Glad to hear you enjoyed them! I'm also very visual so it's my preferred method of learning as well. I'm happy to say that my drawing skills have improved a lot since this video. I'd love for you to check out some of my latest drawings here: backyardarchitect.com/p/garden-room-design
This channel will soon be the most popular and successful. Loved the video and the editing. Great job on the build. Office looks amazing. Charlie your energy reminds me of Robert Downey Jr when he was in weird science. That’s compliment!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey that turned out really nice. You did a good job and I like your design. It's a good idea for backyard offices and it would also make a good artist workspace or rehearsal studio or anywhere where someone wants some privacy.
Nicely done. Was happy to see some plywood going in to the interior as a feature wall. You didn't seem to touch on budget at all. And timeframe for the entire project. Was the client happy with how long it took?
I wish so badly I could afford to do something like this so my wife could have an office of her own. I don't have the skills to do it myself. Maybe one day you all will have availability in the states!
That's very sweet. I'm working on a new video tutorial that will walk you through a build like this step by step, so you'll be able to build it yourself. I'm also writing about the process now! You can see part 1 here: backyardarchitect.com/p/garden-room-design
Amazing design.. it looks really nice.. is it possible to buy the design? Im working on a budget to build something like this for my daughter.. I work with HvAc guys, carpenters and electricians.. they’re willing to help me on my project but I will like to have a design, blue prints in hands.. thank you.
Nice! I'm curious what the inside height of the walls are at the short and tall sides. It looked like the short side was only 7' at the most, which seems pretty good for a little office.
Yep! There is both exterior and interior insulation in this build. The interior insulation goes between the studs while the exterior insulation goes on the outside of the sheathing. The purpose of having both is that the interior insulation provides the bulk of the thermal resistance (fancy term for insulation), while the exterior insulation limits what's called thermal bridging. Thermal bridging is when heat has an easy path to escape. Without the exterior insulation heat would be able to easily leave through each of the studs since they provide a path of low thermal resistance to the outside. Adding the exterior insulation is like adding a wool coat on the outside of the building!
Awesome build ! I want similar for my need, tried heading to your website, however it looks the build of website is wip. Please advise on how can i contact you ? thank you !
An electrician did the electrical work. The owner of this unit decided to use a plug-in-wall solution for HVAC, however on a more recent build we've integrated a built-in heat pump.
Yes this was built in Toronto where winters get quite cold, which is why I ensured it was well insulated. The builds I've created since this project all have heat pumps to both heat and cool the space year round. With this project, the owner installed his own heater.
half the price is also less than half the quality. Further, said contractors generally have larger projects to deal with and won't provide a completely custom build to their client. I've personally worked with Charlie and his capabilities are unmatched in regard to creating a personal product
really cool overlapping technique for the modules! I actually clapped my hands in approval
Love to hear it!
I enjoy the visuals you drew and the explanations. I am a visual learner so i appreciate this video a lot!

Another successful project, great work Charlie!
Thanks Paul!
Just came across your video while looking for some ideas for something like this. That office turned out amazing. Very nice.
Those earth screws are super cool. I've never seen anything like them, but they might be the way I go with my shed. Thanks for sharing.

So nice!!! awesome work!
Oof. Would be cool to have a backyard gaming den. Great work!
Great video.. Can you do more videos on how you insulate the floor?
Great design, he should hire you to make a twin mini shed and ditch the little one.
We actually toyed with that idea originally, however the local zoning bylaws got in the way - always an important constraint in the design process!
How much did it cost and where did younorder from

This was very good when’s the next vid coming
Thanks Christian - sometime in August.
Who's that dude out in Texas? Great vid!
Who would have thought!
Are there plans for this one?

You're right! If I recall correctly it went from about 6'8" to 8'5". The local zoning bylaws governed this decision.
@@frisedesign Nice! And it's an 8x10 ish?
@@mkushin correct!
about how much did it cost to build
What was total cost?
bro come to florida lol..this is epic as fudge
i know you said you are only doing local builds , but let me know if you extend to anywhere near South Wales in the UK, because i need one :)
Try Herts Garden Rooms Joseph.
I’m a little confused. I saw insulating panels grey in color, then I saw pink insulation at the end.. are there 2 layers of insulation being used?

Did you do the electrical work? Does the unit have heat/air?

@@frisedesign beautiful work man, thanks for the quick reply!
Do you live in area where winter is tough? Does it handle weather okay?
Yes this was built in Toronto where winters get quite cold, which is why I ensured it was well insulated. The builds I've created since this project all have heat pumps to both heat and cool the space year round. With this project, the owner installed his own heater.
@@frisedesign thanks so much! Do you have a link to a heat pump you use or reccomend looking into?
@@ryanjcoon1 This is what I've used in the past senville.ca/9000-btu-mini-split-air-conditioner-sena-09hf/
Did you get a building permit?
No, a building permit wasn't required with the size that we built.
If the construction work dries up, he can easily slip into working as a model. Ha!
Always remember, drawings are based on the perspective.
And the perception is usually only real enough, in individual perspective of such environment!
Augers like that don’t work
I bet Jeff has zero guitar playing experience
Chinese contractors can easy build these backyard offices for customers half the price this guy is doing. Don't be scammed

@@GamingLlamma Not necessarily. It is those who set higher profit margins that are harming other buyers who are interested
Hey Charlie, kudos to you.
Just loved what you have accomplished on this project 📽
Let me know if you work outside the GTA. I'm in Innisfil 🤞
this builder is simply trying very hard not to have competition. greed.
