"Warp Speed Don't Rainbow Read Me Nigga" is genuinely one of the funniest things I've ever heard in my life.
Bro I'm not american but I can understand and speak properly but I completely missed that joke, what does it mean? For real 😂
@@PaulGP5130 it's a reference to two roles that Levar Burton played. On Star Trek Levar Burton played a character who would regularly say "warp speed" and Levar Burton was also the host of the show The Reading Rainbow
I had no clue, thank you man
My favorite thing
@@PaulGP5130 i am a Yankee and pieced together star trek references im barely hip to. Classic.
god i cant believe he ad libbed the ending of the levar burton skit, that last line was GENIUS

Eric Andre reference at 12:39 ish
Lol i went to comment section to find this. Thanks
Finally someone asked him about it. One of the funniest moments ever from that show.
Thanks dude!
Thanks!
For all this time I thought all of this wasn't planned!
WHERES MY ICONIC SLAVE ROLE?!?!?
@@KingKhanate1997 He actually said Eric, which makes it even funnier than that.

I WISH I WERE LAVAR BURTON

Lance is a underrated actor , he can do comedy roles and serious roles ...
And smokin' hot roles
he's serious by default, that's what makes him really good at the comedy, the gap of his seriousness and the ridiculous script he usually in
... at the same time
Robin Williams was the same.
He can even play blue face.
Rest in Peace, dude. We barely knew you but you made everything you're in better.
fr, I was getting a little tired of Aloy's "if Nausicaa was an angry teenage boy subbed to r/atheism" vibes and he saved Zero Dawn for me

I can't help but imagine him being The Martian Manhunter
Jesus Christ, that's perfect.
DC, WE GOT A PURE CASH MONEY IDEA HERE
His face and figure is too defined for MM. I feel like MM should be just the most generic dude ever. Since he's an alien that tries to match human features, so it should be the most average figure ever.
fuck that's perfect.
I couldn't agree more about him being the Martian Manhunter. There is something about him in terms of his screen presence that works.
do you think um- do you think.. justin bieber sprays his dna all over the ladies when he's in paris france?
I wish I were lavar burton
@@allenbackbone In this very interview, he explains that he had been told BY ERIC to get angry and walk out. Do you seriously believe that Eric was truly terrified when Lance just did what they had agreed upon beforehand?
That's a very good question
@@viljamtheninja tbf the punching the table was adlib bu lannce.
@@wertiuy123 He definitely startled Eric. But there's a difference between being startled and being *terrified*.
You came for the Eric Andre info. You stayed for a badass interview with a top notch actor dedicated to his craft. I was already a fan of his from The Fringe, now I need to watch Wired. Awesome guy
The wire is much better. Number 3 rated television show all time next to sopranos and oz
@@tdb4763 the wire was so damn good, from the first episode to the ending. Just excellent writing and performance.
The Wire is brilliant. And I'm not even a hardcore cop show fan. The writing of the show was layered and deep beyond a mere cop show.
@@Iron-Bridge First of all R.I.P. Lance. And secondly I have always had an aversion to cop shows. The Wire, in my opinion, is so much more than that. I think it is a very reductionary way to describe it. But it is a cop show at it's core. But it doesn't romantisize or demonize everyone involved in a way that just feels wrong.
Honesty, I DID come here to hear him talk about the Eric Andre show, but Lance Reddick was in these other great films and shows, like "The Wire" obviously, "John Wick", and "Corporate".
I'm so sad that he passed away today.
That moment at 17:43 when Reddick says "Yeah, I'm pretty good [at Shakespeare]" and the little look of quiet pride he gives to Norton was my favorite part of the whole thing.
this guys voice is the most macho thing i have ever heard.
Liam Neeson has that covered.
@@suciosanchez5984 Lance Reddick with an Irishman's accent. Yaass
He's a god
Nah. Listen to Scottie Pippen.
Just barely a week since he died, and I already miss him. RIP Lance, you were a cut above the rest.
Lance reddick is a cool dude. His Eric Andre show appearance is the best thing next to Lauren Conrad stomping off. He should do comedy more often.
Wow, big props to Reddick for ad-libbing the "warp speed don't rainbow read me" line, that's kind of amazing
The only man who has the friendliest face in reality, but can make the angriest face in certain roles...much respect. Thats true acting ability

He was great on "The Wire" and "Corporate" too.
RIP to one of the greatest ❤️
Always "Fringe" to me. What a great guy
Great show!!!
I miss Olivia
Fringe slaps, I wish it would come back to Netflix 😔
Rest in peace Lance Reddick. He always looked so young and I thought he made any project he was in even better.
Loved him in The Wire, loved him even more as Sylens in Zero Dawn, but his appearances on Andre Show and Funny or Die have made him one of my absolute favorite people. He needs to do more comedy, he's so good at it!
this man played one of the best villains in a game called quantum break, hands down one of my favorite actors, great interview too, he just seems so excited to do what he does.
My lad Zavala
This dude's officially my favorite actor now. I hope his personality is like this in real life.
Without a doubt the greatest Eric Andre show moment ever.
Just make him say BOSCH. This guy's good no matter what he's in.
.. Bahsch🤣🤣 love that show
Man Cedric Daniels is like the most intense character on tv history. Lance is total legend!
RIP 😢🙏🏾🙏🏾
Lance personality is amazing, very smart and well spoken man.
He’s good police
"well spoken"
He's very articulate. Yes. Comes off like you're saying that because he's Black or something
Did you really say “well spoken” in this context? Dear god.
I'm kinda sad the Eric Andre skit was scripted mostly by Eric, i was hoping they prepared that as a prank to Eric
That’s also kind of the beauty of it, Lance sold the performance so well we all believed it wasn’t scripted.
@@MrHobo175 The last part was ad-lib, and it's the best part.
@@redfiend1670 Oh yes, there is no denying that friend
From the sound of it he was't told to slam his fist on the desk, so Eric's frightened reaction was legit, which makes this whole thing even funnier.
The slamming wasn’t scripted by him

Beyond being a legendary actor, Lance Reddick is just cool as hell.
RIP Lance... you are still a beautiful and wonderful work of god.
I love how Lance broke my expectation that he'd be anything like his character on the wire. Amazes me how good some actors are.
the fact that he ad libbed "warp speed cant rainbow read me *****" is fucking genius itself. the cadence, the timing, perfection.
The lore of the Continental is so central to the franchise and Charon is a major role showing us how it works. Really excited when he got into the action
Shoulda asked him about voicing Commander Zavala in Destiny 1 and 2.
Lance Reddick is the ONLY person who should be allowed to play Grey Fox in an MGS movie.
he has the body shape, he has the head shape, he has the voice.
No one would be able to do as good, let alone better. NO ONE!

Rest in piece our favorite commander. Lance Reddick was in so many things I didn’t know about until a year or so ago.
Lance Reddick must be the most effortlessly chilling actors working today, he seems so easy going and fun to be around in interviews but he can cut the atmosphere on screen just with a raise of an eyebrow.

Great interview, wish it was longer. It was really special to get to know more about Lance. The only big problem I have with this video is the editing. When Sam is talking about Lance working on the Eric Andre Show and Lance is laughing a lot, the camera stays on Sam talking, and it would have been so nice to see Lance's reaction of laughter. Also it would have been nice if the guy in the background did research on the person from The Wire who passed away, found out his name and shared it. Really enjoyed the interview, thank you Jim, Sam & Lance and the guy in the background.
This is a great interview. He had such a great and varied career and to see him chat so candidly and happily about it all just makes me appreciate him as an actor even more. RIP Lance Reddick, you were one of the best to ever do it.
I'm curious to know if Lance appreciated being interviewed by people that really loved the shows he was on and aren't just pulling nonsense questions out their butt.
Are there people in the world that don't like the wire?
@@alonilutowich4505 yo, special snowflake right here, reporting for duty!
I think it's safe to say he does. But he appreciates the buzz his appearance on Eric andre gave him.

Wow not expected such an excited character talking about his roles better acting than I thought and that is saying something love this guy even more now

How has this guy not aged a day since he was on The Wire?
Oh man, Lance was a gift to humanity. RIP Lance
I LOVE when the most serious intense actors are also funny as hell when they do other not serious roles

Love this guy and great interview
One of the best interviews of Lance. RIP.
I've never really watched this show, I came for Chief Daniels, but I really like how much room they give the guest to speak.
Edit: Maybe it's just Lance commanding attention with his charisma, but I'm gonna watch some more of this show and see if they are always this disciplined lol
Wow I came here for the eric andre part but the interview was so good I watched it all
Such a good respectful interview, ya’ll let him talk and its refreshing.
That voice man.
I only know about him through Eric Andre, so cudos to your agent!
Rest in peace commander
Loved this man as Papa Legba. Iconic!
Such a professional interview, a guy is taking pictures of Lance in front of the camera. LOL.
Awesome that we got to hear the background on Eric Andre
This guy should play Dave Chappelle’s brother in a movie.
I wish he played in more Sci-Fi stuff and voiced in more games. HE makes everything sound good!
God, this guy hasn't aged a day since The Wire
Never saw Jon Wick but I remember the Wire and OZ with R.I.P. Callan!☝️😎
