If you have liked quality audio equipment for the last 40 years and have always purchased quality audio equipment and doing your research, you get to know and appreciate when quality parts and equipment is produced. Don’t only take my word for it but do your own research and read reviews and make your own judgment and hopefully nobody will judge you for giving your opinion.

    This might sound weird but the new studio not only enhances the viewing experience but compliments Matt’s voice and tone. Have always enjoyed your videos but this is definitely an improvement. Thank you for doing all this for the rest of us who are not audiophiles but are interested in learning.

    Dynaudio you can not go wrong simple, I have the evoke 20 in a blond finish very pretty speakers but there not all show and know trousers these things pack a serious punch on the end of the right amp. And your going to need an amp with a lot of current to really make them sing look know further than "naim" or Hegel in my opinion 2 power house brands of Europe....

    Hello, surely a very basic question for you.
    It is better to control the volume from the Dac or from the amplifier in the case of both having the same one.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You would generally want run your Pre-amp DAC to something like 90% volume and then adjust gain on the amp. Generally, amps for the home don't have gain adjustment.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I'd rather have the bigger Emit in between those two. The Emit and Evoke sound rather similar, so I'd rather sacrifice the quality of cabinet and components a bit for the size and presence of the larger floor standing speaker.

      The M20 were designed before Dynaudio Jupiter measurement system was built. The 20 came out after and it appears it will measure better than the old M20. The face of the 20/10 is much cleaner looking than the M20/10. They hid all the fastener heads and used magnetic grills.

    I own the first gen Dali Opticon 2 speakers. But find them a little bit to sharp on the ears on higher volumes. Will the Emit 20 be better then the Opticon 2?

    • @Bobbe1994
      @Bobbe1994 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey dont know if this is too late but, I did own Evoke 20 for a couple of months before selling them. I do own Opticon 1 mk1. And other Dali speakers. To me even the evoke 20 do sound like they have a blanket in front of them, in the midrange, compared to Dali speakers, but they probably have what you seek. They are by no means sharp sounding in my experience. Also Dali seem to have a wider sound dispersion, so to speak a very different soundstage, which I prefer. Evoke definetly have impressive low end response for their size. All testet on NAD C399.

    You can't buy audio equipment off a video. Unless you can demo in your own room and compare then you are wasting your time; hearing is subjective and what sounds good to you or I doesn't to others. Define your application and budget and then listen to as many speakers as you can. KEF, Focal, RBH, B&W, NHT, Def Tech, JTR, ELAC, Revel, Paradigm, etc. all make great speakers.

    You could stick a pair of cheap $100 Edifier speakers in my face and compare them to Harbeth’s $20k speakers and I’d be like “okay, so?”. I’m not an audiophile. I like to have reliable sound and for the speakers to look nice. If they cost $X then that’s what I’m spending … everything else is white noise to me. My garage does NOT deserve dedicated speakers, I use a Bose Bluetooth speaker. But it’d be nice to have something like this if I ever get around to remodeling the garage.
