I am a big fan of his work...but this is way too overly styled and to symmetrical for my taste! It looks like a Samurai helmet! It could use some more open spaces and rhythm. But he that is just me!😜😉 Thanks for posting! Cheers, Hans van Meer.
According to Wikipedia, the first guy who make Bonsai is in China, but after so many years, nowadays Chinese Penjing/Penzai is very different from the Japanese Bonsai

btw for anyone trying to copy this for their juniper bonsai they might have purchased then coming to this video to learn how to care for it DO NOT follow the exact potting medium he uses he is in a very humid zone and therefor the water retention in the medium is NOT needed for him but in some zones and temperate climates you will need water retaining soil especially for me here in los angeles CA this soil does NOT work for any juniper here
My bonsai is dieing, I believe I have a rock juniper.... anyways the pines on it have turned brown and I just repotted it. Is it too late for my tree to be saved? I am going to get it a light, I don’t believe it receives enough light... any tips or videos to save my tree???
Geez I forgot I posted this, I got banned for “hate speech”. Filed ALL the appeals and NOTHING. Three months later they unlock my account and say oops that was a mistake. No violations found 🙄 just have to pay the price of being a republican. Facebook locked me out too in Jan. Yayyyyy 🙄 In the two years, I’ve learned. I’m a farmer, but taking care of these little guys is nothing like we’ve ever planted and they are so sensitive! Oh well thanks friends.
First you said it is okay to prune 50% of the roots then you said you only prune 40% of the roots witch is it ? You need to show us noobs where 40% of the roots and how much is 1 to 1 to 1 for soil please show.
call me ignorant but these trees look like coiffed poodles to me and i liked them more before they had the treatment... :) still i would never give tumbsdown - who am i to belittle others peoples interests and tastes. cheers

I'm still waiting with patience and hope on my Jack pine Bonsai tree, to sprout. I've been keeping the soil moist, and in partial sunlight.
Jamal Vines i started planting it not long but a week ago. From a seed.
