  • We have seen a lot of fast sport bikes at the motorcycle drag races and have become pretty educated on what to expect from each type of motorcycle. That’s why we were totally blown away when this Suzuki Katana hit top speed and dusted all our nitrous drag bikes. In this video we catch up with the rider of this custom Katana to see how and why it’s so fast and it may just have something to do with a GSXR1300 Hayabusa. We will also see some of the fastest two stroke drag bikes in the world, an old school KZ vs. a Suzuki GS, two fast ZX14R street bikes racing for the drag racing win, a big celebration by team Puerto Rico drag racing, “Rocket Rex” and the stories of his turbo 1986 Turbo GSXR 1000, a billet transmission repair in a 4.60 drag bike by the legend Paul “Fast by” Gast, an exciting Pro ET final, a multi time NHRA Summit Series champ and much more. Settle in and share with motorcycle drag racing or Suzuki Katana fan!

@@zachpaige12 Save yourself some headaches and loads of time by switching to a F.I. GSXR 750, 1000 just doesn't matter too much. They are more flexible IMHO to mod's. Unless you are a carb guru, the Katana (Yea I got 4 of em, 3 750's from 89,93,95 and a 2001 600 I use for canyon carving). And parts are more available for the gixxer's than the Katana's, especially before 96. And the gixxer's tend to hold their value more. Now if you wanna start swapping engine's and stuff like that the gixxer base is your best friend. Not knocking the Katana's Lord know I got enough of them, but as soon as they are all finished and sold off, I'm switching to the gixxer's.

@@anonimous2451 if you ever are looking at getting rid of the '95 katana 750, let me know. That was the base of the monster currently being born in several shops and at home. Mine is over-bore, with a lot of billet aluminum, bigger carbs, custom intake, magnesium wheels, etc. The project just sorta got away from me. It's gonna be fun tho (was already fun using the last engine that I melted. That was over bore to 800cc, but might have kept the rpm too high...

CycleDrag 94 katana 600 chasis with gen 2 bus’s motor on nitrous. My friend Joe holt and I put a gen 1 motor on it almost 15 years ago then got out of racing. Decided to get back into racing so we redid the bike last year with the gen 2 setup. Lots of 1 off parts. Has a busa back wheel which called for a custom swing arm built by Joes good friend Mike harsey out of Florida. All gen 2 harness, gauges and controls. Brock Davidson supplied the exhaust. Jeremy Teasley tuned it and actually road it before we got it ironed out and went 8.36 @ 169mph. I’m 220 pounds and best pass so far has been 8.60 164. I have tons of pics if you’re interested. My goal is to get the bike in the 7’s. Not with me on it of course😂
