I can’t help but feel sorry for Aegon. Sunfyre is clearly the only thing that has ever shown him love. No wonder he acts the way he does.

Aemond may look cool but he has unintentionally started the Dance of the Dragons by killing Lucerys and has compromised his own team by wounding Aegon and Sunfyre. In the books Aemond falls for Daemon's Harrenhall bait and is outmaneuvered which leads to the sack of Kings Landing. Daeron is level headed and not rash, he simply fights with Tessarion and wins important battles for the Greens.
Alicent was reading all those history books looking for anything about the song of ice and fire. The funny thing is, her daughter has seen it in her dreams...
"We're off to battle again, old girl."
Now they said there's been 80 years of peace so what battle was rhaenys ever in?

@@GJBedrin F&B tells us that Meleys was no stranger to battle. So either Alyssa or Rhaenys rode her into some kind of campaign. It's very possible Rhaenys fought in the Stepstones and the writters of the show just turn around the ideia. History just glosses over the conflict, let's just agree that it really makes sense she take her dragon and fly over the stepstones to help in the war her husband AND her son was fighting.
Considering Rhaenys' history and personality, I see her taking sides in the conflict for her family or at the request of Corlys, who had been suffering many losses in morale if we remember correctly. I even think that this could be added to F&B. If Caraxes and Seasmoke were there and Maelys was another large dragon with an instinct for war, nothing would stop her from participating and gaining more experience as the fight continued. Perhaps even making just a few occasional appearances in certain specific campaigns, as the war lasted a few years, there would be time to experience. But it could make sense. Even during their marriage Rhaenys had just helped Corlys during his voyages 🤷🏻♀ well at least some.
Rhaenys also mentions the patrols held with Maelys in the bay and beyond, looking for enemy ships and the like. Who knows what kind of thing could have happened there that she, with a dragon, would make disappear as if it had never existed. A lot of things could have happened and just never mentioned in the front of the viewer. Anyway, there are good possibilities.
Vhagar is 2 for 2 on sneak attacks. She isn’t the most experienced dragon alive for nothing.
Plus she has the best and smartest rider in Aemond. That is deadly combination.

@@snappingbear Aemond isn’t the best or smartest rider. It’s why Meleys was able to take Vhagar down in the first contact. Raenys was better. Vhagar was just too much in the end. Daemon is better too. Hell, Rhaenyra might be a better rider too.
It's the same way Vaegar got Luke. From down under. If you look at when Melee was coming back for round two with Vaegar she came from shoreline to the top of the cliff. She was behind Aemond where he had to turn around. And then he pulled the same move but succeeded. I'm so sad😢

First she flew into a brilliant trap set by the much smarter Aemond that neither she nor Raynera even considered, then she took her dragon over the only place Vhagar could hide, i. e., behind the the castle. She was a terrible fighter and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Ameond is every bit as good a rider and fighter as Demond plus he is smarter with a calmer disposition than the hothead Demond.
Even if Alicent had never had the misunderstanding with Viserys about Aegon, things would have went the same way as Otto Hightower was planning this from before Viserys died.
And she already did an awful job raising Aegon

Vhagar is not only the oldest and largest dragon on team Green, but she's also an experienced, battle-hardened war veteran. She fought during Aegon's Conquest(her rider was Visenya Targaryen), the Faith Militant Uprising, and the First Dornish War.
All the dragons on team Black(except for Vermithor) are mere babies to her.
Meleys was the largest dragon team black had not Vermithor and was herself a veteran. She just wasn't as old, large, or as experienced as Vhagar.

Vermithor was Jaehaerys' dragon, to vaghar that dragon is also a baby in terms of age. They are all literally babies who are not even 100 years old. Vaghar is 180 years old. The only dragon that is close to his age is Dreamfyre. Because it was the dragon of Rhaena Targaryen, the eldest and first-born daughter of King Aenys.
Felt bad for both Meleys and Sunfyre. They never wanted to fight. Same with Vhagar. Old grandma dragon just wanted to rest and is tired of all these BS fighting.

This episode kinda put into perspective that they were at war since episode one, but Rhaenyra lack of leadership allowed the other side to make the first move, which cost her Rhaenys and the biggest dragon they have.

Sunfyre and Aegon bond is so special
The little nudge Sunfyre gave him was special, his dragon is the only thing in the world that unconditionally loves him and you saw it there
Sunfyre totally booped his own nose with Aegon. It melted my heart. That is the kindest ANYONE has been to Aegon.
Bar Vhagar flying over the forrest, that was prob my fave bit of the episode
In the book, it was a 2v1 fight. Meleys the swiftest dragon against Sunfyre & Vhagar the largest. And Rhaenys refused to surrender or flee. It was kill or be killed.
But if we take the show's reasoning, i think Rhaenys went back the second time around because she already injured Vhagar and was going to finish the job. Vhagar/Aemond was the biggest threat from the side of the Green.
She didn't run because criston and the green army were still alive, if she left before killing them it would've made her coming to aid lord staunton ( lord of rooks rest) pointless. The greens wouldve taken the castle. Vhagar wasn't all that injured, meleys claws didn't go very deep.

I love the brief glimpse we get of Aegon's relationship with Sunfyre. You can see the love. Probably the only kind of love Aegon has ever experienced.

A further tragedy is Meleys and Vhagar were the dragons on Alyssa and Baelon (Viserys and Daemon’s mother and father) and now they are trying to kill each other.
The key to happiness is finding yourself a dragon that looks at you the way Sunfire looked at Ageon when he gave him that chest bump.
Aemond is carrying the greens hard, the dude is smart and a good warrior with a huge dragon. Without him it would be over easily. Aegon was the only one keeping the greens back with his stupidity and now Aemond has taking him out so with him as king things will be hard for rhaenyra

@@seanc411 Yeah that's true and that's why i hope they introduce Daeron with his blue queen cause his the only member of the greens that's truly pretty good overall and i think he has one of the prettiest dragons in the game of thrones universe, Tessarion blue colour with cobalt blue wings and shoots blue flames.
As you will find out soon, Aemond is not that smart. He is discount Daemon, but not nearly as cunning
And now Corlys is potentially compromised emotionally. He's lost his brother, his wife and love, his grandson and second heir, and he believes his son and true heir is also dead. All of which could very easily be blamed on Rhaenyra as he has done once already. I feel like either Corlys will become a liability emotionally or he will persevere and fill the void. Or who knows maybe he'll do both.
So after seeing Rhaenys skills in fighting and how much trouble she gave Aemond, if she and Daemon had teamed up like Daemond was trying to get her to do they would've whooped Aemond ass.

They’re the only two interesting characters in the show. Hopefully they unite but they’ll probably be enemies. A fight scene would be cool between them

George RR Martin always said that the dragon in Westeros are the nuclear option, and that's just when one side has dragons. When both sides do? Guaranteed all out destruction, as we saw today. It's one thing to read about it, it's a whole other to see it
The term "nuclear option" isn't one that applies to just one side having nuclear weapons. And the term you're looking for in regards to both sides having them is "mutually assured destruction". It was the prevailing policy idea behind the buildup of nuclear weapons in the West during the Cold War and the rationale that having more nuclear weapons would prevent their actual use. In hindsight historians typically agree it was a very dangerous policy idea. And that it was one that we were lucky to survive as there were a handful of incidents where nuclear war came one step before realization including two separate false readings of an attack one for NATO and one for the U.S.S.R.
Sunfyre and Aegon has unique Bond, more like brothers than human and pet.
To be fair that's true for all dragon and dragonriders. They're all unique bonds in and of themselves, where none is more bonded than any other; just differently. Sunfyre was sadly (probably) the one being in the world that gave Aegon unconditional love. It seems at least that not even his mother was capable of that.

Vhagar isn't the evil one it's his rider that's evil. He knew he was going to injure Aegon (which I care less about) , but he admitted he was angry when he murdered Luce. Every one gives grief to Daemond about wanting the crown but he never did. Aemond always did want and thought he deserved the crown.
I personally don't really care about most Targarians if they die because I feel like they are all kinda in the wrong all the time. But watching these dragons die makes me sad. They are like big pups. Big, flying, firebreathing, mass-murdering, pups or terror.. but still.. pups. And I like pups 😔😂

The concoction that Alys gave Daemon was Weirwood sap, it's what Bran consumes to enhance his Greenseer powers. He drank it because he had just seen her eat some and then add hot water to it.
In the books, it is said that she appears younger than she really is, but according to the showrunner, Ryan Condel, she is 400 years old.
First off I just wanna say RIP to Meleys the RED QUEEN !!! She's one of the most badass dragons in the dance, and it was glorious to see her in full display. Even though book readers like myself knew what was coming in this battle(in terms of the victor) it was still a surprise to see how the battle played out the way it did, an what actually happened between those three dragons in that battle. IMO if your watching this show and you don't consider these past four episodes as peak TV, then you're watching the wrong show !! 💯

But even if we are talking about using dragons in general then you are wrong, the Blacks were the first to use it. Before Aemond killed Luke Rhaenys killed hundreds of innocent civilians during Aegon's coronation. How come people (deservedly) bashed Aegon for killing 100 ratcatchers when he couldn't find the one responsible, but completely ignore Rhaenys killing hundreds of civilians on a public festival using a dragon, litteral equivalent of an atomic bomb or other weapon of mass destruction. By any definition that was a terrorist attack. Team Black used the dragons first.

She probably made up her mind when surprisingly saw all three main forces showed up at the same time, and realized this is probably a great chance for her to damage the green team the best she can. True warrior!

I think a lot of people keep looking past the fact that wether or not Aemond intervened or not wouldn’t of made a difference when it came to Meley’s vs sunfrye. Meley’s was just about to finish that battle before Aemond came around. Not to mention, she took almost no fire damage from Vhagar and won the first match between the two of them. The first time Vhagar and Meley’s clash, she does the most damage and causes her to slam onto the ground whereas she was still flying in the air just fine. Shoutout to Meley’s for being the Queen of the this episode. Imagine being such a badass dragon that the only way you could be defeated is with a sneak attack.
One of the best things about 'Fire and Blood' is that it is told through a third person(s) giving the show writers lots of room to maneuver and surprise us all.
I am questioning Rhaenys's decision to turn Meleys around and fight Vhagar.
Did she do out of regret for not finishing the greens when she had the chance?
Did she assume incompetence from Aemond after she just saw him burn his brother?
We'll never know for certain.

Yeah, that’s the morning after pill and if you noticed when she kept her belly, she is showing already a little after four kids. Women can tend to look bigger sooner and so yes she’s pregnant with Cole’s baby and she’s disboarding it at the moment.
That's not necessarily indicative of pregnancy which is why a lot of women don't know they are pregnant until well in their term and women don't start showing that early. Even then pregnancy isn't as easily sussed out visually as you think it is. Bloating is literally a common thing that women deal with related to their hormones and menstruation. It could also very easily mean a variety of things other than pregnancy such as diverticulitis or even something as simple as constipation. And Alicent would likely know this. She's just taking it to be sure and it's possible it was always her intention and could be her intention in the future to take it at regular intervals.
Somehow, the phrase: "The King is Dead, Long live the King!" comes to mind...
Or in this case, The Queen.
Meleys was smaller but more agile than Vhagar; there was a chance she will able to win. Rhaenys decided it is worth risking her life, as killing Vhagar - and with Sunfyre severly injured and Helaena's dragoness never ridden by her - Greens would not have any adult dragons on their sides.

I keep hearing reactors say "He" in describing Vhagar. Vhagar is a "She".
She's the oldest "She", actually. One of the 3 original dragons of Aegon The Conqueror's conquest. Aegon had Balerion (male), Rhaenys had Meraxes (female), and Visenya had Vhagar. Vhagar has outlived them all. Ya'll put respect on this Queen's name.
Nothing would have been avoided had Alicent understood what Viserys said. It was always going to go this way. The Alicent stuff only affected how she felt about it all going down. War was inevitable. The Green Council had been planning it all behind her back.
Feel TERRIBLE for poor Sunfyre. Meleys kicked his a$$ and Vhagar roasted him. Poor thing, he was a golden retriever puppy dragon😭

Daemon is also evil (he killed his first wife, sent murderers to a small child), and everyone loves him, I really do not understand. I get the impression that Aemond became evil by being wronged by others, you could say he is just vindictive. Daemon is burtal and evil because... because he just is..😑

Neglected, the air apparent but then shun by a brother's Aire, etc. I do think the difference, is despite everything, Daemon has a sense of honor to his family, while Aemond does not, he is out only for himself. There is an evil in both of them for sure. My point was Vhager, like any other dragon, animal, is not evil, their masters are.

But as a whole team green has Alicent,Aegon,Aemond,Cole all of which have so much depth and they fit in the story with the concept of they aren’t good or evil they are gray within this world, while Rhaenyras group is just written as good guys (outside of Daemon) which I get makes for some fans “ahhhhh’ cheer for the hero but for me just makes her like of boring. If the writers made it that she purposely was ducking accountability and trying to silence those who called her out not that her dad isn’t doing it anymore I would think she had some potential but nah.

so Vagar is the biggest, Vermithor is a closest in size, Meleys and Caraxes are next in size but Vermithor is still much bigger then those two, Syrax and Sea-smock are next and the are around 2/3 the size of Meleys and Caraxes, then everyone else's dragons are ether smaller then Syrax and Sea-smock but are still fly able and can fight or too small to fly and can't fight, but as it stands now The Blacks have Vermithor: The Bronzes Fury (but is not claim yet), Caraxes: The Blood Worm, Syrax, Sea-smock (but is not claim yet), Jace's Dragon, Damon's daughter's dragon, and another one of Rhaenyra's son's dragon, meanwhile The Greens now just have Vagar: The Conqueror Dragon, because Sun-Fire is not going to get back in the fight if he is even alive, Dream-Fire is The Dragon-dreamer Queen's dragon and she's definitely not going into battle so The Greens only have one big, big, big dragon against The Blacks one big, big dragon, one big dragon, two medium dragons, and three small dragons Vagar can only do so much she just had a fairish fight against one dragon who had to fight two which tells me that Amond was not confident to one v one Meleys he let Sun-Fire weaken Meleys and trap her before joining the fight and taking the advantage. that against a dragon that might be able to kill Vagar, what a about a dragon that can kill Vagar Vermithor what is Amond going to against that he doesn't have any other dragon friends to use as bait anymore so what then? while yes this is a Green military victory, but it's also a black victory their enemy's leader is at beast dead at worst permanently incapacitated, and they only have one dragon to both defend their (Greens) castles, and too attack theirs (Blacks) so I would say The Blacks are in a really good place right now if they play their cards right (keep in mind there are no Green Dragons at King's landing right now)

"I feel like the CGI was better?" I assume you refer to GOT. They had far less dragon scenes so yeah maybe. But this was terrible or something? Why are some people never satisfied? How better could it be! The money involved in this is a LOT we shouldn't be insulting the animators who are giving us these incredible dragons in the first place.
