    • @Xirpzy
      @Xirpzy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There is no "too high". If its comfortable for him its good. I have seen some pros move the mouse within 5cm and reach the entire screen.

    • @ddp9381
      @ddp9381 4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Xirpzy generally, yeah. but if you’re moving it a certain distance and overshooting, it indicates that your brain actually thinks that the distance you moved the mouse should account for less movement on screen. therefore, in that situation you should lower your sensitivity. ideally, your flicks should land roughly where you expect them to, because your brain is used to how much mouse movement accounts for how much movement on screen.

    • @Mr1machine1

    lower your mouse sensitivity to AT MOST a 360 from one side to the other of the mousepad and you'll instantly get a hell of a lot better. ideally a 180 from one side to the other would be best, but it's hard to jump straight to that if you're not used to moving your arm

    • @someoneone3933
      @someoneone3933 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'd generally agree for games like cs but 180 from side of the mouse pad(if its a big mouse pad) to the other in a game like warzone would probably limit him.

    • @someoneone3933
      @someoneone3933 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@keithbrown2711 Yep, outliers are always present and for some it may work for others not. Playing on 180 sens in a dynamic game with 360 based gameplay requires you to be more aware of positioning which newer players or non-fps focused players may not have.

    • @leomar8577
      @leomar8577 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey NL, i suggest you get 144Hz screen if you don't have one. You're wanting to get better at shooters, and LinusTechTips found that a faster refresh rate objectively helps even the pros be better at shooters, and the further you are from pro, the bigger the boost. I'm pretty sure Apollo has one (or at least he tweeted about his). Keep up the great videos, and stay safe! 😄
    Edit: of course ignore the suggestion if you already have one, a quick Google search didn't suggest you'd mentioned one though. 😉

  • @randomdudeman4782
    @randomdudeman4782 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sup Egg. You really do need to get your sens and FOV exactly the same as they're in game, or you're practicing the wrong sens, and you will actually do worse in game. Other than that, I really like seeing this change in attitude and a focus on learning and improving. I think it's great - keep it up. You don't need to do anything extraordinary to improve - you simply need to take the time to do things like this regularly and improvement will come over time.
    As far as sensitivities go - if you want to use mainly your wrist, 15-25cm/360 is generally where it's at, though you will need to use at least a little bit of arm past 20cm. If you want to use mainly your arm, 40-70cm/360 or even more is going to be good. Anything in between that range, and you're looking at using a mix of wrist and arm. Make sure that your arms are symmetrical on your desk so you don't torque your spine, that you're seated in such a way that you can get up at any moment's notice (i.e. you're rooted to the ground), and keep your back straight and shoulders pointed outwards. Elbows should be at around 90 degrees and wrists should be in line with the arm or bent downwards very slightly. Also don't push the base of your wrist into the mousepad as that will make doing arm movements harder and limit the range of motion in your wrist. However temporarily basing your wrist while doing very fine wrist aiming is fine.
    [Edit] Oh, and relaxation is key. If you tense up, you forfeit any fine control you might have had - so look very closely at what muscle groups you're tensing up while aiming, and figure out ways you can relax them.
    If you keep this up you'll be very good at shooters guaranteed.

    Step aside Apollo, NorthMillion is here.
    People say you have a high sens, which you do, but if you've played like that for a long time, it's probably not worth changing.
    That said, a common rule of thumb for sens is from the middle of the mouse pad to near the edge should be about 180°. The reasoning is you don't need to turn more than 180°, and you don't need to convert settings between games, you can just eyeball it and get used to it pretty quickly.
    I can't wait to see those double digit kill warzone games.

    8:30 If you're trying to hold on to a moving target in a 1st person shooter game, for example using a machine gun at an enemy that's moving, I find it to be a lot easier to move the mouse from the elbow/shoulder instead of the wrist. But when I'm flicking, for example when using a semi automatic, I practically only use the wrist.
