    My "everyday driver" is this Charger SRT and its by far the fastest, coolest and most fun car I've ever owned. What they don't tell you in the video is that it also has a 900 watt 19 speaker Harmon Kardon sound system and a very good touch screen system. Also when sport or track mode is engaged the whole car stiffens up and the revs hang higher, basically it turns into a race car. When I am bored I take it out and do 0-60 pulls with the timers it has, and oh yeah, I've also gotten 30 MPG on highway in ECO (4cyl) mode. The car does EVERYTHING!! For the money it cannot be beat.

    • @MaliciousSRT

      R. C.P
      It has its faults, #1 the sub is so powerful that it rattles the deck under bass in most SRT's and requires stuffing padding under there to stop it. Also, unless you're listening to a CD or 320mbps digital music it doesn't sound the greatest. Lots of people leave the deck rattle and blare the radio, so they think its shit.
      Oh well.

    • @MaliciousSRT
      @MaliciousSRT 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LOL no, I only listen to 320mbps music so its fine. Any other cars audio system now sounds like crap to me - so the Harmon Kardon system must be ok!

      +Axxdrian Enciso I totally agree, the 11-14 MY Chargers looked angry (albeit not as angry and big as the 06-10 MY) but I can say that the 15-16 MY cars have found a sweet spot between sporty, angry, sleek and appealing. In pictures I was like MEH but once you see them in person you can appreciate the more rounded corners all around.

      SteveRunciman I don't know where it was designed, but I can only guess it was designed in Auburn Hills, Michigan which is where their headquarters was at the time this car was designed. Their headquarters is moving to the UK now, so their future vehicles probably won't be designed in the U.S. either. Kinda messed up considering the american people saved their ass from bankruptcy.

    • @mpsangha
      @mpsangha 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HDaviator You sound really clueless. All Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep cars were and will be designed and engineered in Auburn HIlls, Michigan. The Chrysler Headquarters is the second largest complex in the US behind the Pentagon, over 15000 AMERICAN engineers work there including my sister and father. And that headquarter you're talking about moving to the UK is the Fiat headquarters that's now in Amsterdam, Chrysler headquarters will remain in the US with US jobs, it's such a big asset. The funny thing is, American engineers inject their know how and DNA into Italian platforms, but not vice versa. You don't just move 15000+ employees like that to the UK and leave such a big asset, it would be the stupidest known business decision in known history. Do you think anyone besides Americans could design and engineer a car this bold? Exactly, so educate yourself before you make these ridiculous comments.

    Have an 2014 SRT8 charger in white w black roof!!! It looks sexyyyy!! Is all i can say , upgraded to 11” rear wheels w 315 tires nd 275 9,1/2 front tires!! Car is on rails now on high speeds!! Big difference in handling and take off as well hooks 50% more !! I am thinking of deleting the MDS system as that will give me longer lifter life on the engine!! And also thinking on upgrading to a SPC w may b 8-10 psi boost , after i will change its pistons so that it will handle that 10 psi boost ! Nd then i can say it will be in that HELLCAT territory💪🏼👍🏼, its a comfortable BIG and safe tank that flies good to 200 MPH top speed !!

    I love the srt charger. I drove a used 2012 super bee with 5k miles on it about a month ago, loved it- except for one thing. I went on a road that wasn't perfectly flat and on a couple of the bumps (not potholes, just bumps) I heard the front bumper touching the road..and I was only going about 40 mph. (speed limit 35 I believe). I don't know if the car had aftermarket suspension or something (don't think so) but yeah. Also drove a used 2012 srt cherokee, loved it too!

    • @Matt-sf4hi
      @Matt-sf4hi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelmclachlan1650 So? Just because they are 2 door cars doesn’t mean they aren’t close to a Charger. They are all V8 muscle cars at the root, but Chevy and Ford went a different route and made there cars more sporty looking which is cool to most people, but I prefer a more muscular look which is why I like Chargers. A ScatPack/392 Challenger would be more comparable to a SS or a GT, but the Charger is surprisingly just as fast as the Challenger’s so in my opinion it’s also comparable. Nothing wrong with having 4 doors either, it’s actually very beneficial if you drive around with people.

    • @michaelmclachlan1650
      @michaelmclachlan1650 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Matt-sf4hi Chrysler pulled out manufacturing in Australia many years ago, they currently sell just the 300C and SRT from the North American range, Dodge came and went. There would be very few who would recognise a current Charger if they saw one on the street. There was a two-door Valiant Charger available in the '70's, I believe it was unique to Australia.
      Anyway you're happy with what you've got so drive and enjoy. Cheers.

    Sucks that the cops have to use this car..kind of ruins it. Whenever I see one of these on the road everyone starts slowing down because they think your an undercover cop. While that has its benefits (no one will fuck with you) it has huge draw backs (people in front of you always going the speed limit, more difficult to merge into other lanes on the highway because people are too afraid to pass you)

You also can't please everyone, Dodge did it right with their interiors, not going for crazy Mercedes-like designs, that's not the main reason why people are buying these cars. @EverydayDriver  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good thought. But the new CTS-V isn't out yet, and the current one is around $70k so it would be out of this consideration for the same reasons as the Chrysler 300. While there are definitely similarities, at that price it's nearly a different class of vehicle. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

    • @vernonprice5986
      @vernonprice5986 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      EverydayDriver True the current one is the sort of last-gen model starting in 2009, but you can still buy new ones as of now, and they start at $64k.
      There is almost a $10k difference between the Chevy SS and the SRT8 as tested in this video, and there is only a $9k difference between the CTS-V and the SRT8 as tested.
      I realize that's still a pretty wide gap from end to end, but it's still in the same ballpark, and the CTS-V is the same class of car. Except, you know, faster and better handling. And comes with a manual. And as a wagon. You know you like that.
      You guys are still the best on the web regardless, I just figured the CTS-V was a shoe-in for this kind of comparison.

    • @EverydayDriver
      @EverydayDriver  10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Vernon Price Under the "Everyday Driver" banner we try to stay with cars that can be bought for the $50k range, or less. Sometimes we might blur it a little if the base price is in the 50s and as-tested is in low 60s, but once the car is mid-60s to start, it's hard for us to justify it with a "Everyday Driver" review, and it becomes an "Exotic Driver" piece.
      As a result, we'd rather put the CTS-V against some AMG or M5... which, now that we think about it would be a smokey good time, but not very "Everyday" ;-) We appreciate your further thoughts!

    Love this Dodge Charger! I'm looking at possibly renting one (none SRT) for two weeks in California. As I'm from England and I'm only visiting, I can't wait to experience some form of muscle car. I know it isn't the SRT8 but it makes a change from the comparatively small cars with low capacity engines that most over here drive!

    For I got tired of " Is that a Malibu or Is that an Impala? " the tires were terrible. IE: adding air weekly and fixing flats. Nice roomy family driver but does not stack up to my Challenger SRT.

    I find that this comparo completely lacks any comparison. You might as well just call it a first drive for the SRT, because other than a few shots of the SS, you didn't compare them at all. Instead, we have to break traction and watch part 2. Should just be one video.
