I want to build an outside bathroom. When my kids, family and friends use my pool, they’ve got to walk through the living room to get to the bathroom. I think something like this would be great.
Thanks Pete - I always enjoy that you strike the perfect balance in terms of length. Enough to be informative and to learn from - while still being entertaining. I do have to admit that I often watch twice because I find myself enjoying the beautiful scenery where you live.
Thanks so much man! I appreciate the feedback. I try to include the basics for people interested in the steps / process, and to edit out the unnecessary footage that would just add to the length. Thanks for watching, and glad the scenery is fun to watch for ya! Cheers!
I just bought myself a wooden shed for 1500 and figured I can make it into my own space 6x8 feet and just a small space for me. This video gives me lots of ideas to make it my own private space. Such a cool concept ! Every man needs a man cave lol. Wooden sheds can last 15-20 years too apparently.
I appreciate the detailed thought and explanation throughout (like natural lighting for video calls). I can’t wait to build my office shed! Thanks for posting.
Glad to see you put up more videos, and never tire of your background landscape. That peppercorn and mahogany stain color is amazing. Hope to see more videos and keep up the great work!
Love it! Just awesome. If it were my build, I would go with a larger bay window (non-opening, no obstruction of view). Then one small sliding window on the side wall for ventilation.
Hey Bob, thank you! Looking forward to following your project. Glad the video gave ya a few ideas! Here is a little larger building I did of a warming house that may give a few additional ideas as well if ya need any. th-cam.com/video/i-Hl10ogJTQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9y8XRuoFPJXxQdhv --- Have a great start to the new year and cheers from Montana! - Pete
Really nice! I’d like a version of that for a bee house. Bee boxes would be enclosed inside the shed and holes on the back wall for them to enter and leave.
Oh, man!!! Your super cozy and really tiny working shed is ABSOLUTELY mind-blowing and such a great job!!!! You've taken this goal perfectly, and, you've taken such a strong desicion to dive deep into it and lately jump out with an amazing result! Thank you for such a brilliant job, bro.Kudos for sure, and i'm your very brand new subscriber! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Cheers, Serge.
Amazing, well done Mr. Pete Thanks god i found you because i was thinking to build my own house and shed studio. I'm sure gonna learn a lot of things from you, thank you so much.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the project video! That is cool you are potentially looking at building something similar. Looking forward to hearing what you create! Cheers
Hey Pete, nice little office shed. I'm curious how the setup for the electical works in relation to that outdoor inlet. Is there the equivalent "female" outlet on the inside or did you direct wire it to a panel and set up outlets from the panel? Do you have a video showing both sides of the process?
I've suddenly remembered how Snoopy's doghouse had this cool underground level he used for throwing parties. Would be cool to see something like that on youtube
Wow this was an exciting and educational video. You did an excellent job of explaining the whole process, even though it was a little fast paced. I’m an electrician and hope to one day build my very own home. Going to binge watch your vids man. Great job! Don’t know what trade you did in your lifetime, but regardless it shows you know the process of how a building is built.
I need to build a studio shed in the middle of the wooded and rolling hills of my acreage of the WI Northwoods. Peace and tranquility to get back to business.
Be careful with using shingles on low pitch roofs they can leak if your pitch isn’t steep enough. This is more for someone watching as I don’t know what your roof pitch is. It just looked rather flat at the beginning and then it Looked fairly pitched toward the end. Nice build I’ve been thinking of building something like this.
He states at one point of the video that it's a 2/12 pitch, which is the minimum allowed for asphalt shingles. Best practice to use full ice & water shield for underlayment.
I had one of these but it wasn’t as joyful as I’d hoped. In North Carolina it was too hot in the summers to cool the thing down and to cold in the winters to keep it warm. I wish I’d given it a more serious electrical service and just plan to have a mini split system in there. Maybe a wood stove for the coldest days.
That's awesome! I have a friend who is doing the same thing as you with a 10x20 shed that is about half storage and half office. Good luck and have fun with your build!
Fantastic work, Pete! Really well done!!! 😃 Construction prices here in Brazil are really hurting right now... 😬 (I just finished 2 houses for renting and it was a headache!) Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you! Bummer to hear costs are still sky high down there. We are still high but OSB and 2x4s are fairly normal. Take care and hope the fam is doing well! Cheers
Thanks Stuart! It's definitely getting better. I've found it takes a long time to build my quad muscle strength back up, but it is getting a lot stronger and I'm hoping to get back out on the ice this winter! Still doesn't feel normal, but i hear it just takes time. Trail running and hiking again though so can't complain! Hope all is well!
Pete great job, by any chance can you do you plans for a similar shed in the dimensions of 12’ front and back X 10’ sides? Please let me know and how could cost me the plans. Thank you
Thanks Scott! It would be awesome for you to put a little creative space in your backyard. You would definitely put something like that to good use. Cheers!
Your house is beautiful. 13:45 I am adoring the wood meets black metal trim aesthetic. This shed couldn’t go any better with the style of your home. Great choices all around. Next year, build a golf simulator room/shed
Awesome breakdown enjoyed all of the details . Have you ever considered using hemplime aka hempcrete for insulation in more of a permanent structure perhaps idk that they can be moved
Thanks for watching! I did 4 inch soffit vents on the back side. I may add a couple on the front to help pull air through but it's been working just fine thus far. Cheers
I like the add on beck and temporary extension cord for power. Have small property and need more tool and material storage. Thinking about narrow but long salt shed style with three foot rear overhang for the material storage. Plan on a back prop line of these to build as needed. Any ideas?
Hey Pete, I was looking at this video and was curious about the electrical. Specifically the outdoor male plug-in inlet adaptor and then the electric panel/breaker box. Did you cover this in a previous video somewhere? Thanks for your time.
Just curious on the electrical layout. Did you use 1 circuit for lights/plugs and leave the 2nd circuit open for the mini split you discussed in the future? Building one currently and planning that out as it’s not detailed in the purchased plans. Thanks and love the build
I have a one car garage, built circa 1920 that has seen better days. My plan is to jack up the structure and lay 3 courses of block under the current walls. This will get the lumber up and away from ground moisture, add some more overhead clearance inside, and be a fun project!
You're the best Pete! Been following since your farmhouse table video. I want to build an outdoor kitchen on my patio. have anything like that in your future?
Thanks! I don't have the exact number of hours, but I built it over the course of a couple months as I was traveling quite a bit, filming, and doing in my spare time, but if you have the time and can devote it consistently, it could be built much quicker. Cheers
Hats off this man starting in winter and finish it in summer by him self bro deserves 10000000000000000000 likes
I want to build an outside bathroom. When my kids, family and friends use my pool, they’ve got to walk through the living room to get to the bathroom. I think something like this would be great.
That's a good idea and then they won't be dripping water all over the living room anymore. Looking forward to hearing how it goes!
It’s much easier and quicker to just add an outdoor shower (and combo dressing area), sink and toilet.

Nice, quality build.
I can’t get over how accurate and neatly all your cuts line up. Incredible work!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to say hi! Hope all is well!
Measure twice, cut once! 😊
Hey nobody mentioned that this is a mighty good looking shed! Proportions, colors, everything came out really nice :)
Thanks a ton!
In the process of building a small garden shed, 3x7, I wasn't sure how to do the roof, glad you explained it, ty
That's awesome Jeff! Good luck with the garden shed build!

Your an amazing teacher and narrator I loved your talent and work.
It’s 12 am, I am randomly watching this thinking about how hard this would be if I could build this, and I’m thinking about building it either way
i read this as you are 12 lol
great video as always Pete. Great to see you back at it after the knee injury.. Already counting down the days until the next hockey Rink video.
Thanks so much! The knee is getting better and I'm definitely hoping to be skating this winter! Pretty sure we'll be doing the rink again. Cheers!
It's a wonderful little house with a view overlooking fresh nature, an ideal place to relax and read books. congratulations
I love to see when someone does something, but takes their time and makes a good job.
This is the best building video ever. Precise and short. You know what you are doing😊

That was awesome, thanks for sharing. I want to do something like this for an insulated chicken coop build and your knowledge really helps.
That is an amazing idea! I'm planning to make a home that can move everywhere, especially on my farm, and easily return home
This was so nice to watch. I wish I had just a small amount of your skills.
Thanks for watching! One step at a time and you can do it! :)
Love it! Just awesome.

The man cave has changed shape. I like it!
As someone who isn’t handy at all, you made this look attainable. Well done.

the trick at 9:46 is so simple, but I'd never thought of doing that before!
Oh yeah, makes it so easy and is a perfect hack for a little shed :)
I really like the look of your shed, I might make one with storage in one end and a tiny office-like space in the other. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Scott! It would be awesome for you to put a little creative space in your backyard. You would definitely put something like that to good use. Cheers!
Great video! I noticed a bit of snow/rain during parts of the build. Do you have to worry about moisture buildup? (In between walls, floor, etc)
Question about the siding being that close to the ground. Any issues with the smartpanel picking up moisture?
Hey thanks for this! I’m about to build something super similar in my backyard

Love this built and would like to do something like it on my desert property. I am wondering if there is any anchoring to the ground?
Thanks! This one is not anchored. You certainly could rig up boards to the platform though and then stake it if you wanted to.

I wanna do this but with work I've no time. Would be the perfect size to put near my house, an also free up a larger room in my current house
