    30 sec is just enough to read the questions (because it is too long),no either to analyze it ,rather then to prepare the answer , all that make answer impossible, not because the level of the English but due to the difficulty of the mission. for me this is not a good strategy to evaluate someone . So for what is explained in this video is good as a theory but is not useful in the context of task 2

      agreed , the prep time celpip format gave us is too short for every speaking tasks. they should change the format otherwise less people will take this test.

    Thanks Aswathi and Brandi for a nice video. Iam posting a sample response for a personal experience. I would encourage people to review this and share their feedback.
    Sample response as below:
    I went to the central land, Toronto, Canada along with my family in late Jan 2023. It was a memorable event for me. We had been there to celebrate my birthday. Also, we had a wonderful time with our kids. In the morning, we reached a place named harbour front and took a water taxi to the central island. Then, we played frisbee with the kids on the island. In the afternoon we had a scrumptious lunch with bread and Cottage cheese curry. After that, we went to the farm to see runner ducks, beautiful peafowls, spirited ponies and mini pot belly pig. Later in the evening, we headed for the beach and enjoyed the beach during the sunset. We also noticed a boating camp on the island and there was a huge demand to rent the boats even though it was a bit pricey. Finally, we fed the hungry doves at the beach and felt very good about it. By the end of the day, the kids enjoyed a lot, but we had to wait a long time to catch the return ferry on our way back home. However, this did not spoil our day’s memories and wow, what a great day escape it was!

    Brandi keeps on saying Dont worry about the time...But its the TIME thats THE MOST IMP factor here..... Generating ideas is not a problem...but generating ideas in 30s IS a problem....

    • @CELPIPOfficial
      @CELPIPOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nidhi. In this lesson, we focus on how to take notes and then use these notes to guide the spoken responses that we'll deliver on the test. Time is very important on the test itself; in Speaking Task 2, all test takers will be given 30 seconds to think, and 60 seconds to speak. But when we first begin practicing for the CELPIP Speaking test at home, like we are in this episode, many people find it stressful to set a timer right away. For that reason, one strategy that is useful for some of us is to practice thinking of ideas first without setting a timer. Once we become more comfortable generating enough relevant ideas to answer the question we are practicing at home, then we can set the timer to make sure we can take useful notes in 30 seconds, just as we would on the test. As always, please use the strategy that works best for you; some people will prefer always using a timer at home to practice, and this is perfectly fine.
      -Brandi

    For the speaking sections of the CELPIP test, is reading and understanding the question included in the preparation time allocated for each section?

    • @CELPIPOfficial
      @CELPIPOfficial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, your Speaking preparation time includes the length of time it takes to read and understand the question and identify some main points you'll include in your answer. For this reason, it is advisable to practice and develop your ability to skim read so you can grasp important details quickly.

    what is going that I did the test twice at different provinces, I thought I prepared much better than the first time in my speaking, but the speaking result of the second time is not even higher than the first time. How come this can be possible after one year working?? I am totally confused.

    Hi Brandi, thanks for the video. I wanna ask if the topic is talking about a movie or a book. When I describe the characters or contents, can I use the simple present tense?

    • @CELPIPOfficial
      @CELPIPOfficial  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Use past tense to describe your personal experience since that action happened in the past and is complete. However, use present tense verbs to describe characters and story lines from movies and books since these characters continue to exist, even though they may be fictional.
