Hey Lance! You and I went to the same elementary school and I felt the same way you did! But for me, it wasn't racially motivated, it was bullying. Reading and watching TV were my escapes back then. It's awesome to see how accomplished you've become and I'm proud to say we're alumni!
I was gonna say: I spent one day at a private school, and I see how almost everyone there might feel alone... and bullied from multiple angles. Some o those kids were fubar-ed, because of the mental abuse, from their "rich" az parents. Meanwhile, many of us got the same exclusionary experience, while getting a sht education at broke-ial school.

I relate to Lance so much, especially as a black kid growing up, always felt like "other". Too black for the white kids and not black enough for the black kids and everyone else doesn't want to be associated because you look like a martyr.
