I agree that reservations are not good but…. There are legit reasons. I don’t have much knowledge about other categories but if we’re talking about Northeast reservation system then, you need to know this. The Indian government the late 1950’s to 1960’s sent the Indian armies and Raped and murdered thousands of NE people. The Indian armies also destroyed their villages and towns because back then Majority of the NE region were not Indians. They were forced to become Indians. I’m sure majority of people don’t know about this because it’s not included in any NCERT books. By the way, Education only came around 1990’s in most of NE region so they are lacking behind in many ways. For example, Nagaland a state doesn’t even have a single Medical College till today. And they don’t follow NCERT books. This is the reason why Reservations were kept for NE people.
