Christian is a 2x world champion
You forgot the Ascension
@@SuperSaiyanBroku True, but both reigns were very forgettable. First one lasted literally just two days and the second run lasted just barely a month. While his rivalry with Randy Orton was undeniably, he was made to look completely weak by always coming up short compared to Orton.
this feels like a comprehensive list of their biggest misses
I thought I was the only one who was a very big ember moon fan haha.
Hideo Itami, Swerve, Deonna Purrazzo, Mickie James (return), Dana Brooke, and Harper, Kushida, (imo) Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder, EC3, The IIconics, Ember Moon, GAIL KIM, and more
Current that come to mind: The Good Brothers, Nakamura, Mis Yim, Cedric, Natalya (which is crazy), Apollo, LA Knight (just not giving him his flowers), Balor, Pete Dunne, Corbin, Naomi, Justin Gabriel and more
Day 36 of asking Santi to start training to wrestle to settle his beef with Dijak in a WWE ring
Have you watched the monthly q&a video? He actually talked about wanting to get in the ring at least once
@@jessysherwood1870 I’ve missed a few actually so I don’t know if he answered this or not
4:55 That guy looks like LA Knight cosplayer
Dijak lacked a good gimmick. Retribution coulda been good if they didn't straight up book that group like garbage.
TBH Ambrose is the least good member of the Shield. WWE has proven recently that they no longer really need him now.
He was the first wrestlers to win the top 3 titles in each wrestling business
Wrestling wise sure but bro was a amazing at promos and I can’t necessarily rank shield members they’re styles of wrestling, promo work, and overall aesthetic are nothing alike so there’s nothing to compare
This isn't true at all. For the longest time he was arguably the best member. Look at his early aew stuff for a great example.
@cerebralassassin2185 well he isn't the best anymore. Roman and seth are levels above him now. Ambrose peaked early.
I know he's a commentator now but Wade Barrett HAS to be one. Was so over at one point...
Santi mentioned a lot of big star that WWE fumbled except the biggest one of all that is swerve strickland
santi making deadpool jokes for the first time... looks like he is a good marvel fan too
I mean obliviously the Zack Ryder
i love santi shitting on vince, i couldn’t agree more about the booking from 2008-2021
I can’t help but feel like WWE could’ve done more with Matt Cardona. The Zack Ryder character was over, they gave him that Internet Championship belt to strut around with. I just can’t help but to wonder what would’ve happened if they seriously pushed him.
Dean Ambrose hit his peak in 2016 and it all went downhill from there, meanwhile Seth and Roman only got pushed harder up the card. It’s a true shame.
It's a shame how he never won the 2016 Royal Rumble
@@darkneon5637 it's crazy how vince gave the win to HHH and not Ambrose... WM 32, roman vs dean would have been crazy good. Could have even added seth into the mix (if he wasn't injured, i dont recall if he was healthy during this time).
@@carloscraigito7384 And also Dean was the IC Champion during the match he could be the second ever wrestler to held the WWE Champion and IC title at the exact same night
You forgot Nicholas
Huge fan man keep it up!!
I remember when Alex riley was the mizs lacky and the streets said he had a great theme song
You are my favorite wrestling TH-camr.
We need the same energy as the "We Want Cody" Movement for Dijak
Can we get a we want dijak movement
Day 6 of asking Santee to guest wrestlers by there forehead
Day 76 of asking you to rank every superstar based off of pure in ring ability
Vader comes to mind. He was a big deal everywhere else, but when got to WWE they didn't know how to use him.
im still mad that alex riley never became champion and also shelton benjamin should've been world champion
Buddy Matthews was such a good wrestler and his cruiserweight title reign was my favorite and he was one of the best thing to come out of 205 live
John Morrison and MVP were criminally underutilized.
Excuse me if i don't cry for Dean Ambrose. Stone Cold flatlined his carrer.
Ambrose is overrated
New episode suggestions. Wrestler who actually works in Vince McMahon era
They fumble the ball with DIJAK right now
I would love to see him be the leader of The Judgement Day
@@darkneon5637 judgment day don't want no leader why you think edge got kick out of the group
@@Devondavis-fm2dz I mean yeah you're kind of right but just imagine if he was
@@darkneon5637 it would been dope
One that I feel like was grossly misused was Kane about a year after his debut (was so over, they then gave him the title by having the terrifying guy knocked out for one day) . Basically, he was left as an upper mid carder for ovwr a decade for no reason.
The WWE needs another show like Raw or SmackDown for these NXT call-ups who need more time on Raw, and SmackDown can go on that show.
the fact that oddesey jones is still in the company is crazy
Ember moon is one of the biggest examples of this, so much talent and potential and they had no vision for her
Only so many spots at the top
i’d like to add Mercedes Moné to the list.
Honestly I think the reason this happens with Vince is bc he was so stubborn with anyone he didn’t discover himself and got popular in nxt what a jerk lol
santis dijak rant really reminds me of the you have no Idea how good tim duncan was meme
Maruro Ranallo is actually my favorite commentator of all time, I was so upset when he left, and furious when I found out why he left 😢
I heard far cry 5 and immediately started singing only youuuuuuu
I know i’m a bit late to this video, but Buddy Murphy (Buddy Matthews) will always be the most shocking release for me. The guy has EVERYTHING and he’s still not being utilised properly in AEW.
To be fair to the WWE they aren't the only company to miss use talent just think of Undertaker and Stone Cold in WCW.
Its annoying when people act like it's never happened in any other company ever
19:44 why didn’t we have the Undisputed Era in WWE on the Main Roster ? Because we you see that Undisputed Kingdom is a failed and I personally consider The Undisputed Kingdom as The 3rd Worst Wrestling faction ever with Retribution as number 2 and The Dungeon of Doom in WCW as Number 1.
They fumbled the potential of Dijak vs Keith Lee. FIGHT FOREVER. Those two together could feed generations with their 5* matches.
Christian is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Best theme song of all time too
I’ll give a shoutout to the iiconics had so much potential as a pillar of the tag team division and were never really give an opportunity to get there character work over
i have herd that john cena did not like alex riliy and which was the reason for alex's push going down. could be wrong tho
Santi, I am mad that you didn't include Dolph Ziggler. He was possibly the biggest fumble that they had.
Ember Moon is another name I'd add on this list
Who 🤨
What about Robert roode?
Wasn’t he a main event guy in TNA, go to WWE, was over in NXT, goes to main roster, and just straight up dissolved.
Seriously what happened here
The fact that none of the undisputed era even sniffed the main roster. Travesty
I watch WWE since 2015, and the ones I saw that it was soo easy to turn into a star that WWE fumble are almost the entire main event/mid card of NXT black and gold era, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler and Strowman
19:00
Dean is what jey is right now except jay gets treated like main event talent kinda
They didnt give dean a chance
Made him a silly character when his lunatic fringe gimmick was already pretty good
mauro ronallo was so damn good in 2016 smackdown and nxt black & gold 😮💨😮💨
A wrestling content machine 🔥
Samoa Joe and Alex Riley were FUMBLED to me
Bro that pic of Alex Riley looks like la knight if he was 20 years younger and without a beard
Day 105 of asking for santi's top 10 tag teams of all time
