I wondered what it would look like if TASBot played Zelda 2. I didn't expect THAT.
11:40 Best moonwalk you've ever seen.
Shadow Link didnt know what hit him.
Shadow Link: oh? so you're approaching m-
Link: *Teleports behind Shadow Link* Nothing personal kid.
Shadow Link: NANI!? **dies**
*Dark Link:* Who are you?
*Link:* I'm you, but with WAY MORE SWAAG.
6:13 How it feels to chew 5 gum.
Skip to 6:00 for the actual run.
It says so at the start, and in the description
DanTheManMS if
tasbot sure had more time than bimmy lol
😂
11:30
just like pro melee players
If link had luigi's wavedash
Dark link: who are you?
Link: I'm you but stronger
Dark Link: In your wildest dre-
*Link warping around, and literally hitting him from every direction without darklink being able to react.*
Link: Omae wa Ma Shinderu...
DarkLink: NANI!?~ *Explodes.*
Go Link! Clear-cut those forests.
With a hammer! 😂
6:00 start
Looks like "blast processing" to me.

yay opus!!!
wow that was SO NORMAL!
try portal with no portals
I brushed my teeth and the game was beat O: what the heck!
11:29
Link: Omae Wa Mou, Shindeiru
Dark Link: N A N I ? !
I feel like I'm watching a horror movie whenever Link is going down a blue elevator in the stabbed position
I don't get it! What the hell is going on?
The TAS can also overflow memory and fuck the game, like how a previous person said it can make the game unwinable, so you need to do everything right, hence, a frame perfect button pressing robot
Link is channeling his inner Kenshiro, Jotaro, and Alucard all at once.
Omg! XDDD I had no idea what was going on.
What the fuck!! lol
Isn't it actually 5:38?
The time for the TAS is 05:35.93. They cant hit the stop timer button that precise
That's what Zelda said... geddit?
All Zelda says in this game is zzzzzzz
Tassing. The only time you feel good for. 1 fps
I wouldn't enjoy 1fps for TASing, since I use tools where frame-perfect inputs don't depend on low frame rates.
I do appreciate that they use emulators, high-level CPU's, and incredibly intricate strategies to shave every possible frame off of the game-time, then leave in 5-minutes of bullshit at the beginning of the video.
It's a VIDEO site, you fucking idiot. You don't have to read the description. On top of that, the best mention of the cause is when they read off donations DURING the runs, since people don't skip that. nice try with your weak arguments.
Of course you have to read descriptions.
i know blitazg
So wait, what the hell is TASBOT? Is the robot playing or is it some wired gimmick with pre recorded gameplay. It's still fun to watch though
im only 90% sure of this, but the robot is just for show. What it is is a pre-recorded video, of a run that a real person did-- using an infinite amount of time slowing down and save states. So tehy can play it frame by frame, and save/reload as often as they want. Then we watch the fast forwarded results. And they set it up like its a robot doing it live.
Rob Haskell It's not a pre-recorded VIDEO per say, it's just the specific inputs that are pre-made and are sent to the NES somehow.
Not exactly. It's pre-recorded game input that was calculated frame by frame. TAS stands for "Tool Assisted Speed Run", so in this case, the tool is what allows them to control the inputs and perform them in a way that no human on an actual controller will ever be able to do.
:D
I dont understand why there is a robot actually... even im a hardcore gamer i really dont understa d this part of some speed run... can someone help me pls?
TASbot is the ROB that has the Raspberry Pie on it
They've recorded a series of inputs in a frameperfect way, advancing a frame at a time on an emulator for as many times as it takes to play like a god. Then they've taken this pre-recorded sequence of button presses and played it on a real console. The TASbot is just a Rob the robot with a specialized circuit board that outputs these "buttonpresses".
i think one of my comments got deleted after taseditor shit himself, oh well
why do we watch 7 minutes of nothing for the videos?
Jordan Leveritt This is raw footage that is directly taken from the stream
During the preparations they also announces donations and stuff and they want them kept in the videos.
This was nice but I want to see a TASbot of this without the frame skipping bullshit.
what's the point?
lulz
wtf^^ just wtf^^
WutFace
TAS and any% glitch runs should all be in the same category.
No.
I get that what you're doing is important, and its for charity and you want to make sure you recognize people for contributing... But you really should avoid making half the video an introduction to the video, you know?
Damnit, the glitches, so broken ... I just wanted to see a flawless run, not this ...
Then watch TAS, not TASBot. Because TAS is controlled by human, and TASBot is not.
This is the opposite of what makes TAS cool.... there is almost no real gameplay in this entire clip.
woosh
This is actually the pinnacle of TAS, it has evolved from the simple piddly programs of old. No other TAS program matches the TASbot.
I don't think this is a speed run. Exploiting glitches isn't a speed run.
I don't think you're aware of what speed runs are.. or baiting.
haunt my definition is beating a game very quickly. Some runs I've seen are people using glitches to get passed or even skipping important parts of the game. Mario Warp Zones excluded. That's part of the game.
Your definition is not THE definition. THE definition for this particular category (any%) is to beat the game as fast as possible with no restrictions. If you don't like glitches, you're probably in the wrong place.
Technically, this is a TAS any% speedrun. That means that A. They are playing the game frame by frame to get pixel perfect actions, and B. They can do whatever they want/need to do to win. Glitches, exploits, anything that isn't straight up hacking the game is fair.
Yes, it is not a speedrun. It's a tas.
