The Answer is 42 is a simple, minimalist mathematics puzzler where your only goal is to draw a path through numbers so they total to (you guessed it) 42. It's simple dude, just make them be 42, I don't know why you're being so weird about it.

NL has two moods:
"I'm the absolute greatest gamer of all time, I am literally gaming personified, you cannot compete with me WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, I AM."
"This is literally impossible you're asking me to do something that it just can't be done there was nothing I could do, dude. What do you want me to do??? I'm doing the same thing over and over again WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO???"
These are the same mood though, aren't they? He's literally the greatest gamer who's ever lived, so if he can't do it, it can't be done.
And the second mood is often accompanied by constantly retrying the same solution over and over :P

While Level 12 was a straight-forward level that NL just got stuck on, Level 20 is bizarrely designed. There's an easy 42, with no clear indication of why it's not a valid answer. A notice like "use them all", or "use X minimum" would help that.

really big fan of the aesthetic of this game - reminds me of something like tetris effect with a lot of good atmosphere and satisfying audio feedback. in a weird way the way the numbers are laid out also reminds me of an old mobile game called "rymdkapsel" but maybe it's just the space and bright colors. thanks for the company!

this reminds me of a game called LYNE but instead of numbers guiding where you need to go, the colors themselves guide you where you need to go. with this game, there's tricks like multiple touches to a square to get to 42; in LYNE it's just multiple touches to a "hub" that has to hold a certain amount of connections to it. If you enjoy these styles of line connecting puzzle games, cannot recc LYNE enough

Your brain is fascinating.
About half way through the video, so not sure if the egg figures this out, but starting by hitting all of the numbers and seeing what amount you need to hit twice (or more) really helps.

I always feel so stupid watching NL play this kind of games, and other streamers playing sudoku etc. They are so damn fast... even if they make mistakes, I wouldnt dare to match that speed alone, much less while having my mind on giving a show.

And NL, in his infinite wisdom, tries to combine -9 and 32 several times before concluding that it's simply impossible to sovle the level!

Not really a fan of games like that, but let's be honest: We probably will watch you solve crossworld puzzles when you stream out of your retirement home in the future. "On todays NLSS, we solve crossword puzzles and our guest is Nurse Johnson." And then you tell the Nurse all about the time you fought in the Warzone.

My only disappointment with this video is that you didn't go to puzzle 42, then it would have been just right.

You did way better on this than I would have done. I've been trying to make a more active attempt to comment along with the like, sometimes though it's hard to find something that seems important/relevant.

i’m not saying i’m smarter than nl by any means, he did this a lot faster than i would have. but on level 19 i was screaming -3 the entire time and i about lost my voice
Shame that this isn't on Apple Arcade or at least iOS. I can't see myself playing it on PC, but I'd definitely play it as a mobile game.
Million dollar idea, get data from all easy the puzzle games NL cant solve. Make a new puzzle game, based on that data and let NL review it. Everyone will either die watching or buy the game themselves. ^^

If there are more than 42 levels, I'd be highly disappointed.
NL couldn't do basic maths and so instead opted to tell a 'fun' maths fact instead

What does 'resin' mean? He said it during yacht dice as well.
I believe it's a reference to Dark Souls. Resin is an item that you can apply to your weapon to add (I think) a lightning effect. It makes combat much easier for a short time; and is considered by many to be an overpowered game mechanic.
The above answer is exactly right! As further context, friend of the channel and Big Brother winner Dan Gheesling refuses to use resin in Dark Souls and as such it has become the Greater NLSS' word for anything in any game that makes the game too easy.
