nice video. I brought some big chunks of obsidian from a trip to Armenia years ago. found lots of it on the side of the mountain. subscribed to your channel. I found your channel more professional and informative about gemstones.

love this video-- my experience with obsidian comes from a metaphysical point of view, so it's nice to get the history behind it; I like obsidian for scrying, shadow work, absorption of negative energy/ protection, etc. and apache and/or snowflake OB offer great emotional support for those dealing with grief

Thank you for your information regarding obsidian. I didn't know it is considered a gem. Just an FYI, Glass Mountain in Oregon is open to the public to take all the obsidian wanted as long as mechanic means is not used.

I really like this lesson, could you tell us why the golden sheen happens, or rainbow? And isn't there a green obsidian from Mayan times, that they used for weapons?

I wonder why it's not allowed to be used on humans for surgery?

Hi Allan, great question. I am starting a new feature where I will be answering some questions like yours during the lessons. The short answer? Three letters: FDA. When I got back surgery over 15 years ago, the FDA had not yet approved the disc replacement surgery or the actual titanium disc that was installed in my back. My surgery was considered "Experimental" , despite the fact that they had been performing the very same procedure in Europe for 20-25 years prior.

    DO NOT juggle obsidian spheres!
Buy some cheaper acrylic ones. Trust me.
