_Dynasty: the Reunion_ proved that the ninth season was not as bad as this franchise could have gotten. No wonder Aaron Spelling and John Forsythe did not want to do it. It had its glimmers of hope, but it just lacked the flare that the original seasons had. This and _Dallas_ did not belong in the 1990's at all. Lux and glamour were not what the '90s were, unless you were a daytime soap opera, and even they began to lose their glamour.
Krystina was calling Jeff "Uncle" when he was her brother In Law. Before the kids came in and it was Fallon , Miles and Jeff in the beach house it looked like an episode from The Colbys. Same feel exactly. Maxwells abs stole the entire scene. Season 9 of Dynasty gave some wrap ups to The Colbys Cliffhangers like Franky being alive yet here in The Reunion they couldnt be bothered to have Miles say what happened to his child with Channing, which had he or she been born would have been 3 year old now.
What we know happen in between the final of season 9 and This movie: 1)Kristina and Fallon had been dig out with the art collection 2)Jeff and Fallon remary for the third time and they flew to L.A. with Kristina, L.B. and Laurence 3)Sammy Jo lost Delta Rho, because a bad transaction happen 4)Blake survive the shot but had go to prison 5)Sammy Jo let go the priest. 6)Alexis survive the fall but probably Dex is Dead. NitPick: They don't fall from the ramp of the Carrington Mansion but the Carlton Hotel. 7)Somewhat sometime Sable or Jason had suceed to take Colbyco from Alexis and rename Colbys Enterprise

Had Sable and Dex been in this along with Amanda , Dominique and Dana and Adam (played by Gordon Thomson) getting back together getting Adams son back (maybe aged a bit) and Sammy Jo being how she was in season 9, no Miles, no James Bond themed story, ColbyCo and Denver Carrington still around (alexis being shown in Colby Enterprises is still never been explained nor will producers or writers comment on it) and just a resolve of basic stories that were around the past 3 years of the series would have been fine. This thing was beyond a turd and it miffs me how Aaron Spelling would let his name be attatched to it. Oh yeag Jason Colby and Francesca dropping in to visit Jeff and his kids would have been great. We know Franky was still alive as Jeff mentioned it in season 9.

I didn't appreciate this show as a kid when my mother was watching it every week, I do now as an adult, I can't accurately review this reunion since I wasn't really paying attention back then all I remember is that Alexis had alot of run-ins with Krystal over Blake. Alexis was always my favorite though I always thought she was a very attractive & charming woman like I woulda wanted to date her she seemed like the total package of smarts & sexiness there was no situation she couldn't get out of. I never really knew why Blake liked Krystal soo much but now watching this reunion and going back and watching a few episodes I see now that Alexis was a very cold hearted scorned woman & ex-wife. I suppose for however long they were married & the fact that she gave him all those kids however many there were. Plus she always referred to Krystal as this cow, Krystal in my opinion was not a busty woman, she was just a little taller & a little heavier than Alexis but not much, matter of fact that Arlen insulted his ex-wife telling her she was too skinny and flat none of the women on this show were really that built, they were all fairly petite women

This reunion was a disgrace to this once great show.. The STars all hated the script.. The continuity of the show along with the totally unfamiliar Carrington Mansion interiors ruined whatever fans expected of the reunion show. They could have rebuilt the familiar interior of the mansion or use Filoli interiors like they did for the Original Pilot episode in January 1981. The producers couldn’t even get the Exterior shot of ColbyCo right. They used the exterior shot of Colby Enterprises in California, from “The Colbys”. I know that Joan Collins hated the reunion show and had expressed her dislike, several times when interviewed about The Original “Dynasty”. lol I know that she refuses to even watch, let alone talk about the series reboot.. lol 😂. I’m glad they got the original Steven to reprise his role but too bad they couldn’t get Gordon Thompson to play Adam or Stephanie Beacham to play Sable.. I guess it’s true when they say that “you can’t go back”..
Saxon C - The only problem with Steven was that he had undergone extensive plastic surgery after the rig explosion, thus explaining his changed appearance when Jack Coleman took over the role. A reverse surgery perhaps? Total disregard for continuity here. We assume the interior sets were dismantled when the show was canceled, however, it wouldn’t have cost much to build a replica of one or two of the rooms like the living room and conservatory. Did the Filoli house remodel its interior after the pilot? If not, the could have filmed in the very rooms the shows sets were based on. Overall, this reunion was a mess, akin to the last few seasons. I think ABC felt it owed angry fans some closure after the abrupt cancellation left characters and storylines unresolved and hanging.

The producers couldn’t even get the Exterior shot of ColbyCo right. They used the exterior shot of Colby Enterprises in California, from “The Colbys”. I know that Joan Collins hated the reunion show and had expressed her dislike, several times when interviewed about The Original “Dynasty”. lol I know that she refuses to even watch, let alone talk about the series reboot.. lol 😂. I’m glad they got the original Steven to reprise his role but too bad they couldn’t get Gordon Thompson to play Adam or Stephanie Beacham to play Sable.. I guess it’s true when they say that “you can’t go back”..
Saxon C - The only problem with Steven was that he had undergone extensive plastic surgery after the rig explosion, thus explaining his changed appearance when Jack Coleman took over the role. A reverse surgery perhaps? Total disregard for continuity here. We assume the interior sets were dismantled when the show was canceled, however, it wouldn’t have cost much to build a replica of one or two of the rooms like the living room and conservatory. Did the Filoli house remodel its interior after the pilot? If not, the could have filmed in the very rooms the shows sets were based on. Overall, this reunion was a mess, akin to the last few seasons. I think ABC felt it owed angry fans some closure after the abrupt cancellation left characters and storylines unresolved and hanging.
@@redletter2008 I think Gordon was on Santa Barbara at the time. I'm not sure why they didn't get Stephanie for this. They should've gotten Catherine Oxenberg and Diahnn Carroll, too.

@ They have just repeated all the series in the UK and I became hooked on it. She was my favourite character. I think she could have revived the show if she had been in this reunion and the script had been good.

@ I think the actors they got were the only ones they could get! Aside from Forsythe/Evans/Collins/James (and possibly Samms) who were pretty much indispensible the rest could have been interchanged with any past actors!

@@jlewis9043 no. SAble and Alexis were firest cousins meaning thier childeren were second cousins. Francesca was SAbles sister and jeff was her son so yeah it all tied in but was overlooked. Writing should have been better having Sable and Alexis NOT cousins would have solved this.
