    I am in a phase that I decided to use only white towels in the bathroom. It reminds me of a hotel and gives a freshness to the place. I even bought them from a hotel supplier to assure the good quality and low price. The way you organize the space is fantastic. Congratulations!

    I am not at all surprised that your upgrade turned out perfect. Your have excellent taste. I really enjoy seeing your home. When you said that in the summer you plan on sanding down the orange toned cabinets, I was happy to hear it. I have always disliked orangey toned wood. I painted over that color wood paneling in a house where I once lived. It was a big change for the better. I never heard of a magnetic soap holder. I am interested. Currently I use plastic containers of liquid soap on my bathroom sink. I feel guilty because I am using plastic which is not good for the environment. I have already planned on making the switch back to bar soap, but was not looking forward the the mess that goes with it. I am going to look into the set up you have in your sink.

    I also have IBS and just took a class by a dietitian with the condition. Really insightful but disappointed to know they still don’t have better solutions! I use a bamboo Squatty Potty that is adjustable since I don’t live alone and figure my housemates might also want to use it.

    • @BenitaLarsson
      @BenitaLarsson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve also seen a dietitian but all she could say was that I needed to figure out for myself what I could eat and not 🙄

    • @amandah3205
      @amandah3205 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BenitaLarsson each IBS person has their own intolerances but the basic starting points are initially cut out cruciferous/sulphur rich veggies, cut nightshades (start reintroducing with potatoes first as least reactive normally), easier to digest protein (meats and dairy(trigger for some) vs nuts... cook slowly like in broth for better digestion)... Food diary is a huge help
      Lower fiber, lower oxalates (not large amounts at a time some cannot tolerate at all), warm water vs cold, ensure stomach acid high enough for protein digestion. Have poo evaluated for enzymes and bile production, take appropriate enzyme/boost bile for food digestion,
      Some have issues with specific fruits and others only have issues if a certain amount of fructose is consumed in excess. (Each person has their own limit). Coffee, peanuts, dairy, and cocoa are other frequent offenders but some only tolerate turkey, wild caught fish, and raw cheese while others cannot tolerate any fish, dairy, or fowl and have to do lamb, venison, and beef only. That was likely why the dietician didn't even try.

    Hi Benita, thank you for another calming video - much appreciated at this busy time of year! I love those German soap holders, I saw them all over the place when I used to live in Germany years ago. We have visited more recently, but I was never able to find one (or maybe didn't look hard enough). I would definitely go back to bar soap if I had a holder like that. Our en suite bathroom is very small .. this video got me wondering what it would be like if we replaced the corner back with just a shower. Have a very Merry Christmas!

    We're in a rental, so I can't make many changes to the bathroom. Ours is an "interesting" shade of cream-pink which is very unsettling and hard to style. I chose charcoal for accents like the soap dish and toothbrush cup and the bath mats, which tones it down nicely. Still, such a weird colour to work with for the tiles and floors.

    I had IBS for 20 years. I also had a very ruddy complexion and blushed easily. These both turned out to be inflammation from having a serious gluten intolerance. I went gluten free with my son to help him with Autism. After two weeks very strictly gluten free, to my surprise, the IBS went away and has never come back. I also lost the red cheeks, and too much blushing. And my almost daily headaches went away, too. For good. This was 12 years ago. My son is much better, also. He has lost all his Autism mannerisms and odd behaviors. He graduated high school, has two jobs, learned to drive, and has a girlfriend.

      I know! The best! I’ve temporarily gone back to liquid soap because it does feel better in these 🦠 times. But as soon as this is over I’m bringing my bar soap holder out again!

    Benita, such a lovely bathroom. So bright and cheery. I love how you transformed it by removing the tub. The magnetic soap holder is amazing!

    Another shower person here, so I can perfectly appreciate your need to get that tube off your bathroom! Only I would probably avoid the glass and option for a cloth curtain, much easier to keep clean. As for the soap magnet, I saw it only once, in Athens, where we still have it, and I adored it! What are your new slippers, they seem made of wool? I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

    Love the new shower 😍🚿😍. How do you keep your bathroom dry? It doesn't have a window, do you have a good extraction fan in it? Our bathrooms are all in the centre of our apartment, so no natural light and they sometimes smell a little musty. We bought a dehumidifier last winter that we move around our home to help with the moisture.

      I usually get the same, the one recommended by my stylist for my hair and a refill bag with fragrance free liquid shower soap from the pharmacy. They each go in their pump bottle. I don’t usually keep extras, I get a new one when I’m about to run out.
